1. Intolerance from religious parties
semsem ,   New York,USA   (05.28.07)
Sad that the most intolerant are thereligious, whether they are Jews,Moslem or Christian.
2. Golden Calf and Gay Parede one and the SAME !
ben ,   singapore   (05.28.07)
Anyone encourage this kind of abomination is WORSHIPING IDOLS here being HOMOSEXUALITY ! Very SORRY, take this to the ARAB NATION elsewhere. NOT IN ISRAEL PLEASE ! Cross over this SIDE, for we have the TORAH : - )
3. I AGREE GAY PRIDE IN JERUSALEM IS WRONG ALL THE WAY.
TOM BENS ,   USA   (05.28.07)
4. YOU CANT HAVE GAY PARADE AND NOT EXPECT 'GD' TO HIT THE JEWS
THE JEWS WILL SUFFER ,   IF PARAE GOES ON   (05.28.07)
5. blah blah oh and another thing!
grrloz ,   Sydney, Australia   (05.28.07)
Why not target everyone who is hetero & living in sin (achem....so to speak) and make anything premarrital against the law. The lets stop anyone non jewish from entering or exiting the old city, and while you're at it, why not have a modesty ban, and not just for the old city BUT for the whole of Israel, including everyone wearing t.shirts. But don't stop there, enforce a bill against shorts, skirts above the knee, and v-neck tops, the wearing of makeup and everything in the colour red. Howz about single women walking alone - I'm sure that could be construed as immodest in a democracy, so lets introduce a bill called Tzniut, which legislates against all of the above. But don't just stop those evil gays from having their "parade" (that's how you spell it Ben in 2), why not find out who all the gays are through a census, and then get rid of them all, you know like final solution.. Remember? Remember..Well do YOU! Don't forget Yishai, when you start taking away rights, and you legislate to enable legal restrictions on minority groups...bad things happen. very bad things happen. You can legislate all you like, but you cant stop me from coming to Jerusalem and walking down Ben Yehuda Street waving a big huge gay flag. What are you gonna do? Shoot me?
6. rolling over in our graves
david & jonathan   (05.28.07)
7. "the Abominable gay man"
W. Hutchinson ,   Toronto, Canada   (05.28.07)
As a Christian, I wholeheartedly view gays as abominations and as sexually perverted animals. We have the lion pride....familiy of lions. So we have the gay pride...families of dirty homos and lesbians. Of course, hate not the person, but the wicked acts they commit. Ban any such parades of perversity.....nip it in the bud. Why do you suppose God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? Gays who wanted to partake of the angels who were guests of Lot. Wayne Hutchinson, Toronto.
8. It's abig enough country. Have it in secular Tel Aviv, but
Stewart ,   USA   (05.28.07)
the pictures I've seen of this parade are so in your face disgusting, it seems less like free speech and more like the ugly gay in your face routine.
9. "harmful to the feelings of the religious public"
John ,   Maaleh Adumim,Israel   (05.28.07)
Hurts feelings? "Waaaaaaaaaaah! Somebody, hurry up and call the waaaaaaaaambulance!" What a bunch of babies....they are willing to stifle free speech, one of the most fundamental rights, because it hurts their little feelings....
10. Let the Hesder units handle the next parade
Mordchai   (05.28.07)
Should be over in a few minutes if they even dare to show their faces.
11. Leave us alone
mike ,   Jerusalem   (05.28.07)
As one Moslem Sheikh said "Go march in Sodom" Leave us alone , do not push your perversions in our faces. We do not need to know your business. Perhaps next the drug addicts, prostitutes, gamblers, murderers, thieves, pedophiles, and those who have do dirty deeds with sheep will also want to march ?
12. Ban the March
Shalom   (05.28.07)
All those who hold Jerusalem as Holy, should make every effort to get their voice heard and stop this annual attempt by marginal groups to pervert the City more than it has been perverted already. Didn't Israel suffer enough last year in order to stop the march from taking place? A repeat could be much worse . . .
