1. BRASIL
Narah Correa ,   Brasil   (07.30.07)
You're a big ignorant about Brasil, specially about Rio de Janeiro. Next time that you want to talk about us, please visit our city first. You gonna be surprised, belive me. WAITING FOR YOU, GENIUS.......
2. Slavery can also be described as....
Jew ,   Israel   (07.30.07)
Having to give a huge percentage(or any percentage really) of your hard earned income to the government. Living in a country where the Judges have no accountability to the people and represent a tiny, radical-leftist sub-sect. Having controlled media, where the government controls who is able to start a station. The government knowing where its citizens live and how many kids they have. Knowing that your choices are between voting left or double left. It's time for a chance, it's time to return the State back to the people. It's time to be a FREE, JEWISH people in OUR land. It's time for a real leader, a leader with a G-d. The G-d of the Jews!! Moshe Feiglin for PM of Israel!!!
3. I'm not sure about Feiglin, for all the rest N°2 is right
jew too ,   israel   (07.30.07)
4. Jesus said 'he has come to set the captive free.'
m   (07.31.07)
Its the 'love' of money that is at the root of all evil. Before we can walk upright as free men we have to be rescued from this 'love'. It means taking God on faith and believing him when he said " Seek ye first the Kingdom and all these other things [food covering] shall be added to you.And Israel as a nation was a wonderful example , wandering forty years in the widerness , with food and water supplied, wasn't an easy life but it was a deliverance from slavary.
5. Irony of modern slavery
Israel, formerly USA   (07.31.07)
is that it makes "slaves" of supposedly non-slaves - the former have no alternative but to do their job for a pittance, and the latter lose their jobs to them. Israel is one of the last Western countries based on a benign form of Socialism - we have the opportunity to see destructive warning signs and take preventive action against funneling of wealth to fewer and fewer non-workers, leaving little for the workers.
6. True about hundreds of thousands brazilian children, adults
Nelson, Brasil   (07.31.07)
7. Brazil
Raoul ,   Netanya Israel   (07.31.07)
#1 and #6, both from Brazil have very opposing ideas about modern slavery, as defined in the article, in their country. From all that I have seen and heard, I am more inclined to believe #6, the grinding poverty and the hapless children.
8. She doesn't seem brazilian.Maybe Rio is not the best .......
Nelson ,   Rio de Janeiro   (08.01.07)
example but just a few years ago 4 government officials from the Labour Ministry have been murdered by private militia men from brazilian farmers for they were probing a case of modern slavery in their properties. Even a MP was also recently denounced for this and news are just poping every day, on the same subject. Here in Rio some traffic dealers in the favelas have 5 or 6 teens serving them sexually and they kill whoever will dare to date them after they leave them, and the police, besides almost 100% corrupt, dn't dare to enter their domains. No one , in good will can say this is a strange subject in this country. What upsets me is that she doesn't even seem to be a true brazilian for some details in the spelling of her name and her english. So I guess if she is not just another provoker as I catch many talkbackers here pretending , for instance, to be portuguese or brazilian people!
9. To #6, #7, #8 RAOUL, NELSON
Narah Correa ,   BRASIL   (08.01.07)
Easy answer darlings, no one in BRASIL use "Z" instead of "S" in the country name. Now became clear who's brasilian and who's just faking, isn't it "Nelson" ??? And by the way, I'm so "carioca" (natural from Rio) that I had the honor to be among the 90.000 people who shouted "LULA" our #%#%#% "president", two weeks ago in "Maracanãnzinho" at the opening of the last Panamerican Games. Try to do the same with your politicians guys.......Its just delicious........ Enough for you, fellows??????

And Nelson, if you're talking about Unaí (MG), and you were a litle bit smarter, you're for sure had know that the "4 government officials from the Labour Ministry" were triyng to blackmail the farmers threatening them with this "slavery denunciations". That's why the farmers killed them. For sure they're wrong, but you can't say either that the "officials" were right ......... Didin't know the whole story???? Come to BRASIL "Nelson", its gonna be a pleasure show you my country........
11. I write with z, cause in english Narah......................
nelson, brazil   (08.03.07)
Haven't you noticed you've got a better english than me, Narah? Remember Narah: "maracanãzinho" and not "maracanãnzinho" Anyway are you seriously denying so many news about modern slavery in our own nrwspapers? I agree with you that Rio isn't the best example, but what about the countryside? By the way , how many black waiters can we find serving in the restaurants of our touristic city? almost none, if not none at all !!!!!! Do you get along well with that?
