Mike ,   Atlanta USA   (05.21.07)
Egypt to redeploy troops to Gaza and Jordon to redeploy troops to the West Bank? I thought these countries specifically don't want to do this.
2. Here's a Livni SPINNER at work
malcolm   (05.21.07)
OK... Olmert is almost out. So the Livni spinners tried their first push a couple months ago in the press. She quickly became the darling of the left! Clean as a whistle and non corrupt..BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ....PURE PUKE. But She fell on her face a few weeks ago when she followed the polls and believed in her own spinners. After defecting from Olmert, she stayed in the government and lost her credibility. Despite all her cute coyness her ambitions were finally betrayed by her actions. So now the press pushes Malki in front of us hyping Livni's new plan. Now we have them pushing the latest insane experiment of the brainless Mistress of Disaster. Only SHE could have concocted such a hair-brained scheme. It smells too much like the hand-tying Lebanon Surrender. EVERYONE , including the Palestinians, knows that Gaza has to be totally flushed out at some point by the IDF at ENOURMOUS cost. Under Livni's watch, over 50,000 pounds of explosives have poured across the border. Millions of bullets,Thousands of AKs and a vast array of anti-tank & anti-aircraft missiles are in Gaza, where there were few before Livni's Katif Experiment. EVERYONE knows that each and every day the biggest losers in the history of Israel stay in power , the harder the job will be for the men of the IDF in the end. The spinners of these Livni "ideas" are the same A-holes that crawled to Arafat's feet begging for an audience. Sure Malki is a voice of sanity in the insane Palestinian Martyr Mickey world. But he is being exploited by the left in the press who have a Livni agenda. They are disparately hoping that one of her "ideas" will finally work and can be used as part of her eventual campaign. Their agenda is to push the Intern of Foreign Affairs into the prime minister's seat. FLUSH OLMERT!!! FLUSH LIVNI!!!
3. Only Israel can bring peace. B"H

Dovi ,   Phoenix USA   (05.21.07)
Of course Egypt and Jordan don't want to do that. It might actually help the situation and the people. But since both countries have a vested interest in keeping the population fighting amongst themselves and keeping up the rocket attacks on Israel - they won't do anything to help.
5. Amazing how the good pal director-general
sk ,   USA   (05.21.07)
sounds just like a typical Ynet (Jewish) columnist.
6. Wouldn't Egypt and Jordan have done this already if
It'll never happen ,   USA   (05.21.07)
they wanted to get involved?
7. No offense but dream on Malki
Korem ,   New York, USA   (05.21.07)
There is no way the Arab League will agree to any of your proposition.
8. Delusions
GW ,   Potomac, MD   (05.21.07)
I wish your idea were that simple. I think Perhaps it's idealistic to think that an Arab peacekeeping force would keep internecine fighting down, but it's delusional to think that it would prevent terrorist activity and a buildup of arms against its neighbor. Witness the Egyptians' lackadaisical support of the Rafah crossing, where Palestinians continue to smuggle in arms, fighters and who knows what else. Hamas is very poweful and is effectively in charge of the government, but it's stated mission - to destroy the occupiers (Israel) has not changed. Adding a Jordanian/Egyptian component would make it much more difficult for Israel to retaliate when (not IF) it's attacked from Gaza and must defend its sovereign territory.
9. Arab troops on Israel's borders
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.21.07)
People haven't stopped laughing at the Hanna Siniora article. The last time Arab troops gathered on Israel's borders, there was a "Naqba" and then there was an "Occupation."
10. d
d ,   d   (05.21.07)
and who exactly is saying "It was better during the occupation" ? Ynet did its research so well it forgot to cite the non-existent palestinian Uncle Tom
11. Jordan/Egyptian Forces
Millard Wheeler ,   USA   (05.21.07)
Your solution is too logical and common sense. But neither country wants to take the risk. They realize that Hamas has no respect for anyone, not even themselves. Hamas is a bunch of dumb losers. The two countries fear the internal strife will spread to their nations if they get involved. So nothing is going to be accomplished. Business as usual or lack of business is more like it.
12. Send in Arab troops
Josef L Klein ,   Ottawa   (05.21.07)
Would the Arab League be prepared to loose troops to suicide bombers from the first day on which they set foot in Gaza? I think not, which is why its never been suggested by an Arab leader.
13. the devil's advocate
israeli ,   israel   (05.21.07)
Bring in the Trojan horse. Why not invite Iran and Syria to do the peacekeeping?
14. You are seeing Iran and Syria's version of piece keeping
Steve ,   USA   (05.21.07)
B"H All those pieces that are lobbed into Sderot, Iran and Syria have been keeping in stock for this occasion. There are even a few pieces set aside for Christian Lebanon that make big craters. If you want more piece keeping and delivery, invite in more piece keepers.
