Lets see. #1. end all exports of oil from Iran. It will hurt us certainly, but expensive oil is less painful than no source of revenue. 2. End all exports of Pistachios from Iran. Iran's #2 export is harly an essential we cant live without. 3. Blockade to prevent the importation of any refined petroleum product into Iran. Iran has lots of oil but no ability to refine it. The irony of bringing an oil power to its knees simpy because it cannot even expoit its own resources. After that, lets revisit hi scomments 6 months later, and lets see how the average Iranian feels about the omniscient protection of their sprirtual leader. You cant power a country with faith!

The man has good reason to laugh at the west. He has Russia and China with their security council vetos in his back pocket so they wont allow the UN to pass any sanctions that would hurt Iran. The US doesnt have the stomach for another fight right now with Iraq and Afghanistan the US is also worried that hitting Iran will result in more terrorism in Iraq carried out by Iranian supporters and nobody wants the oil prices to go up. The Gulf States like Saudi Arabia who have a growing amount of influence in the US dont want to upset Iran just in case they are one of the targets. Israel is the only one who would allmost certainly be affected by an Iranian relatialtion who things that getting hit by Iranian rockets with conventional warheads today will be better than holding out for the neuclear warheads tommorow. Ahmadinejad reall is holding all the cards here and unless either the US is willing to be brave enough to carry out air strikes against the neuclear sites and other Iranian millitary targets or Russia and China dont use their veto and Russia ends its contract to build these neuclear facilities for Iran then Iran is going to be the new big boy in the Middle East and eventualy a global power with nukes, terrorists and oil.
