David E. ,   Jerusalem   (05.09.07)
MUST do what is go for ITS OWN citizens & CANNOT and MUST NOT worry what anti-Semites, like the "World Bank", "Human Rights" or "Animal RIghts" say. The PA economy will improve when these terrorists will use the money they receive from the US, EU, UN and other foreign aid for the recovery of their economy instead of weapons.
2. Dear World Bank:
Otter   (05.09.07)
how many Jewish lives would you say are a fair exchange for Palestinian "development"? Give us a number.
3. 18 pages?
Shai ,   Israel   (05.09.07)
Sounds to me like they wrote the conclusion before they wrote the report. Nuff said.
4. to #1
rachel ,   Tel Aviv   (05.09.07)
I agree with you 100%!!!! We are responsible for ourselves and that is difficult enough!!!
5. it is not hard to know the truth
kamla ,   jerusalem   (05.09.07)
after more than 2000 years the archogists knew that yulios ceasar wrote lies about the war against the gal nations .it was by researches /// and now in the time of computer and rapid transport // no truth will be hidden // / yes these cement blocks // and this ugly wall and these check points will not keep the security of israil // this is the truth ..
6. kamla is right
......... ,   gaza   (05.09.07)
if the israili want only their security and do not awar of palastinian economy or life // the palastinian want their life ,do not awar of the security of israil // and so these walls and evil sheck points will never produse the security to any israilian nor palastinian and no security // no ecconomic develop // and this rise of the shekle is illusion or will be illusion after the patience of the palastinian will ended without any diplomatical changes in the conflect the story is more than the sement blocks .. and this is not only the economy of palastinian .. it is the conflect with all the aspects of life /// it is like the second lebanon war ,it is killing of more than 1ooo .lebanees ,destruction of the infra construction of lebanon without winning to israil ..only it discover the weak of israil policy ,army and socioty // and the wild of this nation
7. UN--a pro-terrorist organization!
(05.09.07)
8. Only if World Bank takes over Israel's security responsibili
Daniel ,   Israel   (05.09.07)
We do not want all this extra expenditure. Our economy is hampered by all these security setups on all along long our extra long boarders (for the area we have). We are the highest tax paying community for sake of our security. Will the World Bank take up this responsibility for sake of Palestinian economy and be in charge of Israel's security?
9. Worthless report - WB should fire the authors
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.09.07)
David Craig, the World Bank's director for Israel and the Palestinian territories. "Restoring sustainable Palestinian economic growth is dependent on its (the system's) dismantling." For this genius statement the World Bank probably paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to send people "to the field" for an up front investigation (although I admint I'm speculating here). And the economic genii behind the report concluded this? Where's the part about the Pals taking economic responsibility, ending the systems of endemic graft and corruption, and using transparent reporting that Abu Amar refused to do for decades while he took in billions in aid? And, the bottom line that gives it all away - wheres the call from the WB for the Pals to end their policy of military attacks against civilians, which is the true central reason their economy is a cesspool.
10. Fixed study with predetermined results
Ilan ,   Ariel   (05.09.07)
One organization just parrots the claims of the others, with none ever being held accountable for the disinformation published. Anyone travelling the roads between Shechem and Jerusalem sees loads of Palestinian vehicles moving on the road. The roadblocks are needed to stop or minimize events like the shooting earlier this week near Naalin. As long as these murderers can fire then flee into the nearest villiage with impunity there is no way to secure the roads for those who just want to use them to arrive home safely.
11. World Bank, come to Efrat...
(05.09.07)
Efrat is a settlement built around arab farms. All land from the settlemnt was purchased and legally owned by Jews. the land not owned by Jews is accessible to the arab farmers everyday. By the way, arab laborers in the settlements make a decent living compared to their bretheren. As far as I am concerned we are creating jobs. This is not an economical problem, nor is it political. Until you realize this we will stay on this cycle.
12. Don't give them jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (05.09.07)
13. if anything monetary, it's Severly Harsh for Israel
(05.09.07)
14. Half the West Bank?
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (05.09.07)
Only half? Well, how's about Israel, including Judea and Samaria to the Jews, 100%, and Arabia to the Arabs,100%? By the way, dear World Bank, this later part of the deal is already implemented.