13. grlloz- stop rambling and think Semsem- you got it wrong
jack ,   jerusalem   (05.28.07)
First of all, your analogy is wrong. If there was a parade of girls in bikinis, then everyone would make a fuss about it. Noone is gonna stop you if you walk with your partner in Jerusalem; just dont make a parade about it. Secondly, why cant you hold it in Tel Aviv ?? Semsem--- why is it that the people in whose city you are intruding are considered intolerant, and the people who come to march are not considered insensitive for marching in Jerusalem when they can just as well march in Tel Aviv and noone will stop them.
14. Undermining a democratic society
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens,NYC   (05.28.07)
Democracy depends on tolerance for the views of others. This type of supression and bigotry is something I thought only the Taliban, Hamas and the Saudis put into practice. Well, at least You'll be ble to point to this moment when Israel failed as a democracy.
15. Give It A Rest .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.28.07)
This is a non-issue. Compared to our other problems, this is of no importance. Anyway, the subject is kind of played out .... If you don't like the Gay Parade, don't partcipate. If you do like the parade, then feel free to join it. But like it or not, there will be a Gay Parade.
16. By The Way .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.28.07)
Mr Yishai from Shas should not talk about "devious & marginal groups" since he represents one. Tell me, Mr Yishai, why are you still in Olmert's coalition?
17. If an anti-religious parade is ok in Jerusalem, then ..
(05.28.07)
then gays should allow an anti-gay parade in Tel Aviv. but the religious are not interested in organizing any anti-gay or anti-anyone else parade in the streets and hurting the feelings of gays and people with other belief systems, so gays should also keep their believes to themselves and not impose them on the religious. Honestly I don't think these are the gays who keep insisting on parading their naked bodies in the holy city. It is most probably the leftists who under the influecne of anti-Israel European and American leftists and maybe some Arab infiltrators are trying to self-appoint themselves as the speakers of the gay community. This devious international attack on Jerusalems' Jewish community must be stoped and gays should be more outspoken on their dedending their own Israeli religious borthers and sisters, instead of siding with international infiltrators with whatever devious political plans they may have. I have no problem with gays but if they believe their rights should be respected , they too should respect the religious community for their believes. The last time I chekced no gays were killed or hanged or arrested in Israel. Its in Saudi Arabia and other coutries that such things happen.
18. To # 5
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (05.28.07)
Sinning and being proud of it in public are two VERY different things. So, the answer to your last question is yes, you should be shot, in as much as this is the prescribed punishment according to the Torah and the Torah is THE LAW for Jews. This is not a question of "acting against a minority" as you put it. It is a sinning group that PROVOKES the Jews (and all the others) in the Holy City, a most anti-Semite act, if you think it through.
19. to # 14
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (05.28.07)
For Israel and for the Jews it is a lot better to "fail as a democracy" rather than to fail as the Jewish State. There are lots of democracies in the world, there is only one Israel. So, let's keep The Holy Land - well, holy.
20. Excelent bill.
Keren ,   SP-Israel   (05.28.07)
Trying to make gay parades in Yerushalaim is a clear and insane provocation from these people, the gays. It doesn't fit at all in that city.At all!
21. Jerusalem is a holy city to many \good idea.
m   (05.28.07)
jerusalem is a holy city to many and it is a provocation to stage a parade that advertises a sinful life to the sensabilities of men of faith. Not everyone has fallen prey to the propoganda that is used to present the homosexual act as an alternative lifestyle. And one way you can tell its a propoganda tactic is the name calling ; like 'homophobic,' to anyone who tries to set them straight, and because people hate to be labeled, they don't speak up .
22. Recognize Your Real Enemies
NYC Girl   (05.28.07)
The people who'll be marching in the gay pride parade are not your enemies. They aren't blowing themselves up in your shopping malls, they're not killing your families in drive-by shootings, and they're not trying their damnedest to annihilate your country. It's time for those whose religious sensibilities are offended to stop ranting and raving about "sin" and recognize where the real threat is coming from.
