OLMERT AND THE LIBERALS NEED THE PERMISSION OF WORLD OPINION TO DEFEND IT'S CITIZENS AND SOVERNITY WITH THE HELP OF (BEND OVER AND GRAB YOUR ANKLES APPEASING COWARDS!)NEVER AGAIN???
2. Hamas Independence Day Attack
mxh ,   new york   (04.25.07)
I think the proper response would be a resumption of targeted killings. While terror leaders are enthusiastic about murdering israeli civilians and encouraging their own people to launch suicide bombings, they seem strangely unenthusiastic about themselves being killed. Since Hamas has explicitly claimed responsibility for the attacks, this makes their leaders fair game. With no civilian casualties on the Palestinian side and no IDF casualties, all the damage would be incurred by Hamas and not Israel.
3. Author's total misunderstanding
Mike ,   New York, NY   (04.25.07)
The World oppinion will support the one who is stronger and has less people dead. If Attack is done with good preparation, and not response to Hamas attack, it will be supported. If attack follows the deaths of a Jew it wouldn't be supported. I am surprised that a writer don't knows this trivial fact.
4. No to Gaza operation
Juan ,   Spain   (04.25.07)
So, we'll wait for a few Israelis to die after a Qassam attack - is that the plan? The other option is to make "surgical" strikes responding to each and every attack. A question: When is a ceasefire not a ceasefire?
5. ARE YOU FREE OR ARE YOU SLAVES? We Are A Free Nation!!!!

or go back to the Galut and be enslaved. ARE YOU FREE OR ARE YOU SLAVES?

7. it takes Israeli dead to do something about terrorism???
mike   (04.25.07)
what kind of thinking is this? F the world opinion, and do your job as a military commander. Disgusting and indefensible. the dead are not bargaining chips you fool.
8. Much Of This Is True.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (04.25.07)
But we will never have any international support for anything we do to protect our security. Even the US would not look kindly on a full-scale Gaza invasion. Can we ignore international pressure? I say yes. But only if we achieve some clear-cut goals. We need to eliminate Hamas & Fatah both. Send Abbas into exile - we don't need him. Disarm Gaza & destroy what we can of terrorist infrastructure. This would include PA security forces. Re-take the Philadelphia corridor to stop further arms smuggling. A small incursion or resuming targeted killings is not a solution; it is merely continuing the status quo.
9. you can attack us now, believe me

on his hands. So they are waiting for Jews to die before they act. I think that if and when Jews die eventually, the relatives should sue directly the person who made this decsion.
11. WHAT???
(04.25.07)
SO FIRST SOME ISRAELIS HAVE TO DIE BEFORE WE CAN TAKE ACTION?? SURE, LETS DIE FIRST AND !THEN! "DEFEND OURSELVES", OMG OUR GOVERNMENT IS TOTALLY RETARDED!
12. I agree.....
Israel ,   USA   (04.25.07)
But only if the dead are the people like you who dare to think that are brothers and sisters death is ok, sacrifice yourself for your beliefs not us.

IGNORING INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE !!! i agree 99% with mr roy ben yshaï, but the only point i don't agree is that we should wait for deads to start a large-sacle operation! what's this b****it ? during this funny "cease-fire", hamas launched hundreds of quassams without killing,it's true, any israeli.ok...but what do you think mr ben yshaï ? that hamas was targeting intentionally only the sand of the neguev because he wanted to avoid killing jews?? you know very well that for each quassam launched, the hamas pray that it will land in a street,or in a school of sderot!!! that's why i have always said that for each quassam landing in the desert,we should retaliate as if this quassam killed israeli kids in sderot! because that was their goal!!! but who will hear me.... an other point, on july 12, the whole world was witness that it was hezbollah who attacked israel, on ITS territory.during the first 3 days, israel had a "small" support from some countries...but then, when we started to bomb all lebanon(like they deserve it),all the worl forgot who started and they put the pressure on israel to stop!!! so,F*** the world! whatever we do,or not do,they will always be against us! so we need a real man to replace olmerd first, and then do the job.WE CAN LEAN ONLY ON OURSELVES and on ashem. each jew should understand that.
15. The logic is: "What wil the goyim say?" not how to save Jews
Sergio ,   Qiryat Arba, Israel   (04.25.07)
The logic is: "What wil the goyim say?" not how to save Jewish lives. For these people NOTHING HAS CHANGED FROM THE TIMES OF THE GHETTOES!!!! This guy should put his son near the fence. Then we'll have a victim!
16. A few Merkava Tank Photos from Last Lebonan war please!

17. olmert also gains
boris ,   moscow   (04.25.07)
if he will give order for a military operation in ghaza cause the winograd report will be released on monday so the begining of a military operation will take the attention away from the report about olmert's crime against israel & israelis who were already humilated because of his foolish policy & lies & corruption
18. THINGS WE WILL NEVER HAVE ARE :
MOSHE ,   US   (04.25.07)
1] "international support and silent agreement by moderate Arab leaders for a wide-scale Gaza operation" 2] PEACE WITH THE p'arabs 3] HOPE THAT p'arabs WILL BE PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS EVEN IN ISRAEL & OFF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE 4] HOPE THAT p'arabs AS A people WILL ACT IN A SUBSTANTIALLY MORAL & ETHICAL MANNER & BE GOOD ISRAELI CITIZENS & NEIGHBORS. ALL WE CAN HOPE FOR IS THAT ISRAEL WILL REALIZE THAT NO OTHER NATIONS TRULY CARE ABOUT US & SOME ACTUALLY HATE US. AND THAT WE SHOULD STRIKE OUR ENEMIES SO STRONGLY, EVEN WIPE THEM OUT, BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY WE WILL HAVE PEACE, IF IT CAN BE ATTAINED AT ALL. MOSHE

chaim ,   miami beacch usa   (04.26.07)
Your formula might have some merit is Israel had the proper leadership, you give to much credence to the current leadership in forward thinking and the evaluation of the consequences their actions will have.
21. Mistake already made - it's about publicity
sheri ,   rockville maryland   (04.27.07)
With each missle a PR branch should be spreading photos, if only of the sand, and press releases on who could have been hurt and how sad it would be if children were killed. And sending it to every news outlet. The world doesn't even know or care that missles are coming into Israel. The PR has to be done up front, so when time comes for strikes the world is waiting with baited breath to see if Israel is going to do something. This has been a huge missed essential opportunity for months now. I know at first no one will list or print the info, but eventually it would start to shift.
