33. Resignations
Douglas Miller ,   Miami Beach, USA   (04.30.07)
Why should Olmert resign? Just because he lost the war with a terrorist gang which resulted in dozens of Jewish deaths & hundreds of injured and caused enormous economic and environmental losses and forced almost 1 million people out of their homes for several weeks. For Olmert to quit would suggest that he had integrity and actually cared about the lives and well being of Israel and the Jewish people. He cares only about his bank account and his stock portfolio. He is one of the worst rulers in our 4000 years of history.
34. beginning of the end
peter ,   sydney, Australia   (04.30.07)
this is only the beginning of so-called Israel, you don't expect to take over country doesn't belong to you and stay on it forever. Palestinians started fighting over, Bchara resigned cause he believes in his country, Not israel, and expect the worst.
35. #6 Jews matter, Hezzie supporters don't
Yoni   (04.30.07)
Bleeding heart liberals don’t question the killing of Jews ever. Proportionate response, civilian targets, all are code words to signify killing Jews is fine but you can’t kill Arabs. Ignoramuses today don’t understand that Israel in a total war with Islam. Wars kill civilians and Israel goes to extraordinary ends to keep those casualties to a small amount, can you say that for Arabs? Of coarse you cannot, they target civilian Jews as their modus operandi. Anyone who questions arab dead and not Israel civilians dying has a black evil Jew hating heart!
36. The art of getting enough quicly amd missing opportuinity
Simon Mohammed ,   Falls Church, VA USa   (04.30.07)
This is what you guys are really good at. You elect them, they do what you want, then you attack them then you look for new condidate to promote and make crazy, is it the luck of experience that the Israeli society has, or excess in democracy or what is it exactely. you ask go to war then you don't like it you ask to cut a peace deal then you refuse it you ask and ask ans ask and then you always want the thing you didn't ask for. this Gov is different and is the one that will make it for you, other wise you will be turning arround and arround in a circle period of 40 years each. I still keep hope and wish you good luck thank you

38. TO ALL ISRAELI CITIZENS
AM I WRONG HERE? ,   NY NY   (04.30.07)
I just pulled up the numbers of the last election, I mean 42% voted for Peretz over Peres, I mean you may not agree with Peres over the years but Amir Peretz has ZERO experience completely unqualified by any stretch of the imagination and WE THE VOTERS put him in this position. Now we want him OUT and who are we going to VOTE for MITZNA or some other egotistical politician who's main concern is NOT the country or our children and our future.
39. It doesn't matter.....

