Igor D. ,   New York   (06.07.07)
thank you for your post. its an honest eye to eye view on how people should approach holocaust. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine within a few hundred meters away from 'babi yar' and its just unimaginable how many people lost their lives there. people need to know exactly how things happened in order to comprehand the level of hatred that is being brought onto jewish people

The Swiss do not want to pay back the billions in victims accounts, nor do they want to cash out the many life insurance policies.Nor DO THEY WANT TO DISCLOSE how much they profited from Nazi Germany's destruction of Europe, and mass killings of MANY MILLIONS. F****** the Swiss

I never indicated that I was in support of a law banning speech. However, we as a society should demonstrate our dissatisfaction with the rhetoric of the Iranian Government at every turn. In the United States, virtually all speech is legally protected, including Holocaust Denial. This makes for a society that expects the superior speech to rise to the top as the Societally accepted norm. As for European laws banning that speech, perhaps the laws are necessary in a place where such outrageous atrocities were allowed to be committed (not that it could never happen in the U.S.). The point of my post was to demonstrate support for groups opposed to the muddying of the historical waters when it comes to the Holocaust. As for young Germans being recruited to oppose the laws, I should hope their distinction between right and wrong should guide them as opposed to blindly supporting a cause simply because they are restricted. What a backwards, disjointed excuse for logic to try to deny factual evidence of a massive atrocity simply because it is illegal to do so. The Youth of Germany should be instilled with the respectful dignity of learning a very, very hard lesson from their grandparents and move to better the world through their new found knowledge. Is that hard to ask?

And every time we do, as well as other recognized archeologists - worldwide- we find more and more archeological artifacts that scientifically prove that this land belonged to, and was ruled by, and inhabited by the Jews. The only crooks here are the arabs- they are the true "occupiers". They twist and try to destroy historical and scientific evidence of any people whose land they try to conquer. The Swiss are thieves too- they fight releasing the money stolen by the Nazis from the Jews they murdered- so they have plenty of incentive to lie. No Jew is "afraid" - we are angry- and we are not going to hide that anger. And, we are not going to let you people twist, distort and lie about history.

It is doubly sad that you totally miss my point, considering that you are quite thoughtful when making your case. If you hold any faith that laws banning an idea offer you some theoretical protection rather than a noose around your neck, be my guest.

please read carefully before you spread hate: "She is the first person to benefit from a law introduced this year which offers pardons to those punished for helping Jews get into Switzerland" that's what it sais, and that's what it is: she (and many others) got punished 60 years ago for smuggeling people, and now the state appologizes. what i would say is bad in this story is that it took them so long to do so!!!!

The entire concept reinforces the denial of he holocaust. The holocaust is eality end of discussion to open to debate the existence is as stupid as debating gravity or time

Please explain this:"Four million people suffered and died here at the hands of the Nazi murderers between the years of 1940 and 1945",'"Forever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity where the Nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women, and children, mainly Jews from various countries of Europe, Auschwitz-Birkenam, 1940-1945" to a primitive barbarian How can be an error of 2,5 half million? This is more than 1/3 of the victims. How is still 6 million if in Auschwitz where not 4, but 1,5 half million victims? Even one murder is impardonable, but this 2,5 million difference is to big

Freedom of Thought + Freedom of Speech ... are unconditional prerequisites for understanding history and achieving any advancement for humanity, which is what politics SHOULD be about. The construction of mental taboo's and their attempted re-enforcement via 'law' or legions of hysterically bleating sheep, is retrograde and beneath contempt. As an alternative to such a vain, destructive and totalitarian process, how about fearlessly learning to think straight and speak with intellectual honesty in politics - and let the chips fall where they may!!
