He who controls the ground, controls the outcome of a conflict. Period. You cannot avoid deployment of land forces, and you cannot allow Hamas to live and breathe. These are daunting tasks. Half Way measures won't work. Fatah is no partner. The Osloites have brought this upon you. It is now intractable. there is no one with whom you can negotiate.
2. 1000 Palestinian rockets not equal to 1 Israeli tank shell
Bo ,   USA   (05.20.07)
Israel rockets, shells, and missiles are very lethal and have murdered thousands of Palestinians. Palestinians have nothing to defend themselves with other than these almost harmless firecrackers, which Israel calls them rockets and the world is accepting this nonsense. Had Israel not occupied Palestine or agreed to end its occupation of Palestine, the mideast would have been much more stable and oil would have been much cheaper to world economies.
3. US's green light wasn't green. Olmert has color blindness !

4. # 2 You are
Guy ,   Israel   (05.20.07)
a small minded, shallow thinking ignoramus of the first degree.
5. Qassam missiles
Sam ,   Canada   (05.20.07)
It wasn't pinpoint bombing that stopped Palestinian suicide bombing or Hezbollah missles. The Arabs don't stop terrorizing Israel until they learn it's not worth it.
6. One more time. With feeling.
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (05.20.07)
Yes. you see it was the fault of many nameless and faceless "others" that I was fooled into not doing the best job that everyone knows I could have done in the disasterous war of last summer. That alter kaker Winograd. What a momser. Here I give him an opportunity to get a little graft and some goodies and what does he do? He tries to get me in trouble. to say nothing of the comptroller. Look. I need another chance OK? Gaza? I can do it. Send me in Coach. And if it does not work out, well, ...I can blame the schlepper Peretz(what a Putz).
7. President Bush won't permit Israeli Victory
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.20.07)
Olmert does not serve Israel. He serves President Bush. And this is why next week he will again talk about removing Jes from Judea and Samaria for the Bush dream of a Palestinian state. Under Olmert there is no way the terrorist in Gaza will be defeated. Olmert will do nothing of value. Instead they will be helped with weapons and money because the Puppet Olmert does what he is told to do by the destroyer of Israel under the guise of peace.
8. Bo (2), that's tripe.
sk ,   USA   (05.20.07)
I suppose that Israel is to blame for the Iraq-Iran war? Or perhaps Iraq's invasion of Kuwait? Or Arabia's seizure of land from other Gulf State potentates (nobody remembers this)? Or Pakistan's wars against India, for that matter? Simply because the Pals can't engineer worth a damn (they have no good universities, after all), it doesn't follow that Israel should avoid using its superior technology. You see, the Pals SHOULD suffer because of their single-minded focus on killing Jews. Of course, these "sticks" are not "harmless firecrackers." Anyway, in the US, firecrackers are highly regulated. Oh, and "Bo" (aka Mohamed), the "Palestinians" occupy Israel, and they need to get out.
9. Deja Vu All Over Again

Olmert and Peretz talk and leak too much, and act too little and too late. Shades of the Second Lebanon War. Election now, vote for Rabbi Lau!!

Gary A. MD ,   Boston USA   (05.20.07)
Is this guy for real. Nothing he says makes sense or is believable. I'd rather have Sharon in a coma then Olmert. How is it that such a putz can lead Israel.

19. Solution
Otter   (05.20.07)
Israel should demand the following: Either the international community (Bush and his Arab friends, the Eurabians, everybody) put pressure on the Palestinians to stop their aggression against Israel, or else Israel withdraws from any - and I mean any - participation in the so-called peace talks. And to any further aggression, Israel would respond in kind and then expand and fortify its settlements in the WB. There is no other deterrent, in my opinion, to the relentless violence perpetrated against peaceful communities such as Sderot. Israel has demonstrated its willingness to compromise with its policy of disengagement (big mistake). Now the world is watching the Palestinian vicious response, which is not the way to a peaceful solution. So in the meantime, Israel withdraws from the roadmap to peace charade. Just tell the Arabs, call me when you're serious about peace. But the first step is to get a pro-Israel government. How ironic that the hardest part is not defeating the enemy, but the very basic need for Israel to elect a government that will truly protect the country and its citizens. That should be a given, but not in Israel.

Tracy W   (05.20.07)
You are right to point in the direction of the US government as the reason why Israel is in this situation. It does no good to criticize the Israeli government without understanding what motivates Olmert and Kadima. They are under the complete control of the Americans and the Saudis. Unless someone steps forward and breaks that fatal connection, Israel will continue to self-destruct.
21. world know Israel occupies Palestine, ur BS won’t change
Superman ,   USA   (05.20.07)
that fact. Mideast used to be one the most tranquil regions of the world prior to the arrival of Jewish terror groups in Palestine in the 1920’s and 30’s. It has never been quiet or peaceful since then.
22. oh boy Olmert instills such confidence. we're sure to win
aaron ,   ra'anana   (05.20.07)
23. You are all giving the wrong response to "Bo"
Rav Reuven Carmel ,   Jerusalem, ISRAEL   (05.20.07)
The correct response is: "If the Kassams are harmless, why not come to Israel, bring your wife and children, and spend some time in Sderot?" If there is no danger and this is all some kind of weird Israeli lie, surely any decent person would be willing to put his money where his mouth is and prove his point. Bo, name the date that you're arriving and I'll go to Sderot with you. We'll get some ice cream and your kids can have some fun watching all the harmless fireworks. Looking forward to hearing from you!
24. Occupy and evict Rafiach and Philadelphi rout
Lemmings Hotline ,   San Diego USA   (05.20.07)
The IDF should make a 1km buffer between Egypt and Gaza to prevent smuggling of advanced weapons and (2) to protect the Israeli soldiers that are guarding the border.
25. Bogged Down With Olmert.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.20.07)
We're the ones who are bogged down - this gov't is in a state of paralysis.

malcolm   (05.20.07)
FLUSH OLMERT!!!
27. Bogged down
David ,   Sydney   (05.20.07)
There is no need to get bogged down. It is time Israel launched an all-out offensive against these terrorists. This offensive should include napam attacks and multiplebombing raids on terrorist infrastructure
28. 23:You & family spend 1 night in Gaza and see Israeli
Bo ,   USA   (05.20.07)
bulldozers level your house or watch Israeli settlers take your land in front of your eyes, or see Israeli troops locking you in your house for days, or see Israel F-16 drop ½-ton bombs in your neighborhood, or see Israel Apaches fire deadly missiles at cars and bystanders, or watch Israeli tanks shell your neighbors to pieces, or Israeli troops come and abduct your kids at midnight, or Israeli troops stop you for hours at a road block…… This is Palestinian life under Israel occupation, it is hell on earth.
29. sight
