Olmert must go but who will replace him? If, as some say the whole "gang" must go, then there must be a General Election. I think most Israelis do not want another election. We will get another bunch that are basically no different from the current lot or, even worse, we could get Bibi or Peretz as PM! If we get Peretz, that’s then end of the Treasury, if we get Bibi, prepare to bury all those who are handicapped, sick or above the age of 67! The rich will get richer and heaven help the poor if they have children. If we get Ovadia Josef, he can make peace with the Ayatollahs in Iran and if the chosen one is Beilin or Zahava Galon, we can live in a Palestinian “protectorate” under Abu Mazen! Yes, Olmert must go but who will replace him?

The inept trio of Olmert, Peretz, & Livni has sunk to unbelievable new lows in popularity. With zero credibility, anything they do or say will be interpreted in the worst possible light. Before the war Olmert was popular. The war was lost (wasn't won) not by Olmert. The army lost it (didn't won it). When decision to go to war was taken, nearly all Israel was behind. In the aftermath, as you would expect, all the public opinion was furious. Now we want primarily his head. A sort of mccarthyism followed with all sort of muddy stories of him and his entourage. For now I can't see a better replacement for a PM.