23. The Gay bashers are at it again
Talula ,   Israel   (05.28.07)
To all you holier than thou people here. Gays have the same basic human rights that you all have, they are human beings. Your detestation towards them is relentless and unforgiving, not to mention a little frightening. And you call yourselves Jews? Jerusalem is THEIR city as much as it is yours, you just have to get over it. You can call them evil and sick all you like, fact is, they contribute so much more to society than say, the orthodox do. Would you not take your child to a doctor just because he is gay? I bet you would. You are blinded by sheer hate for these people because they are different. That's one of the reasons that six million Jews were murdered. I'm ashamed to live in the same country as you.
24. Didn't god create Gays?
Israel   (05.28.07)
Are you selectively deciding for God now?
25. gay pride
ruth ,   helsinki, finland   (05.28.07)
if this ban against the gay pride would pass, it will be a shame for all israel. gay people allways criticise islamistes for beeing against the first of all human rights: to love the person that you love. but eretz is not doing better. if we´re not able to demostrate for the right to love, where are we going, israel? for love, for peace, for israel, shalom
26. Its our city too.....
Andy ,   Ramat Hasharon   (05.28.07)
We will have our march, every year, in Jerusalem. We will not be at Har Habayit or Geula - but we will be in our city. We are not sinners, we are not going away, and this bill will fail. Terry said it best: if you don't like it - stay home. Read a book. Study. Pray. But we will protect our right to peacably and modestly assemble. And Yishai should stop trying to distract the public from his participation in the worst government in our history.
27. NYC Girls Don't Define Israel's Enemies (2nd)
Paqid 16 Netzarim ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.28.07)
Few seem to recognize the significant difference between lapsing into a transgressing of Torah versus rejecting or defying Torah. Thus, they cannot understand how rejection or defiance of Torah defines an enemy of Benei Yisraeil. Every religious Jew lapses into transgression at one time or another. That, in itself, doesn't constitute hypocrisy, as misojudaics charge, and certainly doesn't define an enemy. It's a consequence of being a fallible human. But the one who rejects or defies Torah, by contrast, is a different matter altogether. Those who neglect Torah we hold out hope and encourage them to make teshuvah. But those who reject or defy Torah are our greatest enemy; the modern-day Bilam seducing Israel to assimilate into its decadence; making Israel a bride who commits adultery against ha-Sheim. Muslims and Arabs represent military enemies, which is not our greatest enemy. Our most sinister, insidious and existential threat comes from internal perversion and defiance of the berit of Torah that defines our King, the Prime Cause of this universe, defines us as a people and defines our country. It's reason enough that allowing perverts to parade as a "right" desensitizes the public to immorality, perversion and depravity; encouraging and paving the way for pedophiles, pimps, rapists and all other perverts to feel -- and act on their feeling -- that they deserve the "rights" and "legitimacy" to their persuasions no less than homosexuals. How hypocritical it is to argue against trafficking in women and prostitution while advocating the far more abominable depravity of homosexuals! Legitimizing such rampant immorality rots any society from its core and western democracies are proof. Swimming in a cesspool all day every day, not knowing anything else, desensitizes people to the filth around them. Israel is destined to be a Jewish State -- a state oriented around Torah, not a little America or Europe. Westerners and hedonists can parade their depravities and perverts in NYC if you like, not in Israel; nor even in Tel Aviv. We need laws against public obscenity and perversion that specifically include homosexuals. PS: an Israeli Jewish newspaper not publishing candlelighting times on Yom Shishi is a disgrace to Israel and Jewish readers. No1 G-D did NOT create murderes or robbers or prostitutes or gays He created HUMAN BEINGS and it is what the human does with himself that makes him what he is!Everyone has the choice to be good or bad and gay is just another selfish way to be bad
30. Idiot gay Jews
ben ,   singapore   (05.28.07)
