Although I am not gay myself, I have total respect for those who choose to be. For an Israeli politician to call being gay a quote normative defect is disgusting and shameful. You should know that Israel every politician barks without a reason or with a reason. That is the nature of politics whether it is Israel, US or some trashy, hateful European entity.
