31. nowadays it is easy to keep the life and the religion
kamla ,   jerusalem   (06.01.07)
it was the story of 8 men and their dog ..escaped to a cave .they were afraid of the governor to kill them becouse they were religouse //after sleeping 300 years they awaked .the first thing .they wanted food // so i think to keep the life is so important and to keep the religion may be the less important aparently // //this is in the ancient day // but in these days with the democracies and human rights // the one can keep his religion in any place free without any stress // but sure to keep his life is the struggle any where ..in israil is the same /// rights must be to all .. but the religion is the personal choise //

Quote "we can certainly find a reference to our obligation to treat the minorities living among us as equals in the Scriptures. Fulfilling this obligation in vital," she added." The stranger living amonst the Israelites was to adhere to the 7 Noachide Laws. They were treated with the same respect as all other men, having certain rights, but it did not include having anything to do with how the country was to be run. The laws of the land for the Israelites was the Torah given by God to Israel only, and those laws were for the well being of the land also, the strangers in the midst were protected but had no power. Start running Israel like that, make any 'stranger' amongst you recipients of equal treatment, but no voting rights, and can never be in charge even if they are the majority in a town or city. They are there as Noachides and must adhere to that code and the punishment will fit that code if they veer from it, having agreed to abide by those laws to be able to live in the land. The Land and The People can only truly prosper when under Gods sovereign rule. Come on world, let this be tried and just see peace come to the world. Tell me world, what have you to lose by experimenting with the unthinkable? As the saying goes - smile - God loves you.

Thanks for your opinion on Judaism and Democracy. However, try living here as a minority and not in Canada, and you will see that for all the high and lofty ideals laid out in Judaism, "Democracy" in Israel in practice is something totally different. Israel is basically saying we are a Jewish state first, but we will tolerate minorities up to a point when we strip them of all rights for not being Jewish. Israel in many ways is more theocracy than democracy. Religion MUST be taken out of the government.

35. #6 their are violent protests in america.
AR ,   USA   (06.01.07)
Their always has been and always will be. Their were peaceful protests in florida over the supposed "free trade" agreements made by our government when the police opened fire with rubber bullets and tear gas. Their is video tape of cops shooting a 40 year old woman with a sign as she was walking away from them. America is just like every other country. You defy the elite they will send their goons after you. Luckily we got video cameras and a popular hatred for authority so when a cop shoots rubber bullets at an old white lady he gets fired. But if he is video taped beating black men nothing happens to him. What im trying to say is your naive in the extreme. If you had any clue about the current situation in venezuala you might be surprised to hear that the vast majority of the media in venezuala is anti chavez. 70% of their media supports opponents of chavez. Have you seen the work of the station that didnt have its licence renewed? They did some cute editing during the attempted coup de ta to make it look like chavez supporters were firing on protesters when they were firing into an empty street. Do some research before you believe the garbage on the news.

So, white people can beat up black people and get away with it? That's funny. Does the name Rodney King ring any bells? Ditto for Bernhard Goetz? Yep, white people really got away with it! Sometimes, the wheels of justice grind slowly, but they do grind. It took 2 trials and 31 years, but Beckwith, the murderer of Medgar Evers, was convicted. The last two bombers of the B'Ham. 16th. Str. Baptist church were convicted after several trials and 37 years. Strange that you're so quick to mention white on black crimes when, in fact, most crimes are committed by Blacks on other Blacks. (The Bloods and Cripps have been killing each other for decades, and they're not white gangs.) I'm sure, though, that's just more of that Elite propaganda. I do, of course, wonder, what, exactly, your definition is of this "Elite?" Anyone whose skin color is different from yours, has a little more money or education or whoever governs? Well, most of this Elite wasn't rich to start out, higher education is available to everybody, and don't forget that we, the people, do the electing of those by whom we want to be governed. Remember a guy named Harry Truman?? His background was not exactly steeped in elite anything. On the other hand, whether by nature or personal effort and ambition, some people are and always will be just a little more elite (equal) than others, and that goes for everybody, regardless of color, religion or country of origin. Live with it or do something about it. Maybe you need to try some other country for a few years to really appreciate what you have. If the value of a nation is determined by how many want in and how many leave, what, if anything, do our 12 million illegal immigrants tell you? Btw., since you know how to check on the veracity of what goes on in Venezuela, may I suggest that you use some of those resources to improve your English? If this tempts you to call me something unflattering, I'd venture to guess that I've been called much worse names by much better people :-)
38. #37, well stated.

People are quick to "jump on the bandwagon" when it comes to bashing the so called elite class.. I think your statement was great. I hope it makes #35 do some thinking.
39. M. Hartley good job.
AR ,   USA   (06.02.07)
You have succeded in not getting the point. The point i was making was about how in america we do have peaceful protests that become violent when the police show up. They are their to protect the interest of the elite (the rich white, black or brown dosnt matter) You tried to turn my post into some racist rant. If i really wanted to play that game i would just bring up the poor guy (black) in new york who took out his wallet and got shot 90 times. People who stoop to tell others to check their english usually dont have anything better to say. Please make your point and dont worry about my english.
40. The "elite"
AR ,   USA   (06.02.07)
Their are a lot of rich people in america they are not all the what i consider the elite. What i meant were those who had the real power in said country. Free trade makes those who are already redicuolusly rich even more rich at the expense of working class people all over the world. These are the guys who set up their lobbies in washington to make sure their business interests arent disturbed by our democracy. I could care less how rich you are. But if you are taking away the rights that americans hold from americans or other people around the world to increase your profits then i do have a problem with you. Those are the elites who our government protects. Heck remember the RNC in new york where thousands of protesters were arrested for just protesting. Of course not the media dosnt run that story but anna nicoles baby covers prime time.