40. to # 31 Wissam
Kotaiba ,   Syria and Lebanon   (04.30.07)
you must be a dumb ass....who said the israelis are stronger now and you also mentioned that our infrastructure is ruined....I want to tell you that was loss or gain is not measured by damaged buildings and bridges (any one stupid can do this...). the israelis after this war is not like before.......bcoz now they know that their army can't protect them anymore from our beloved Hizbullah who taught them a lesson in war that they will never forget and this war has changed the old reputation of israel and forever.........publish if you dare
41. what does it take
yehu ben zohar ,   jerusalem, Israel   (04.30.07)
to get rid of a politicain in Israel? You would think that Stupidity, incompetence and a total failure to grasp concepts that are easy for a 5 year old were required. Heaven forbid, these are the qualities shown regularly by Israeli politicians. They wear these qualities as a badge of courage. the more stupid and asinine their decisions to more determined they are to stay in power. Moishe Feilign was kept from being in the Knesset for reasons of "moral terpitude" for blocking traffic as a protest. However, the king of disruptive actions, Mr. Peretz is minister of defense. The president of the Knesset is out for charges of rape, Olmert is surrounded by charges of corruption in several different matters, the list goes on. It seems the more unqualified these people are the more authority is given them, the "Peter Principle." in action. May HaShem have mercy on his people Israel.
42. Olmert-Livni-Peres reasoning
Amir ,   Beer Sheva   (04.30.07)
"This war will give a tail wind to the Disengagement Plan. It will give us the force and power to continue doing what we did in Gush Katif in the whole of Judea and Samaria." This what the Kadima leaders officially stated in July, 2006 (the words spoken by their leader and brain Olmert)
43. The four key points of Israel's failure
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (04.30.07)
1. Israel exercised excessive restraint in allowing Hizbullah to build up its colossal supply of missiles. These were known about but nothing was done, in the false hope that the missiles would not be used. 2. Notwithstanding the media lies, Israel exercised excessive and disproportionate restraint and moderation in conducting the war against an enemy which deliberately targeted civilians. This severely hampered Israel's chances of success. 3. The ground operation at the end of the war was catastrophically bungled. If a ground operation was necessary (which seems to be the consensus opinion) then clearly the troops went in too late and came out too early. The bungle was such that many soldiers died and nothing was achieved. 4. It is astonishing that the government of Israel accepted such an unfavourable UN resolution and even presented it as being satisfactory.
44. First Reactions to Winograd / Lebanon War Commission report
H.H.M ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.30.07)
Immediate reaction to Winograd Commission partial findings OLMERT YOU DISGRACED ISRAEL STANDING MORALLY AND POLITICALLY and GET WITHOUT DELAY OUT OF GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS FOR GOOD. Maybe this could become an acceptable interim solution! We acknowledge and prepare ourselves to the f i n a l which may bring even more harsher effects than in this interim report. Now months, after months after end of Israel’s longest fought war – 34 days, since its foundation 59 years ago. – And this occurred in Yesterday’s declaration concerning Defense Ministry budget for protection of the Home Front is still pending and unalocated as Deputy Defense Minister Sneh declared “….A third of the year has already passed, and we have yet to receive a single shekel…" “…despite this, the request submitted to the prime minister and the finance minister, was trimmed to NIS 390 million…..” and Dr. Sneh ….- for four months Olmert could not put this burning question up for cabinet discussion / decision. AS PM OLMERT DECLARED SOMETIME BEFORE HE DEALS WITH ONFALLING ISSUES AND NOT WITH ANY AGENDA. - HIS AGENDA APPARENTLY IS NOT CONCERNED WITH SAFETY MEASURES IN THE HOME FRONT. Another of his rather frivilous lighthearted, quick decisions as those who let to the Lebanon Hizbollah 34 day war with 169 Israelis killed (119 soldiers) killed, hundreds of wounded soldiers and civilians, Katyusha bombardments, shortage of air raid shelters of breakdown of the economy and life of the Northern part of Israel including the dangers in the Haifa Bay. In on the other side in Lebanon the casualty figures are not exactly known but must be around a thousand killed ones. – This lecture alone illustrates / proves of Olmert’s inability to lead any country, any population and the N E C E S S I T Y to R E M O V E O L M E R T O U T O F O F F I C E as more than P O T E N T I A L D A N G E R. - With PM Olmert the whole cabinet of 24 ministers become a redundunt and Israel will a doubtful chance of choosing / electing a more reliable and trusworthy government, it will not be easy. Maybe the Israel public should not remain content with the eventual, hopefully immediate, removal of this “FAILED GOVERNMENT under PRIME MINISTER EHUD OLMERT” but should strive to prevent reoccurence of such type of government by trying to deal with the Winograd Commission “aftermath” on some juridical basis like “assistance to an illegal act” as behavior / facts as of this government would be treated in any traffic incident!
45. Kotaiba , Syria and Lebanon

#31 is a childish joke, he has nothing to do with me. my post is number two. so the dumb ass comment is strictly to #31 who didnt use his name, most probably his parents gave him an ugly name after they saw him in the hospital when he came out to life. #31: Beirut is not in ruins. Hezbollah are on the blue line, and hanging huge posters and also rearming like never before, ask Olmert:) Infrastructure is not destroyed. hezbollah is stronger than ever, dont you watch news? we will change our and your government. of coarse stronger now, thats what the report sais. 50. the israeli civilian are the responsible...
avi   (04.30.07)
Few days ago, the french established a new peak of participating in elections with more then 95%, in israel, we established a new negative peak of participating with 40%. The apathy of the Israeli civilians is the main reason for that faliure, we forgot that we chose a one day old party to lead us and a pathetic PM who has no connection and experience with army and a redicioulos DM who has no abilities to manage any strategy. The consequences of the authorities' corruption has also lead the army to appoint a chief of general staff from airforce.
51. For gods sake!
HEZBOLLAH   (04.30.07)

54. #31 hiding the "civil"
(04.30.07)
the major cause of Israel's failure is that the "civil" infrastructure is destroyed , it denoted only absence of strategic objectives.

(04.30.07)

59. to those Pals and Hezzies who delight in this...
Moses ,   sinai   (05.01.07)
remember, next time Israel will not make the same mistake. They will fully pulverize you, instaed of being half-a**ed. And the fact they have a democratic and open inquiry must be bizarre to those that have only repression. Dont mistake this for weakness. Actually it is the opposite.
60. Weinograd Report
Jason Alster ,   USA   (05.01.07)
The report does not mention that Israel's enemies knew that the Great General Sharon was no longer- so why not attack when there is new leader. Israel cries- however, look how many marines have sacrificed themselves in Iraq for freedom. Israel commisions are losing proportion and being smarter after the fact. What if the commission ran the country- whould they even get elected. Since the answer is probably no- then why even have a commission. Or else give up on democratic elections and have the professiors run the country from a University office.
