I had been listening to these things in India, but again I am surprised to see such things happening in Israel. I just can't believe it.

"Sheker Hachen vehevel Hayofi” should be translated as "Grace is deceiving and beauty is fleeting (temporary)". It is advice on how to recognize a good woman. It doesn't mean a woman should not have those qualities. It means one should not judge her based on them alone but rather on her "Yirat Shamayim" - fear/awe of Heaven. Most of the talkbacks are nasty and miss this simple point. I think Tali missed the point as well.

First, I want to say that I really enjoy reading your articles and find your perspective very fresh for this site...and you're cute too. I was just having this argument with my rabbi this morning whether or not outer beauty is important or not. Ultimately, one has to look for the right characteristics of a potential partner, but at the same time physcial attraction is very important to both men and women. At the end of the day, you're deciding to spend the rest of your ife with someone and that person should at least make you see the beauty in Creation. shabbat shalom
