31. Viewing it as occupation costs much more: money and lives.
Márcia ,   Brazil   (06.10.07)
What occupation? It's unbelievable that there are Israelis who speak of occupation. It's terrible and sad that Israelis should have the same distorted views that are prevalent in most parts of the world due to Palestinian and leftist propaganda.
32. The 50 billion was returned many times
Ilan ,   Ariel   (06.10.07)
The total sum of exports from the greenhouses of Gush Katif, which were owned by 200 farmers, came to $200,000,000 per year and made up 15% of the agricultural exports of the State of Israel. The combined assets in Gush Katif were estimated at $23 billion. So just considering Gush Katif the return on an investment of 50 billion NIS (about $10 billion ) was an excellent investment by the State of Israel. Since the withdrawal we've spent billions of shekels on a defense system that doesn't work as evidenced by Sderot's ghost town status.
33. I repeat: does this "source" even exist?
sk ,   USA   (06.10.07)
My previous TB was deleted. Can't imagine why. But I repeat: if you web search for Ruby Nathanzon or "Macro Center for Political Economy" with various permutations, you will get a big, fat zero. When will Ynet decide to source its stories properly? Is ideology so important that it will make up "sources"?
34. No better argument
Brooke ,   Reality Check   (06.11.07)
than this to annex Israel's rightful, divinely sanctioned land and assist the palis in emigrating as the most recent polls show that over 80% want to go. Give the palis $$ after they have left to go to other arab nations---over 22 countries to choose from. www.jerusalemsummit.org has the brilliant plan and they will be the richest emigrees in history. Israel will finally have her peace and the removal of the wrong label of occupier. Its time now!!! G-d bless Israel and bring to her a brave and righteous leader who can deliver her this peace from rightful annexation.
35. Source exists, leftist think tank
Ilan ,   Ariel   (06.11.07)
Should ,read: MACRO, The Center for Political Economics. web site: http://www.iiesr.org.il/ Director: Dr. Roby Nathanson (identified as an associate of Yossi Beilen). If you take all the road, all the sewer projects, all the schools built you probably could get to $50 billion, but then how much has been invested in the Negev or the Galilee? (i.e. so what?) It is all spin and just a means to get the Europeans to pay the salaries of academics who need funding to spout their predetermined beliefs. Nothing to get too excited about.