20. Anything To Shift Responsibility.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.09.07)
It couldn't be the fault of violence & terrorism, of corruption, mismanagement, or sheer incompetence. It couldn't be linked to massive amounts of aid flushed down the Palestinian toilet which encourages dependancy & allows terrorism to continue. No, it can only be Israel's fault because we defend ourselves. Of course.
21. finaly
(05.09.07)
A voice of truth coming out from the holyland. Everything that israelis are doing under the so called security. Even by killing innocent palestinian children
22. Palestinians insist on resistance
Sam ,   Canada   (05.09.07)
It's not easy to be nice to Palestinians while they are trying to kill Israelis. The Palestinians have insisted they will continue with resistance until they achieve their aim which is nothing less than the end of Israel. How motivated should Israelis be to make the Palestinians comfortable and fix their economy?
23. #5 & #6
Arthur ,   Israel   (05.09.07)
You want jobs in Israel! You want to earn your brad and butter in Israel! And if you get a chance; you want to blast us? Why don't you turn to your richest brothers, who provide jobs to millions of people around the glob? It is not that they cannot accommodate you; it just a little thing about you, they just don't trust you. Same reason we don't allow you here. About security of Israel; we are capable and can handle it. You take care of yourselves, drop those guns and start flowing in economical stream (you idiots).
24. Ohh the horror,Pan-arbism, Muslim outreach
Ben Temalion ,   Shiloh, MO USA   (05.09.07)
Snuff them out in the bud. They hate your existance. Enforece their right of return to the homicidal, Hamite, peninsular homeland of their own name.So sayeth rabin, faisal, Kahane who?
25. stop terrorism. get your roads back.
(05.09.07)
26. #5 and #6 is the same person
(05.09.07)
27. I hate these pesky Isaelis
Avi ,   Israel   (05.09.07)
I give you an example Last night I was trying to go into a bank to take some loot that did not belong to me and these pesky Isrealis put a security man to guard the doors and an alarm and also a big f**cking lock on tha safe Now if I cant take this money that don't belong to me, this pesky Isaelis are hindering my financial success and my economic recovery, where is the UN, where is the EU where is the world bank where is freedom of speach where is democracy
28. Reports
(05.09.07)
All the reports say the same thing, and yet the world remains silent. How long can this go on? Can all these reports be wrong??
29. NO: Its HAMAS preventing PA recovery
Sammy ,   Newcastle UK   (05.09.07)
Just WHAT HAVE HAMAS achieved for ordinary Palestinians in the time they have been in power? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Ordinary people are poorer, more frightened, more desperate, more resigned, more violent, more lawless.....hopeless. And in order to cling on to power they mask their failures BY BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE BUT THEMSELVES. They ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN CHARGE! Time for Hamas TO GO. For Palestinains at home and especially in the diaspora its utterly tragic to see the wholesale deterioration of society in the short time HAMAS have been in power. They have to GO. But they also have ALOT TO ANSWER TO.
30. #18, 20 and 23 are right
Takan ,   Eilat   (05.09.07)
How can the World Bank (whoever that means) ignored the Gaza facts? Gaza has NO ROADBLOCKS and NO CHECKPOINTS. Did they use their freedom of movement to develop trade and industry? Did they re-use Israeli infrastructures for their own profits? Did they do anything right at all since Israel left? Now we are to believe that if we leave the West Bank, it will become a flourishing place. Who do they try to fool. Sometimes I think the world forgets Israelis are not as stupid and self-destructing as the Palestinians. If the world bank has nothing better to do than care for over-helped, spoiled lazy Palestinians, than send in some teachers and teach them love and respect on a Universal base. Teach them economy and self-respect. Teach them how to be creative and productive. Only then can the world say it helped the Palestinians. Stop sending money that only serves to buy weapons and bombs. Don't expect the Israelis to feel sorry the Pals. Most of the Palestinians have stated many times over and over their will to destroy Israel as a Jewish state (over 90% voted Fatah or Hamas). Let's see Spain help the Basque terrorists with money. Let's see the US help those poor Taleban and Al Quaida fighters dying from cold and hunger in their Afghan desert. Let's have Syria and Iran send some money to help the homeless in Israel. Naa..didn't think so. We will care for our sake and our friends. They can cry for help to their friends, if they have any left.