15. Arab Riad Malki suggests back door Arab invasion of Israel
Chanan ,   USA   (05.21.07)
Pure and simple.
16. everybody risk lives for palestians eccept palestians
zionist forever   (05.21.07)
Yesterday we had articles saying how Israel must provide millitary support to Fatah. Now we have articles about Egypt and Jordan sending troops into Gaza. Israeli troops would end up getting shot at and Fatah accused of colaberation if Israel tried to provide millitary support. Egypt and Jordan would have their people killed and dragged into the Fatah/Hamas conflict and they are smart enough to not get involved. Now and again arab leaders will call on the palestians to stop the fighting and there will be a ceacefire for a few days then it stats again. The arab leaders know better than to get involoved the palestians need to sort this one out for themselves without help from anybody else.
17. # 13 They are there ALREADY !!!!
malcolm   (05.21.07)
Hams has sent terrorists to Tehran for training and there are Hizbollah and Iranian "advisors" in Gaza. The Sinai is nothing less than a colony of Iran. The desert houses over a hundred weapons depots and the Egyptians take payoff to look the other way. As long as it's happening underground the EU laughs it off. This is how Kadimah set it up. That is why they won't take action. It implicates them in creating this disaster. It make Livni look like the imbecile she actually is. So she take the "international peacekeeping" option she took in Lebanon. In other words , tying Israel's hands behind their balls.
18. Even if .....
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (05.21.07)
For some crazy reason the idea whas even considered, do we know of ANY arab troops orderly enough to even participate in that job ? The idea is interesting....it shows that fighting brothers need to have parents taking care of them ! The arab league ? What have they done recently to help Palestinian solving their own issues ? The Egyptian forces ? The best way to get some Muslim Brotherhood reps setting up shop in gaza. The palestino-palestinian conflict is related to the activity taking place in Lebanon. It is NOT an isolated problem. Both are connected. The arab league has not demonstrated its willingness to help in the name of the "arab nation " ( this remind me of the dark years when a man was talking about the german nation ! ) Gangsters remain gangsters, propagandists remain propagandists. No real nee to introduce a wolf in the sheep's barn.
19. arab troops will create stronger terrorists to kill Israelis
zionist forever   (05.21.07)
After the Lebanon war Hizbollah were seriously weakened then Olmert invited foreigners to act as peace keepers and now Hizbollah are stronger than they were before the war. Invite arab troops to act as peace keepers and the terrorists will come out of it stronger than ever espcialy as the peacekeeper are arabs who support the palestians cause at least in Lebanon they were Europeans. Israels will pay the price of trying to stop ppalestian infighting it doesnt matter if its arab soilders or Israeli ones its Israel who will come out of this on the loosing side only leaving the palestians to kill each other wont cause Israeli deaths as part of the solution. If the palestians are responsible enough to have a state of their own then they need to be responsible enough to deal with a fight for power without foreign soilders being needed to save them from themselves.
20. never
(05.21.07)
both egypt and jordan, themselves responsible for these palestinians they didn't incorporate into their countries as citizens. both responsible for the misery the palestinians suffer for a long time. both responsible for using them as pawns and proxies in their fight against israel's existance since they know that militarily they can never defeat the idf and therefore invented palestinians and palestine as a war tool against israel's existance.... BOTH HAVE NO INTEREST, NO INTEREST AT ALL IN HELPING SOLVE THE PALESTINIAN DILEMA AND THE VIOLENCE IN THESE PARTS. THEY ACTUALLY WANT THIS TO CONTINUE SO THAT THEY CAN SAY... SEE, ISRAEL AND THE OCCUPATION IS TO BLAME FOR ALL THIS TROUBLE. so, anyone thinking that both jordan and egypt will enter with their own forces to calm the palestinian faction and their vilence is misguided. for them, it will be the worst move ever. because if they succeed, god forbid, israel can enjoy some type of modicum of peace and quiet....and this, both these countries are not willing to do. the peace between israel and egypt/jordan is as fake as ever. it is a peace on a s*tty piece of paper which means nothing and never did. the only reason these two countries have agreed to it is to get their lands back from israel after we conquered and beat them shamefully during all wars they have started. they finally understood that we are here to stay and that there is no way on earth anyone, even 7 arab nations' armies can defeat israel and the idf. in order to not suffer further humiliation, they gave up, got their lands back and voila! a somewhat peace agreement. NOW, IF ONLY THE "palestinians" can be so smart, they'll save themselves years of grief and death by the hands of their people or the idf. they must choose! the world will give them a country when they renounce violence, put down their arms, recognize the existance of israel as an independent viable democracy/country with legitimate borders and empty their territories of thugs that are not interested in the least of making the palis progress towards attaining their independence and self determination.
