A few years ago, naive analysts debated over "good mullahs" of Iran - the putative reformers - vs. the "bad mullahs" . But there were no good mullahs. Here too, we're dealing with "good terrorists" of Fatah - who the naive like to call the moderates - vs. the "bad terrorists" of Hamas. But there's only a hair's breadth difference between the two. One uses sweet talk to the West about the "peace process" while the other talks openly about killing Jews and defeating Israel. They differ only in tactics, not long term goals. An Israeli isn't less dead when murdered by Fatah's brigades than by those of Hamas. But under the accommodationist strategy set in motion by Oslo, the naive give guns to those who, on occasion, tell Israel and the US what they want to hear. It's a foolish strategy.
