First of all Jews are not a race . Regarding the Shoa , yes for me it's a big case . First of all , i touched me personnally , secondly , when people talk about god , i ask them where that he was then . Regarding your comparisons , you know what happens nearby touches someone more than faraway events . Yes , there were other mass murders , but the Shoa is related to me , the others no . You say the same as jean marie le Pen , this extreme right french politician . He also said that the gaz chambers were merely a "detail" of WWII [ he was condemned for this ] Regarding the ownership of this little piece of land , historically it belongs to the Jewish people . There were other people living here ? yes . But they did not do anything serious for "their" country . There was never a palestinian state , ruled by Arab or Muslim palestinians . This country has begun to devellop when Jews began again to people it . Jews built EVERYTHING in this country . Regarding Jerusalem being the third Muslim site , not true i think . From 1948 till 67 , when Jerusalem was [ illegally , by force ] occupied by Jordan , the king of Saudi Arabia did'nt pay any visit to this "holy" place . A piece of dirt ? yes , you are right , but this was more than 100 years ago . Now it's a highly developped country , the second Hi tec one in the world . Jews have built towns , Tel Aviv was founded only in 1909 , now it's declared an "Unesco world Heritage" place . There is everything you need in a modern country , all this built by Jews . I do not remember exactly who it was , this sage who said that a country belongs to whom is developping it . You say Jews are not an unique race [ regarding race i answered ] but this people has made the greatest contribution to mankind in the world . Yes this people is unique , still there and alive after 20 centuries of persecution .

You have many good points in your TB, however, I get the hint you think I am anti-Semetic. I am not. I am trying to get you to embrace the very foundations of your own people. I am laughing to myself right now! I am having to debate with a Jew over the existance of G-d! Talk about ironic! WOW! Charles, where do you get your information that Jews historically owned this land? The Torah? How did Jews get there? Where they not commanded to take the land from the ancient Canaanites? Did they not dwell in towns they did not build? Who founded Jerusalem? Not Jews! Look it up! Where is the history of Jews moving into the land now called Israel? Is it not in the Torah, the Book of Joshua, and Judges, the Prophets? and so on? You can not even pronounce the name of your country without invoking the name of G-d! I think your people are unique, too. I think they are unique for different reasons than you do. I think you should honor the faith of your forefathers and not desicrate your own heritage.
63. A thank you and a question

Thank you for covering this year's Gay Pride parade in Tel Aviv. As history teaches us, understanding and respect among people come only through visibility and contact. My question is: Why does the title of your article call the event a "gay parade" when in the article you refer to it as a "gay PRIDE parade (emphasis, mine)? Further, is this the only photograph you took which represents the events that took place there? Why are the only (apparently) gay people in the photograph you chose dressed in drag surrounded by (apparently) non-participants, rather onlookers (or worse yet gawkers) and the only participant you quote from France? Is all that person talked about their clothes? Were there really no people there with families and loved ones or people cheering from the sides? Were there really no sons and daughters? Aunts and uncles? Fathers and mothers? Did everyone there really look like those in the photograph? Was everyone there wearing "extravagant" clothes? And even if so, was clothing the only thing they spoke about? Do you honestly think that you accurately and honestly represent your subject and live up to your responsibility as a journalist and news service? I feel skeptical. Best regards,

Never mind about the adulterers. The ones I know refuse to own up to anything. But, according to the old testament, that disobedient son of mine is another story. I get to stone him, and I'm collecting rocks from my garden just as fast as I can. I'm making a slingshot, too. Since his momma didn't raise any idiots, I know that he won't just stand there and take it. Also, he can run faster than I can, so I'll have to stone him from a safe distance. I don't understand why the good book doesn't allow for more merciful deaths of those disobedient sons - strangling and lynching come to mind here - but stoning it says and stoning it'll have to be. As a matter of fact, I'm getting in touch with as many parents of disobedient sons as I can. Maybe we can make it an annual affair and sell tickets, too. Compared to the Great Public Stoning, that gay event will look like nothing more than a fashion-challenged family picnic or, as you said, a slightly raucus Rio Carnival, although, for the most part, they do wear less clothes in Rio. Since I'm getting all cranked up about stoning, I need expert clarification on a personal matter: If an unmarried and totally dorky man wants "to lie" with the widow of his neighbor, and if this widow isn't having any part of that deal, will she have to do at least one "lying" before stoning him, or will she get to stone said neighbor just for thinking such a thing? Oh, and what are the limitations on the number and size of rocks for attempted gropes??? After all, there's no sense to end up in jail for not knowing the little details. A speedy reply is important and would be appreciated, so I won't use up all the big rocks on that disobedient son.

If you have read other of my tb's you know why i can't [ as you write so nicely ] honor the faith of my forefathers . Yes , when liberated from slavery , Jews conquered this place . This history is nicely told in those books , and can't be denied . The why and how can be interpreted . Religious will believe , as is written , by god's hands , seculars have other scientific explanations , and those are not writings . Yes i can pronounce the name of my country without any reference to god , no relation in my view . Yes , it's funny to discuss "religion" with a secular Jew for you . But there is not much theology involved in my thinking . Well as long as we can , peacefully , discuss , no problem .

67. Shtriemels are not offensive
Moshico ,   Jerusalem   (06.10.07)
If a child in the street asked their mother whats the he is wearing on his head she can say he is a religious man and that's what he wears. But when that child askes his mother why is that man walking around in his jocks showing all what he has under it what's her answer to him," well darling he is gay and thats what he wears." The child will be very confused because he has jocks on too but he don't walk around the streets in them and never sees men walking on the streets in jocks during the rest of the year just on the beach. So if gay pride wants to make a statement I think walking around half naked is not the answer its just offensive. One can not compare Shtriemels to jocks.
68. religion adds to one's instability

I don't think it's disgusting gay people in the gay parade are half naked. What I think is disgusting are religious people bundled up with clothes and thinking that because they are religious they are good where they can demean others. these religious types are crazy thinking they're special and godly while acting in an overt anti-god way. But they'll continue to do so thinking they're pure and religious and this is what they need to do. Yet a simple look at religious texts will demonstrate they are acting against god's will.

As a tourist from London who came over especially to show my support for this year's gay pride parade in TA, I can confirm the figures of approx 15,000. I can also confirm how dignified the parade was. There were no more than a handful of people in 'skimpy attire' despite the boiling temperatures. There were only 3 or 4 floats.. the parade lasted just a couple of hours and was fairly small compared to parades in other countries. Nobetheless, the atmosphere was fantastic and there were many old people and families watching with big smiles on their faces. However, for Israel to allow such a parade to flourish is a huge mark of pride in itself, given that it is in a constant state of war. Believe me.. it only does good for Israel's often tarnished image in the Western world. Friends here were suprised that Israel was so liberal and want to go next year. The Torah traches us to 'Love thy neighbour.' If God is reading this, I am sure he would be more ashamed of the comments of the narrow minded bigots on this page.
