31. #30....sigh
Eric ,   Israel   (05.16.07)
To say the other side will never compromise is the same as saying all Jews have big noses...its a misinformed stereotype. Perhaps it is fair to say that those in power in the Muslim world are not fans of Israel but I believe it is safe to say that the intellectuals and educated people of the Muslim world advocate for peace with the West including Israel. So if you want to say that the leaders don't like Israel and want to destroy us then I can agree with that but to say their actions represent all of their people is a lie. Would you also suggest that the actions of Israel's leaders during the war with Lebanon represented the will of all of it's people? I wouldn't...just as I wouldn't suggest the leaders of the Muslim represent all of their people. Yes, the Palestinians voted for Hamas but the real "arrogant" presumption is that they all voted for Hamas just to kill us. Hamas offered its people (sincerely or not, irrelevant for this point) an alternative with glossy promises as opposed to a corrupt party who had been in power for over 30 years and achieved next to nothing.
32. Reality Check
Abdel ,   Nablus, Palestine   (05.16.07)
my friends, an operation in Gaza will really achieve nothing for you're side, you will go .. in kill a couple of hundred, and loose some of your own. the end result will be that 'nothing changed' except more anger and distrust on both sides.......and the moment you leave.. the rockets will start raining again...........it only takes one man to fire them.... i belive that the rockets from gaza towards sederot are a big mistake on our behalf, they are wrong, immoral, and harm us more than they harm you. yet i think the only people who could stop them is our side also. some coordination with the PA police, and some Joint patrol along the border might be the solution (or at least an idea) ..of course with the current situation in gaza, all is up in the air... israel made a couple of stratgic mistakes........1 withdrew unilateraly from gaza , yet suffocated it ...so it was up for grabs and that is what is happening right now, 2 placed the financial embargo on the territories which only punishes the average person, as you can see a year and a half of embargo and there are plenty of rockets and weapons....3, believed that the palestinain problem will go away on its own...4 adopted the collective punishment approach, which only strengthens the right wing islamic movements, and makes you the sole reason for misery in the peoples' eyes i know that our side has not made your life easy either, our violence against your civilians has been uphauling to say the least, and i know that some of the stuff you did you had to do.....but i think your leadership and ours are JOKES, they all work for their own gains...thats it!........and i think now is the time to address this conflict for what it is, becuase the more it goes on, the more we both dig our selves in deeper.......... and the more loved ones both sides loose.....don't be happy about what is going on in Gaza, it will affect you, the same way that anything happenging to you affects us........ i mean good ...
33. #32 Good post. If only more people in gaza thought like you

jack ,   usa   (05.17.07)
its the city where david came from. As for the arabs "loving" hebron because of Abraham, I think it was "Abram" the want since its his god they worship today! Not the G-d of Abraham that I follow. And the real rason I think they want to claim him for themselves is so you cant!

Words of wisdom my friend... If you saw the pictures from the fatah member house Hamas stormed in Gaza today, more like a mansion than a house..... that is exactly why people voted hamas, hamas run on an anti-corruption base.. i don't think they were sincere about it (at least at the top), but at the time of the vote.....that was the their strong point that even Christians and some fatah members voted for him them....needless to say that i am not a fan of them, but the truth is that i would rather have them sign on a peace deal than have them as an underground movement, yes they say and do all the wrong stuff, but at the end of the day they are politicians, and they want power. they will say anything to get them elected, but the will also budge under pressure to survive, and stay in power.....forcing them into a corner only makes them stronger.......and what is happening in gaza also proves that they are much stronger after 1.5 years of embargo, than they used to be..........
37. to Abdel
Adi   (05.17.07)
All i have to say is, BRAVO! i only wish there were more Palestinians who thought like you do, it would make things much easier between us.

why don't you start a "peace now" movement in the Palestinian teritories......? i think you have what it takes, go for it.
39. #29 the extremists. But define Arab non-extremists
AK   (05.17.07)
are we at war with the Palestinians and the Arab world or are we at war with extremists? Please list the non-extremisis on the Arab side. Somehow, while counting I haven't run out of my fingers yet. Kindly point out to Arab moderates in Israel or Gaza or West Bank .
40. Erik, they're killing you already; or at least die trying.
AK   (05.17.07)
It doesn't matter if every single Arab didn’t vote for Hamas; those who voted PLO are no better than Hamas supporters, and the innocent rest has no voice, no power, no relevance in this discussion. Uncomfortable truth is that you may decide to fight and win totally, or you'll loose, also totally. If you loose you'll die. There're no other option. Of cause you can leave and hope that the troubles don't follow you, in which case I wouldn't choose Europe, which will have their own problems with 'extremist' Muslims to contend with.

David Severy ,   Baltimore, Md, USA   (05.17.07)
Reasonable "Palestinians" ought to thank Israel for taking out Hamas (or Fatah) extremists. These are the ones who when not able to shed Jewish blood, will shed each others.
