1. Lag Bomer fires
roxy ,   Israel   (05.07.07)
The fields by my house are strewn with garbage once again, the whole area smells of smoke, thank you people for all teh loud fire works that scared my dog to death,I tried to walk him, but thanks to those mindless idiots with the firecrackers, he was so scared that his leash broke as he was trying to run off to get away from those noises, that I fell almost fracturing my arm. So thank you selfish Idiots, for not only leaving your tons of trash behind, but also for giving my dog a anxiety attack, poor guy is afraid to leave my bathroom even now> Too bad you people are too selfish to clean up after yourselves, and don't consider other people when you light off firecrackers at all hours of the night. There is only one word to describe you SELFISH!
2. Here here to Roxy

Good for you Roxy. There seems to be a major problem about people not cleaning up after themselves no matter what the event is. Yom Ha'atzmaut is just as bad if not worse. Those damned fire-crackers need to be banned along with that awful foam stuff that they keep on spraying all over cars and shop-windows, bushes, etc... I saw one mother showing her kids how to spray the foam all over a shop window. It's really disgusting. We have a dog too and she's complexed as it is, and she also cowered whenever she heard these bangs going on. However, the fireworks, although my dog is also afraid, at least don't last all night and they are beautiful to watch and something that's done in celebration and not in damage. But the rest should be banned. One idiot took their little poodle dog to see the fireworks. This dog was so distraught and struggling from her owners arms. Such a petrefied animal. Such a senseless thing to do by taking the dog there. In short Roxy - you told it like it is and it is like you told it.
3. I don't recall any fireworks in Meron yesterday or
David E. ,   Jerusalem   (05.07.07)
Motzo'ei Shabbat. And neither have I seen any fireworks in Jerusalem. It must have been in Tel Aviv which is quite some distance from Meron. And as Liza #2 said, when the non-religious celebrate, it's terrible. One thing is certain, if you weren't part of the 600,000 pilgrimage to Meron, you missed something wonderful. Any non-religious celebration, like Yom Ha'atzma'ut can never be compared to this major event.
