This would be very much appreciated by a lot of people, if it were known. Whether by design or or not, the fact that Israel compensates terror victims just doesn't make the news. This is another one of those things of which the world needs to me made aware.

I could understand the bitterness of those that have posted here, however I am proud of Israel for actively announcing the taxi driver was a victim of terror. Although the article doesn't explicitly say so, it seems that Karaki was also an Israeli citizen (otherwise the compensation law would not even be at issue). From the posts, I sense that many readers feel that he wasn't "really" an Israeli but rather linked by blood to various "Arabs" of other nationalities. I was thinking the same thing. The article said he was an Arab Cab Driver from Jerusalem. Since Jerusalem is part of Israel to deny his family would be to proclaim Jerusalem not being a part of Israel. To suggest his family unworthy of compensation because Mr. Karaki was Arab is racist.
