I have just finished reading Barbara Coloroso's book called Extraordinary Evil; A brief history of Genocide. The contempt, the dehumanization of another people is all present in Israel's attitude towards and treatment of Palestinians. Coloroso describes several stages of genocide. In Act 5: Pinnacle of Pain, the "bullied slump further into depression and/or rage...... Robbed of ways to make a living or maintain healthy relationships, they begin to resemble the dehumanized caricature the bullies portrayed them as." In Act 6, Finale, "the bullied not trusting the international community to protect or help them, do whatever it takes to get rid of their pain. Their pent-up rage may explode into violent aggression against the bullies and all those who appear to have helped them, those who stood by and did nothing, and those who failed to protect them."
