We have no govt. to resist the pressures on us to take actions not in our interest. America has it's own interests & they are not necessarily ours. It takes a strong govt to stand up to unreasonable demands - & we have no govt at the moment.

What is behind all this is OIL. Yes, and the saudi's are preasuring the bush crownies that no palistinian state, no oil for america. You remember in 1973 what happened. Bush is pressuring Israel to compromise her security in order to placate his Arab "friends" in the Middle East; particularly the Saudis. Only days after the September 11, 2001 atrocities, Mr. Bush announced his vision of a Palestinian terrorist state in Israel in order to fulfill a pledge he made to then Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz in August 2001. Ariel Sharon's initial reaction --- before Colin Powell pounded him into submission --- was the right one: Sharon: "Do not repeat the dreadful mistake of 1938 when enlightened European democracies decided to sacrifice Czechoslovakia for a convenient temporary solution. Do not try to appease the Arabs on our expense. " The rest is history. Bush is the Neville Chamberlain of the 21st century. He is a shame to the Republican party and to the nation.
