1. In Hindsight ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.30.07)
Many "extremist" ideas (not all) would have had good results. If in 1948, we had expelled all of the Arabs, we would not have a large & hostile minority living in our midst today. At the time, this would have involved a relatively small population. Similarly, in 1967, had we transfered the Arab population out of Jerusalem (possibly out of all the territories), we would have a much better strategic position than today. Indeed, in 1967, if the mosque on the Temple Mount had been destroyed, it would not have had serious consequences as it would have at present. Without the mosque as a symbol, there would be much less support for Palestinians in the Muslim world. Sometimes being reasonable is not reasonable at all. Hindsight ....
2. galia says:
(05.30.07)
“A peace-seeking society is a society that loves human life...When a Palestinian from Hamas gets up and says, ‘Guys, we have crossed all moral boundaries...we’ll know that we’re close to peace.”" She's absolutely right and now repeats what Sharansky, Netanyahu and the Right-wing have been saying for years. Will she now take the logical step and condemn the Oslo process and Sharon's "disengagement" which were all predicated on the existence of peace-loving arabs?
3. How far you can go in the name of an idea
Cosmic X ,   Jerusalem   (05.30.07)
“Perhaps you don’t see me much, but what happened without my intending it to happen is that my character is the reasonable, average Israeli, who wants to understand what you are permitted to do in the name of an idea, how far you can go.” In the name of an idea called "Land for Peace" we imported myriads of terrorists into the land of Israel and gave them land and weapons. The result: thousands of dead and and tens of thousands of wounded.
4. funny
freejay ,   Israel   (05.30.07)
Its funny how this leftie moron concentrates on a few isolated acts that happened 50 years ago and totally ignores the thousands of terrorist acts perpetuated by the arabs since. Very disproportional as the lefties love to say. Why does Israel allow traitors like this to even enter the country??? Probally because we already have traitors running the country.
5. #1 and reasonableness
Rustum ,   London, UK   (05.30.07)
By your definition, Leni Riefenstahl would have been considered an angel. The whole list of revanchist, reactionary, racist, bigotted statements in post #1 make one come to the conclusion that you need serious help. You want the "Arabs" (i.e. the Palestinians) to have been expelled, the Dome of the Rock to have been demolished... what sort of man are you? Are you considering building a Mauthausen for the Palestinians - that would be the logical next step in your litany of yet to be committed crimes against humanity.

7. Extremism=extremism & is the opposite of true righteousness

As long as arabs are the same racial group as Jews use another term than racism. It gets tiresome.
9. #1 - One of the more disgusting posts....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (05.30.07)
I have seen on here in a long time.
10. #9 Wow, you havent really read any then
(05.30.07)
Have you forgotten the posts that laugh or cheer when your Israeli brothers were killed in Lebanon or in suicide bombings. Or when they applaud Hitler. Stop being such a wuss.
11. #4: perhaps Israeli Jews are being held to a higher standard
A real Jew ,   Disappointed, Israel   (05.31.07)
Ultimately, the people about whom she wrote are not rare enough - today, there are anti-Israeli ultra-ultra-Orthodox, and Haredi attacking harmless Arabs (maybe not so harmless -- they were being productive, which is a dirty word in "Haredi"). It seems the useless find ways to be less-than-useless, and adopt the very nature of Israel's worst enemies.
12. #1 Terry - Excellent post
Carl ,   Indianapolis, USA   (05.31.07)
Indeed. Timidity on the part of Israel has led to bigger problems and increased suffering, including the Palestinians. Had the conflict been taken care then, the present Palestinian families, struggling amidst chaos in Gaza, would be living peaceful lives among their own in an Arab country.
13. Context
Roland thomson ,   Jerusalem israel   (05.31.07)
Does the film put more context than this biased article? Does no one remember that Etzion and his group acted in self defense when the Israel Defense forces was turning a blind eye to the constant attacks that the jews in Binyamina and shomron were being gratuitously and cruelly subjected to?
