5. Great discovery!
Daniel ,   Atlanta USA   (05.08.07)
This is a major discovery that could shed light on the date of Herod's death, which has been subject to speculation. Also, it will be interesting to see if any Biblical artifacts, perhaps even scrolls, have been unearthed. Potentially, this is more imprtant than the discovery of the tomb of Tut.
6. #1 Don't be too cynical about this great news.
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (05.08.07)
After all, there are a lot of believers who know that the cousins are talking out of the side of their necks when calling Abraham a Muslim. The Bible is just truth. And the Brit Hadashah is the Greatest Commentary on the Tanach. Let's all say "Hallelujah." Facts on the ground are facts on the ground.

10. Response to #7
Daniel ,   Atlanta USA   (05.08.07)
Jesus' tomb is somewhere near the Old City wall of circa 30 CE, but he isn't in it. He passed through death into life in his tomb and then got up and left, and he did it so that you and I can do the same. As for the wife and child, he said before he was crucified that we who believe in him are his wife, mother, brother, and sister. Jesus is not about death but about life. As it says in the Torah, choose life! L'chaim!

but keep beleaving that.
13. Check dates
Pat   (05.08.07)
Someone needs to check these dates.. The Roman Senate appointed Herod "King of the Jews" in approximately 40 BCE. Herod died in 4 BCE.
14. It is indeed very interesting...
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (05.08.07)
but it is important to bear in mind that Herod was appointed the King for the Jews being himself not a Jew.He was the son of a converted man and very doubtly a true Jew: and it was some years after him and -probably- because of his failures and mistakes that the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans, and Jews, for the first time, fleed this area to Europe and all over the world. History repeats itself and we should learn from our mistakes because repeating them is dumb at the edge!
15. Gush Katif Council ??
dml ,   Gush Etzion, Israel   (05.08.07)
Shaul Goldstein is the head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council. Gush Katif was destroyed recently (for those who have been away), in a fashion which would made the Romans proud.
16. believe me it is all not true
rashid ,   palistinian   (05.08.07)
this king hermon was never a king in palistine and he was never there, you zionist create new history just to take our land and our shildren there was never jews in palistine we have always been there because we are the original people from ibrahim an mussa believe me i want to see proof that this king hermon lived in palistine
17. #16 rashid
gm ,   south africa   (05.08.07)
You make it so easy to agree. You are right, king hermon was never a king in palestine, it was king HEROD who was a king in ISRAEL. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. By the way, i think you are right about the zionist plot. People lived there thousands of years ago and decided to play a trick on the "palestinian people" 2000 years into the future. They planted false evidence 2000 years ago because they knew it would be funny today. We just can't fool you guys, you are too clever!!
18. #16 King Hermon??? LOL LOL LOL
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (05.08.07)
You have been totally brainwashed! I kind of feel sorry for you! You are being used as a pawn!
19. you are fools believe me
rashid ,   palistinian   (05.08.07)
king hermon king herod it makes no different, i cant see properly because i sit in the dark room but i know we only have palistinian kings in here and that is a fact believe me you can create graves and say it is your king but we know you put this grave after the zionist come form poland and chaya you fool, i am not used as a prawn because prawns are haram and we cant eat them believe me you know nothing about our true faith
20. Illegal Settlers
Long Live Palestine ,   Palestine   (05.08.07)
You illegal settlers try to prove that you have rights in Palestine, you will never get legal and you know that. Herod is part the heiratge and culture of the land that is called Palestine and everything at this mountian that is very close to Bethlehem should not be in Israeli hands cause Israel is illegal occupation and has to leave and now they are not only stealing our land and ability to dream but our cultural heiratage, you theivs and murderers

Question of the day... Name one Palastinian king?..... We're waiting....
23. My dear Rashid
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (05.08.07)
I don't know how old you are, and I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I do hope you have a sense of humor, because I will just have a little fun with you. You are, of course, correct with respect to that Hermon. What those Joooooooos simply will not admit is the fact that Hermon should have been king of all Arabs. But Herod's mother, that boob-shaking, booty-flipping floozy from Babylon weaseled her way into the bed and good graces of Hermon's daddy with all her uncovered meat and got the old guy all wound up. She had him send poor Hermon packing to the frigging mountains and ran her own son, Herod - heaven only knows who his father was -in as a ringer. And that is, of course, why Herod ended up King and poor Hermon only had some mountain named after him. And that's the true story of Hermon and Herod! And now, these Jooos just go around and plant all this "evidence" to suit their supposed history. But you are much too smart to fall for that, aren't you? You know there were no Jews in "Palestine" prior to, oh, l947, and you know, too, that their original homeland was Skokie, Illinois. I tell you, you just can't trust those Joooos!!!!

king hermon. What's your problem?
25. Jesus
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (05.08.07)
I used to think that Jesus was a Jew, because he lived at home until he was 30, took over his dad's business, and his mom thought he was a god. (Hehehehe) Now, however, I'm confused. The guy who cuts my grass has a green card that says he's Jesus. He doesn't know diddly about Israel and he yells things at his one and only disciple in Spanish that I wouldn't want to repeat. Will the real Jesus, please, stand up!!
26. To Mr. Rashid
bob ,   chennai   (05.08.07)
Pls sir learn and think logically before you are making a comment in public...you are denaying some basic historical facts even Muslims are beliving all over the world
27. #1, Palestinain heritage includes jewish elements
Mark Exclamation   (05.08.07)
Too bad u know nothing about those called today Palestinains, but u may be surrprised discovering that naitves of this land have much more in common with the jews of that era than a jew from poland. Anyway, study the Palestinian culture, local rituals and local foods and u'll find how many are jewish. Or speak o the people, they actually know to tell about alot of heritage which they didn't even know is jewish. And btw, Herod wasn't a jew.
28. #13 Date Checking
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (05.08.07)
4 BCE is exactly 36 years AFTER 40 BCE. No checking necessary (in BCE the years run in reverse). Of course there is no way to know how accurate these dates are. Scholars place Herod's demise somewhere between 7 and 2 BCE.
29. #26
rashid ,   palistinian   (05.08.07)
no need for that, sir. Lies, propaganda, terror, suicide bombings and such can rewrite history. What's history, anyway?
30. The only Herman...
Connie ,   VA, USA   (05.08.07)
I could find in the encyclopedia and the blble is Mt. Herman. Since it was the highest of three mountains it was the holist one used by the canaanites to worhip Baal.
