1. Great!
Jerusalem   (05.31.07)
2. Why are groups who truly love Jews outlawed?
Steve ,   USA   (06.01.07)
B"H Why are these people who espouse violence between men allowed to run, but those who espouse kindess towards Jews not given full priviledge in a so-called Jewish State? Why is Arutz Sheva not allowed on the radio, with a license, but these folks are given full publicity to prepare an electorate for their candidates? Where is the true peace and love in Israel? I think it cannot be represented as excercise of democracy so long as Sderot continues to face attack from Hamas (which seeks representation without election) and those of the right-wing are barred from responding adequately to uphold democratic norms where soceity if free from threats of attack. It is just another move to try and get more left-wing votes as they are drying up after the goverment's popularity took a recent plunge. That is very sad.

JAN   (06.01.07)
8. The real problem..Israel isn't a democracy
Joseph Kaufman ,   Sunnyvale/Jerusalem   (06.01.07)
Knesset members have no constituency in the population. They have to keep the central committee of their party satisfied to retain their seats. One could say that the central committee elections are open, but that's only to party members. Until Israel adapts a system that makes legislative representatives responsible to a constituency defined by territory, there will be no holding politicians responsible for their treachery, as it will be done in the name of the party. In answer to someone else, there are other sectarian parties, like the Taxi drivers party, the Pensioner's Party, why can't their be a gay people's party. Let's see who votes?.
9. A party for people who love to party

13. Violating the Principles of Democracy
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (06.01.07)
Thats what single and special interest groups do in government! Democracy means a government of the people - for the people. All the people - not just a few. It is supposed to be an administrative power charged with running the country - not a group of single interest minorities all trying to grasp enough power to push their own agendas. We already have the burden of Haredi parties doing this very thing - to the detriment of our entire nation and future. Special interest groups should always be given the right to lobby for their own - but not the power to rule all others. And if true democracy isn't guiding our future - what will?
14. The real problem isn't the gays, it's the judges you elect.
jan   (06.01.07)
Like in my country when we had judges from the lowest court to the highest who didn't reinvent the constitution, things in America were good. G-D was respected, and for the most part his teachings were followed. Then came the liberal views and their leaders. What most don't understand is that if you vote for liberal presidents and liberal members of congress, you are actually voting for liberal judges to create, or change the law in our countries that we are to live by. 50 years ago you would never have a gay parade in my country or yours. How can electing a leader affect the law in your land? It's easy. In my country the president nominates for openings on the Supreme Court. The Senate votes yea, or nay. If it's a liberal controlled senate, chances are they will elect someone who has very loose moral views. This can affect a country for the life span of the judge elected. The president also appoints federal judges for votes by the congress. My country is reeling from judges who want to rewrite the interpretation of the constitution and were appointed by bill clinton.(The no morals president who lied to save his sorry hide). So the next time you get a chance to vote in an election, the main question you shoul ask the candidates is what kind of judge would they appoint to the bench. Therein is the guideline of how the future of your country will turn out. In my country we no longer vote our heart and values, we vote for who looks the best, talks the best, and who can lie the best. And yet the moral stench and decay in my country is sickening at best. Israel, don't let that happen to you.
15. #10 Marcel, unfortunately you are right!
Marco le dentisto ,   California   (06.01.07)
The north is heating up and Gaza is amassing armement. Britain is now taking the arab side. Fundamental Islam on the rise. Nuclear weapons in the hands of Islamofasists. Terrorists prepared to die for the name of their Mohamed and his allah, taking with them innocent men, women and children. Israel leadership in a state of clinical coma. A morrocan Jew would say to the gay party: Ibki alik... Ze ma she hasser lachem! Good Shabbos
16. But they do have Meretz-Yahad already, don't they?
Naftali Mumkher ,   Tembel City   (06.01.07)
17. This is the wrong thing for ISRAEL
Michael U ,   SF,CA   (06.01.07)
Israel was G-d favorite because the Jews were the 1st people to accept the Torah before they even heard it. The true people of Israel, the true Jews, who hold the covenant dear and follow the law will always be loved by our loving father in heaven. Our poor brothers and sisters who are led astray from the path of righteousness will have a long road toward teshuva. I feel so sorry for those who buy into this GAY PARTY AGENDA ideology. It is a sickness of the mind which has now infected the body. Those who suffer from this sickness will claim this is hatred, which it most certainly isnt. There is always hope so long as there is life. There are many who have overcome their perversions and returned to the path. It is wrong to lead your fellow Jews astray and as such I rebuke those who join this perverted party. Perversion is a sin and all sins will be judged. It is just so sad these individuals feel a need to desecrate the holy land. May G-d have mercy on their souls...

21. what about a straight party?
concerned israeli   (06.01.07)
y the need for a gay party , why isnt there a straight party? the answer is this is another attempt by the gays the flaunt themselves around , they need the attention. just another downfall in the govt
22. #8 Joseph Kaufman
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.01.07)
Couldn't agree more. Without major reforms to our political system such as MK's representing a defined constituancy, we will never have effective gov't. Our system has no accountability. Theoretically, there's nothing wrong with a gay party. But, if the party system is changed making MK's responsible for a specific locality, then many fringe parties would disappear, not necessaily a bad result either. We don't need more political parties - the smaller parties would merge into the larger parties hopefully to eliminate the need to form coalition gov't.'s.

26. #23 Spare me the Arab self-righteousness
Hani ,   Palestine Vagabond   (06.01.07)
We all know our Arab countries are at the lowest ranking in terms of respecting minorities and women. Nobody is allowed to criticize your beloved Qatar on Aljazeera, so please, fellow Arab, spare me the hypocrisy in criticizing Israel for not killing/maiming/harassings it gay population. I know that in Qatar, under-ground informants are arresting gays en-masse and either deporting or imprisoning them. Arab countries have a LOT to learn from Israel, I say that as a proud Palestinian. Of course, this is not to say that Israel's occupation of our land and immoral treatment of its Arabs is welcome - in the contrary. However positive features must be acknowledged - and assimilated into our own societies.
27. #6 Jews should be tolerant
semsem ,   New York, USA   (06.01.07)