12. to # 11 NELSON
Narah Correa ,   BRASIL   (08.05.07)
1 - My english is much worst than yours. Even being a non jewish brasilian woman I NOTICED THAT sweety..........(My small brain aloud me) 2 - Wasn't Maracanãnzinho or either Maracanãzinho, actually was Maracanã..........( just for curiosity, did you hear about it ??? ) 3 - Portuguesians usually don't translade their countries or cities names even when they're talking different languages. Its a matter of PRIDE, you see??? I don't know if you know that but we BRASILIANS are deeply proud of our ways of being. 4 - Do you believe in newspapers, Nelson??? Tell me in what one, in "O Globo" with a debt of 1,5 billion american dollars in the "BNDS" a hostage in "PT" hands, or in "Folha de S.Paulo" or "O Estado de S.Paulo" each one more deeply committed with the "real owners of the coutry" ,the owners of the money disguised of "PSDB" politicians, philosophers, anthropologists or sociologists, saying deep trues about things that happened 7.000 kilometers from them in a total different reality. And even knowing all that you still believing in "our newspapers"??? Congratulations Nelson !!! For sure them you agree with their opinion about Israel too. They are as far from Israel as they are from the "countryside". And we both know how brilliant are "our newspapers" opinions about Israel. 5 - About "Slavery" let me tell you a true: I DON'T KNOW . But I know a lot Brasil "countryside" and I can guarantee you that I PERSONALLY NEVER HEARD ANY STORY ABOUT THIS ANYWHERE IN BRASIL. And let me repeat I KNOW BRASIL "COUNTRYSIDE" A LOT. Maybe that's just another story with political interests. Like "LULA'S" campaign for THE FAMINE, or Brasil being the BIGGEST BLACK COUTRY IN THE WOLRD, or about how the portuguesians killed ALL THE TWO MILLION INDIANS THAT LIVED IN BRASIL WHEN CABRAL ARRIVED. But you probabily believe in all that too................ 6 - About black waiters I never counted, but tell me, how many black swimmers did you see in the Panamerican Games??? And how many white runners in short distance competitions??? Cause I didn't see any in both situations. Do you really think that this was racism too??? Maybe black people are better or prefer other occupations them waiter.....Anyway I have a very good friend who has a restaurant (and by coincidence had a black waiter whose nickname was "Black", in english), and I'll ask him....As soon as get the answer I'll write to you I promissed.......... Maybe is that our difference Nelson, I believe more in my experiences than in other people theories. As you can see, I'm just a poor primeval woman, and I must confess, I get along veeeery well with that.... 7 - And the best for last. Remember Nelson: "newspapers" and not "nrwspapers". As you see is easy make jokes about bad typewriting. Even for people with small brain and unable to believe in everything that is write in "our fantastic newspapers" Kisses, Narah
13. Yes, it's racism Narah
Nelson ,   Rio de Janeiro   (08.06.07)
Most of us don't really notice but it's very clear. It's not like swimming or running, it's about tens of thousands of jobs that don't require too much skills, but are lighter and better paid than our non skilled places of work, but almost 100% denied to black people. I also know one black waiter but that's the exception. As well as you noticed there were only white swimmers and black short distance runners pay attention, from now on, to what I said. I just remarked about the word spelling to show I'm a brazilian and a carioca too!! But it's just true that there many false identities in every chat of the net!! There are many places in our huge country that are not reached by roads and nobody can say he knows the whole country! The news are that in many of these places the workers, who are not registered and get miserable wages, have to buy their goods in the farm's shop, as there isn't any other avaluable, and so they are always "owing" money to the farm and can't leave it. Our country and the world are full of misery and I don't see why it wouldn't be patriotic to point it! Indeed your english seemed perfect in your first post, but none of us are supposed to be perfect or even good enough in a foreign language! Your remark about "even being a brasilian non jewish woman" is also prejudicial and fool!! As we say here............. Kisses, Nelson
14. to #13 NELSON
Narah Correa ,   BRASIL (COUNTRYSIDE)   (08.10.07)
Nelson, I'm in the middle of nowhere (close to Unaí, that's why) in a SMALL propriety (22 hcta, small enough for Brasil ???) belonging to my family. Definitively countryside......... To find a net I had to drive 30 km in a terrain road. The closest neighbor are at 25 km and still the same in the last 40 years...... Strange, no slaves around.......Silent nights, no telephone, sky full of stars, dry, almost a desert, "SERTÃO"............... That's the roots of my family, and that's ONE of the reasons why I know Brasil coutryside so much. Ah, during the trip (by car naturally), lots of black waiters, at the bars by the road. Maybe in MG there's no racism........ But, a question, how did we arrive to "Black Waiters", aren't we talking about "Children whose only dream is a hot meal serving as slaves in Rio de Janeiro" and "5 to 6 teens serving trafic dealers sexually as slaves....." (uau, what a sex fantasy, hot !!!!!!!!!!!! Hum..... gonna tell it to Ali G, the Borat-Sacha Cohen, he's gonna love it ). But the truth is. Even being deeply brasilian, being very proud of it, with a highly tradicional family mixed with the coutry history since the very early days of Brasil I'M ASHAMED OF MY COUNTRY. I'm ashamed of the accident with the TAM flight in Congonhas. Ashamed of the number of times that I landed there, always thinking that one day, something very bad will gonna happen there. And I never did anything about it. Staid using that trap like a idiot, like we all did. Is very easy to find the guity one in that crime. We all are. Members of the brotherhood. And I'm also deeply ashamed of the two cubans athletes being jailed and expeled back in minutes in the same coutry where colombians or italians drug barons as foreigners as them live freely for four, five, ten years, sometimes eternally......... I'm sad with Brasil, Nelson, that's the true. Kisses, Narah PS: Are you a man? Are you jew? If you answer yes to both questions I'm sorry Nelson but we both know that my remark is everything but "prejudicial and fool"