21. Finally, A Good Idea
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.21.07)
"Send Arab troops to Gaza." I like this idea. Do it.
22. I must say on the 40th anniversary of the SIx Day War
(05.21.07)
That the entire POINT of that war was specifically not allow a situation where Egyptian and Jordanian soldiers are breathing down upon us. You sir are a complete fool.
23. Such B.S.: they'll work just like the Egyptians...
BOBBY SOLO ,   Italia   (05.21.07)
Such B.S.: they'll work just like the Egyptians did, INSTEAD of stopping the entry of weapons, ammunitions and explosives into Gaza, they HELPED IT. Why would they risk anything to "suppress the legitmate anger of the Palestinians?" THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO SHOOT BACK WITH ALL WE HAVE, TO MAKE IT UNBEARABLE TO KEEP ON SHOOTINMG ROCKETS AT ISRAEL. The ONLY proportionate reaction to someone who is SO TUPID to shoot at a tank with a machine gun, is NOT to shoot back with light weapons, but to SHOOT BACK WITH HEAVY WEAPONS< so that he undesratnds that it is better NOT TO BOTHER SOMETONE WHO IS STRONGER, and if the don't get it, LET THEM DIE! After two weeks of rockets and bombs on Gaza, MAY BE, we'll see what we have NEVER SEEN: a PEACE MOVEMENT ON THE ARAB SIDE!
24. G-d Forbid Arab troops on Israel's Door
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (05.21.07)
Completely insane. Can you imagine Arab troops on Israel's border?
25. wow, what a truly splendid and stupid idea
griff ,   tacoma   (05.21.07)
let's see if i got this right, sned arab troops to israel's borders, some might say into israel's territory. and the last time arabs were ther what happened? oh that's right, there was a war in which they were trying to kill every last jew. wow what a great idea. on the other hand though, some interesting points have been made that these countries wont do so because they know it's hopeless and they dont want to be drawn into the conflict, but that's beside the point. the simple fact of the matter is that egypt and jordan only have slightly normal relations wiht israel, i'm not sure about jordan, but i know that egypt's relationship with israel is viewed, as cold at best. why would we invite our enemies to our doorstep with the intention of asking them to get rid of our enemies. any enemy, of an enemy is a friend. needless to say israel would never do this, but do the palestinians ever think before they make these suggestions, these statements futher prove that they cant govern themselves. maybe the civilians in gaza and the west bank should stand up to the terrorists, that would show that the people truly did want peace. i only hope i can live to see it in my day, i guess i have 70 odd years left, hopefully that's enough time.
26. Israel is special
Eliyahu   (05.21.07)
Why is it that every country in the world, if rockets fall on its civilians, declares war, and sends its army against the agressors, but when the country in question is Israel, it seems logical that we should arm the enemy? And that as soon as the rockets stop falling, we should send our own army in to fionish the job and destroy what is left of those cities. Left-wing must be a form of brain damage. They just don't make any logical sense.
27. why don't we just leave them to it..let them
johanna ,   tsfat   (05.21.07)
kill each other in gaza if that's what they want to do.. or let them sort it out..and kiss and make up...:) but let's stay out of it as long as they aren't killing us. they got all those hot houses..so they could earn good money.. and what did they do with them ? - they trashed them...so let them live with the consequences of their actions. i feel sorry for the regular people in gaza who just want to live normal lives.. without trying to kill anyone...including us.. or be killed by anyone.. but how many of them are there.. let them speak up now.
28. great idea-just make sure all of them have beards:):):)
ora levi   (05.21.07)
as we learned from jerusalem post-there is a nice little plan in gaza for ppl with beards.....
29. Yah! SURE
Asher ,   Yerushaliyim   (05.21.07)
What is a "Arab multi-national force". Enough of this garbage. Arab countries are run hard with ruthless dictators, and now the arabs here in Israel are showing their true colors. You want peace???? I invite all the arab countries to WELCOME back there respective citizens. It is amazing, all the articles by experts, Profs., Directors etc, and not of you can bring peace. You answered the problem yourself. Go back to Jordon & Egypt. to save your people.
30. Send Arab armies to Gaza
I. Barr ,   USA   (05.21.07)
Gaza has no viable territorial relations with the West Bank and is different in many ways from them. Gaza is a continuation of Sinai, was controlled by Egypt and is the natural outlet for population explosion. Gaza should be adnexed to Egypt.
