Don't lose your faith in peace. People who answer here don't represent everybody. It's the same voices, mostly of hate, time after time after time. This is their scene, their hangout place. But just like everybody else, they are also victims - mostly of pain and common misconceptions. I can tell you one thing - for me the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is as much a political as it is a personal conflict/dilemma. I envy the people who managed to resolve the personal conflict one way or another, and can be determined in taking one side or the other. To Alex #1: I agree with you totally as an American. We are not talking about the fence separating Mexico from the US here. Your Gaza fence is in a war zone. The PALs typically claim innocent children are killed by aggressive Israeli actions..from rubber bullet throwers to Molotov Cocktail throwers and at the fence. The Arabs are not so stupid that they would permit children in this killing zone, which is what it is. If the PALs want to avoid these problems, they should stop the Kassams and bomb laying terrorists. I would not show them any sympathy, which is what they want. Dont' give one inch, or you will lose the entire body. Israel is too restrained in general, and it shows.

I've noticed over the years that whenever it's a Palestinian youth that gets hurt, the age limit for childhood seems to extend to 19. Those of us in the West are well aware that younger and younger children are committing serious crimes, including murder, so there is increasing pressure to lower the age of responsibility. Even now many 17 year olds are tried as adults. So in Palestinian society, considering everything about it, such as their "educational" system, childhood is a very relative term. When people train toddlers for jihad, they are relinquishing their right to claim their children as "innocent victims".
