When reporting to Sderot, the CBC refers only to the number of rocket attacks that Israel has suffered in the last week or so. No mention is ever made of the fact that these attacks has been going on for a long time. Also, no Palestinian is ever a "terrorist" on their reports, no matter how much carnage they cause. The CBC is funded by public funds, that is, by all of us taxpayers, but it has become a medium for the interests of the Muslim community. It's also unequivocally anti-Israel, in its own low-key Canadian style. Their idea of balanced reporting is to place a Palestinian vis a vis a Left wing Israeli.

The 23 year old terrorists that shot the security men are indeed Muslim and are residents of the Village Jable Mukaber which means Mukaber's mountain in Arabic and it is located and part of the Jewish neighborhood Armon Ha Natsiv in Jerusalem's Talpiot neighborhood. It is in Jerusalem and not near Jerusalem as the writer wrote. The Village is a 3 minute walk from the Promenade that over looks the wailing wall as seen in most pictures, the village residents all have Israeli residency and Jordanian citizenship, there are a few exceptions though. Jabel Mukaber is adjacent to village Tsur Bacher which is the back side of Mr Elius Monastery. In the past 10 years many terrorists came from these 2 villages to mention a few: A man in his 20's from Jabel Mukaber was caught before he poisoned clients at a popular bet café in Jerusalem last year, another from Tsur Bacher has tried to blow him self up at a restaurant in the German colony in Jerusalem 10 months ago but his explosive device failed, 4 years ago an IDF Cobra helicopter fired a rocket at a car leaving Tsur Bacher that carried 4 armed terrorists killing them all. A father and son were stabbed in Armon Ha Natsiv and died while waiting for a bus at 06:00 by a terrorist from Jabel Mukaber 5 years ago. Rapes, attempted rapes, sexual assaults, beatings, car burnings, car theft, home invasions are too often associated with these 2 villages. The residents of these villages work at gas stations, health clinics, restaurants, garages, own construction comapanies and do their banking in Jerusalem, own and provide taxi services to the residents of Jerusalem, all residents of these villages make use of all public services and parks freely and daily without and provocation by their Jewish neighbors. There are no road blocks and these villages have 5 roads each in which they can enter and exit their homes freely 24 hrs a day. Now if Israel decides to beef up security and the police decide to take precautions the terror supporter groups will cry that their human rights are being violated but when terrorists from these villages are killing those same cry babies are not to be seen nor heard of. As longs as Israel's government does nothing this and more will go on, maybe when Jerusalem gets rocketed from Nablus and Ramallah then maybe some Minister in parliament might wake up. Daily Muslim youth from these villages walk freely all over the Jewish neighborhoods but a Jew couldn't walk freely in these villages and that says allot in itself.

Many of you point out that he is Druze and thats alright by me but I think he felt himself doing his duty as a proud ISRAELI citizen and like any other sound, reasonable citizens wants his country safe and is willing to serve it. He doesn't care about the identity of the state in name so long as it lets him live freely, and it does. And the soldiers that took him to the hospital, the medical staff there, and the people that visited him probably came from several different ethnic backgrounds, because of identification with fellow citizens and support for his bravery. I see this as further evidence that Israel can be a Jewish state in word and in some policy areas but also without contradiction be a state for all its citizens- at least those citizens who are willing to give before they take.

There is so much we don't know about life in Israel. Since not everything is reported in the mainstream media, we learn a lot by reading good comments with first-hand knowledge such as yours. Thanks.
