3. Qatar????
Dave ,   Australia   (04.20.07)
I may be getting a bit long in the tooth, but isn't Qatar a private sheikdom that still employs slave labour conditions. So for all of those who just see the shiny glittering glitz, don't forget the poor people who are the majority, all imports, who do all the work for bare wages, while top professionals get fantastic wages so that they can write 'back hone' how wonderful it is in Qatar. Forget the poor at your own peril.
4. It's about time...
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (04.20.07)
It's about time arab countries start investing in such projects.
5. #4 I agree! It promotes peace,harmony
MARK ,   USA   (04.20.07)
The Arab countries say they want peace but they do not visit Israel or engage with Israel on any issues. They need to make small steps. Even very small. That will HELP!!!! Like Qatar has done. They need to follow Qatar.

Shira ,   BS   (04.20.07)
These people have a habit of turning on people, especially those of the book. Besides, I have just read that according to Al Thani, the Israelis "must negotiate with Hamas". Really????? We must??????????.
9. #6 Solution to Palestinian refugees
MARK ,   USA   (04.20.07)
I have said that all the Palestinian refugees should be allowed to enter pre 1967 Israel. They can be permanent residents but not have citizenship of Israel. They automaticaly will be Palestinian Citizens in Palestine. 3 state solution possible 2 small Jewish /Palestinian Most of land Bi-National they will share the land Anyone agree with me?

Garhwali ,   USA   (04.20.07)
My friend, you are either naive or delusional. You solution seems OK on the surface, but is absolutely and completely non-viable. For one, simply allowing Palestinian refugees to enter pre 1967 Israel will not placate them. They want more than just land....they want their own identity (in the form of a sovereign state of Palestine) and they want their own autonomous government to look after their own affairs. Secondly, I'm not sure if you realize this or not, but most Palestinians (and other Arabs) will settle for nothing less than complete removal of every last jew from Palestine. This demand is driven by incredibly strong religious and cultural motivations, and is non-negotiable. Allowing Palestinians unrestricted passage into Israel is lunacy....its suicide. Haven't you learned anything from the intifadas, AND the Gaza withdrawl? There are only 2 possible solutions that will guarentee peace in the region. Either all Palestinians be absorbed by surrounding arab states, or all jews leave and form a state somewhere else. In other words, a 2 state solution is impossible. And since neither of the above solutions are likely, we can be sure that there will not be any longstanding peace in the middle east for some time. The Israeli left should snap out of their utopic dreams, wake up to this reality, and realize that the only way to survive is by being prepared to fight for it.
17. To Mark #5
Oleg ,   USA   (04.20.07)
What peace/harmony are you talking about? How many kids would have their throats cut before you realize that "small steps" from Arabs will not promote anything. We have a gap of 700 years with Muslim world moral development. Go to history of Christianity about 700 years ago and look what they did at that time. Exactly the same muslims are doing now only technology is much advanced creating more deaths. Until Muslims will completely change their attitude toward life in general no peace is in prospective.
18. for what to spread more hatred in middleeast???????
(04.20.07)
19. Flight only a few hours?
Richard ,   Toronto   (04.20.07)
The flight may only be a couple of hours, but does the Dean realize that in order for an Israeli to travel to Doha, they must either transfer first through Cairo, Amman, Mumbai or Europe in order to get there? This certainly amounts to more than a few hours.
20. Garwhail; There is no Palestine or Palestinians.
Palestiniansareamyth   (04.20.07)

Fares ,   cleveland   (04.21.07)
you forgot to take your medication today ..that is all . Palestinians represent 20 % of israel now ..50 % by 2050 by israel stats .. if you are in your 20s ...the chance of seeing a palestinians as an israeli PM is very high. your zionist idea is dead from the get go .. final advise ..don't play that line again ..you sound like Sharon .

24. #21 papajay
(04.21.07)
this guy is everywhere and SO ARE YOU. people are sick and tired of listening to the drivel you spew on a daily basis. drivel full of grammatical errors, spelling errors, basically exposing the maturity of a 5 years old writer. your so called opinions are respected only by you and noted only by hate monger arabs who find you an inspiration to their bloody cause, whatever that may be. you are as confused as they and your analysis and writing compel me to tell you one thing.... you have no clue what you are writing about and use ynet as an avenue to spit your so called "knowledge" for all to see and laugh at. you are a joke, papajay. it is very sad to see an american from the boonies, i suppose, trying to make a go at political, military and historical arguments. not one single thought of yours makes sense. it is repetitive, boring, unintelligent and lacks any historical insight into a problem that is way way way too big for you to understand. please do yourself and us a big favor. stop posting or come up with something new for a change.
25. #9, No, but they should be welcome in Quatar.
AK   (04.21.07)
26. #10, Quatar is a third world country, with its trillions $$
AK   (04.21.07)
Why would anybody wish to study at a third-world university? In the past, Communist countries created indoctrination centers for foreign students at their universities, and I suspect this is no different.
27. #9 Great Idea-only admit them to Canada &UK. Also maybe toUS

christa ,   near Monaco   (04.21.07)
citizens of Arab countries can go to Israeli universities. I dont think they can even visit Israel. They would either be denied entry or jailed...
30. # 9 Answer to your question
christa ,   near Monaco   (04.21.07)
I definitely agree with you, although I have a dream of a one-state solution on the Swiss model - peace and stability and economic progress, etc.
