1. Now this is sad

Imagine living in a country where you can hardly speak the language and are struggling to make ends meet and want your kids to live a good life with good education, that is already bad enough, and now imagine that rockets are falling on your city and killing and injuring dozens and damaging huge amounts of property so that you're living like a refugee with the people of a country you still have not had the time to connect with. Now this is sad.
2. Like the Boy Scout Motto: Be Prepared

The problem with post #1s analysis, is that it doesn't criticize Israeli preparedness. Israel has been at war since 48, and it's cities further north have been attacked for decades. I cannot understand why the Lebanese war disrupted Israeli life (poorly equipped shelters, etc) and now Sderot? It reminds me of the 73 War, and the attitude of Israeli prior (some bravado, some malaize). Sharon saved the Sinai from being overwhelmed..and maybe parts of Israel would today be occupied. Israel must do better in my opinion. It has and will also have enemies which want it to disappear. That is the reality of life there..which has been denied for too long by too many people.
