Israel should stamp them out before they become operational. Israel should also demand that pro-Hizbullah UNIFIL forces leave the area. Those so-called Lebanese Army is no different to Hizbullah. The Litani is about 40 km in most places from the israeli northern border. so did hezbollah fire rockets 40 km away into haifa? they were not north of the litani to move south of the litani anyway, and they are infact at the border. The lebanese villages like aita al shaab and binjbeil are only 2 - 3 km away from the border and they are considered hezbollah strongholds. if israel thought that the unifil or the leb army would stop hezb, then thats a bigger laugh. Keep in mind that the unifil only came after receiving hezbollahs word that it wudnt be attaked.

Both the US and Israel will hit Iran, but the US will handle the majority of it. Bush wants this one with great relish, and now has the assets in place to take it easily and quickly. The Congress now backs him. The focused placement of the Nimitz groupings allow for the entire region to be handled with greater efficiency. These are going to be massive, highly destructive hits. Iran is not able to withstand an attack of this nature. Iran will attempt retaliation in that region via Syria, Hiz, Al Quada, and other surrounding countries/groups they have been supplying and partnering with. Even though Syria has been fortified with plenty of Iranian ordinance, both Iranian native and acquired systems are still very poor, antiquated systems by comparison. The technology and delivery systems are still decades behind. The US/Israeli systems are literally decades ahead, therefore, Syria will probably not get the chance to fire off many missiles. Syria will be taken out quickly, as will the others, regardless of their backing. Bush is out for the big win on this one. He will make sure it happens, no matter what.

First of all, The run for President has always begun at least 2 years before the elections. That is normal here, traditional, and has nothing to do with who is in office. If you knew a damn thing about the US, you would know that. True, Bush is not liked here at all, but he is not a completely lame duck President- the massive US naval armada gathering in the Gulf shows that clearly enough. The Congress backs him fully on this one. He is doing exactly what he wants. Lame ducks can't. Second, if you think it is not about weapons, then go ahead and attempt to move against us without any, and while you are at it, refrain from accepting them from Iran.
