Wow, the settlers in Hebron are among the most extreme and most violent of all people. These settlers teach there children to hate everyone who does not believe the way they do. They teach them to hate Palestinians, non-Jewish foreigners, and I guess now even leftists Jews. You all blabber on about how the Palestinians teach their kids to hate and how evil that is, but when settlers teach their kids to hate that is somehow OK. In fact, many posters here then that they are the true Jews fighting for Israel. Is the true Judaism to hate everything that is not Jewish? I don't think so. The settlers represent what is wrong with this world - religious extremists who hate. Yes, some Palestinians are like this too, but so are these settlers. They are no better than Hamas or any terrorist group. Every day Palestinians have stones thrown at them by settlers in Hebron. Full grown adults attack Palestinian children on their way to school! Non-Jewish foreigners often have rocks thrown at them! All this is done under the watchful eye of Israeli soldiers, who do nothing but sit back and watch, as old women and young children are beaten! These settlers should not serve as role models or heros for anyone. They are a sick and hateful group. When I visited Hebron, I tried to talk with the settlers - not in a mean or angry way - not even talking about the Palestinians, but just trying to talk with them in the hopes of eventually listening to their perspective and their side of the story. I was trying to understand where they are coming from, and all they did was curse and yell at me! Israeli people are wonderful and nice people, but many settlers represent the worst aspect of Israeli society and Judaism. They don't want peace they want to kill or remove all Palestinians. Now, don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying all settlers are like this, I stayed in Efrat and met with many settlers who were very welcoming and friendly. I just want to see a time where both my Palestinian, Israeli Arab, and Jewish-Israeli friends can all live in peace together, AS EQUALS! Extremists in Palestine and these extremist settlers are preventing this peace from occuring. Everyone who agrees with their actions here are also sick and hateful people.
