1. OOOO... SCARY SCARY CURSES... OOOOO
stude ham   (06.10.07)
Wow! are these mishigoyim ever delusional to believe that they have the pipeline into the divine presence and therefore can, by means of a few unintelligible babbles, influence the divine intervention in the course of human affairs! if they're so good .... why did israel lose the july war last year? why are israel's enemies multiplying and appearing to prosper so well? why is there a hamas? why didn't they stop errorfat??? why can't they find oil under israel's lands??? why can't they get rid of the islamic priests in israel? etc... etc... and do they have anything else they can offer? maybe? what idiots!
2. A good suggestion.
Avraham ,   Netivot   (06.10.07)
All you gays & gay lovers out there should pay attention to what these Torah sages are saying. Be warned or you will be cursed. Just look what happened to two former P.M.'s who ignored their warnings.
3. the gays like provocation. they are a shame for Israel

5. once again, religious think they are god
ilan ,   rishon   (06.10.07)
Religious people acting like they are god... how sinful and against torah. Yet this is typical for these religious people to think they are above others because of their seemingly religious ways. It's all a cover for a group of people that want nothing else but power and to continuously judge other people. the world will be a better place when the religious people realize this is god's job and they are not god and never will be. but i know that will never happen since they've become religious extremists and care about nothing but themselves.
6. I will be there
Daniel van Dalen ,   Jerusalem   (06.10.07)
My rabbi is one of the rabbis who signed this declaration. I saw it this afternoon in Meah Shearim and already expected this article then. :) I will be there on sunday. There will *not* be a gay parade in Jerusalem. Not on the 21st of June, and NEVER.
7. Hateful and Primitive Mentality by the Orthodox
Laila ,   Montreal, Canada   (06.10.07)
When I read such hateful primitive comments I get turned off by religion. I don't think it was G-ds intention to hate others who do no harm to them. Have the gays hurt the Orthodox community?
8. to #1 you should not joke about that....

10. And What If by Andras Bereny
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (06.10.07)
And what if the "leaders" Noa Satat appeals to would rather protect the Jewish character of the State, fixed in paragraph # 11 of the Declaration of Independence, rather then the humbug "democracy" she refers to, that has nothing to do with Jewish values? How's about a "nice" MM, "Masturbator's March" or PP, "Pedofile is Pretty" march? Why is it so important for these sinners to parade their filth in the Holy City? Can't they do their abomination in their bedrooms? Why are they so eager to march? To prove that Israel is not Jewish?

16. ADVERTISING!!!
al mann ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.10.07)
YNET is really progressive since along with this column about an unhappy gay parade it also has a big advertisement for JDate. Is this coincidental or planned?
17. #6- Yasher Koach!
LEE ,   NY, USA   (06.10.07)
18. #1 Even scaryer is...
shlomo ,   Israel   (06.10.07)
Why didn't they listen to Hashem when they told him they wanted to be like the other nations and have a king? When Hashem told them that was against his will & if they went ahed with that decision, there would come a time that he would not be able to help them out of their situation, he was talking about now. Read the Tanach. "If you listen and obey, these blessings shall follow you all the days of your life, if you refuse and rebel, these curses shall follow you". Do you think that he just put that in to fill up the pages? He warned us about not giving up the land to strangers. If we did, it would not be well for us. Why is it that Hashem gets blamed for things that he told us would happen if we walked NOT according to his words? Could it be that we are NOT doing what he tells us? Hashem told us that if we walked in our own ways that even our weakest enemies would be able to defeat us. While ours is the country that is the apple of his eye, he cannot go back on his word, nor will he let sin prevail without consequences.
19. If Democracy allows such evil then perhaps...
Darren ,   Tampa, FL USA   (06.10.07)
Israel should go back to a King. Better a King than a bunch of Queens. (Sorry I couldn't resist!). When Democracy becomes base and evil, where good is evil and evil is good, then one has to rethink "democracy".
20. amaratzim
judy ,   brooklyn   (06.10.07)
Basically your saying that you don't even know the least bit about the jewish religion and its laws. Take a jewish book and read inside you'll see that it says that gay and lesbian are not allowed.
21. how dare they
(06.10.07)
how dare they use god name like that... Why arent they arrested for calling for murder. these are the F*&*ing assholes who would rather see israel gone.
22. to # 7
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (06.10.07)
It's not a question of hurting man. It's hurting G.d! In Levictus 18: 22 G.d tells Moses: "[Speak to the Children of Israel and say to them] You shall not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, it is an abomination." In Levictus 20:13 G.d tells Moses: "A man who lies with a man as one lies with a woman, they have both done an abomination; they shall be put to death , their blood is upon themselves". Now, even if you are a humanist and you do not believe in G.d or even if you are not Jewish, you may well understand that for a religious Jew this "pride parade" is a grave offense, a sad and hurtfull event and that therefore it can only be described as anti-Semitic. There is no room for anti-Semitism in Eretz Yisrael!
23. Anti-Israel Extremists GO AWAY!
Roy Boy ,   DC, United States   (06.10.07)
Israel is both Jewish AND Democratic. It does not solely belong to the fanatic orthodox that love to stir up drama whenever they don't get their way. Stop preaching your violence and hate or go find some place else to live
24. asking for something?
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens, NY, USA   (06.10.07)
Most of these folks would be better off if they prayed for deodorant instead of curses.
25. Two years ago I was ambivalent about Jerusalem Pride
sk ,   USA   (06.10.07)
I used to think that, as there was only one Jewish state, which is supposed to be both Jewish and democratic, this state should make some room for Orthodox feelings. I thought that while a pride march was protected by democratic freedoms of speech and assembly, Israel was a special case, and the gay leadership should think seriously about avoiding Jerusalem, even though, by right, they could march. My views changed, though, when the Haredim allied with Christians and Muslims against Jews and when their leadership (e.g. Yosef) called gay Jews "Canaanites," thus justifying their expulsion or killing. This profanation of both Judaism and democracy is intolerable. And then, as is typical in Israel, threats of rioting were used as a justification for denying democratic rights, which is nonsense on stilts. These Jewish imams and their followers need to be resisted and undermined. Next stop Mea Shearim.
26. So, shlomo (18), I gather you vigorously oppose the Haredim?
sk ,   USA   (06.10.07)
"He warned us about not giving up the land to strangers. If we did, it would not be well for us." As you cannot deny that the Haredim have been instrumental in every land giveaway since Oslo, do you suggest that they are unfamiliar with the Tanach?
27. they call themselves Jews? shame on the Badatz
mindel ,   tucson az   (06.10.07)
These orthodox suffer more from thier anger than anyone else. They should also know that thier curses will be applied to them as well. Punishmnet enough. They are breaking more than one of G'ods laws. " honor they monther and father ." there are many " hidden " gay Haradi. " do unto others " No brainer there. So they won't mind others protesting thier lifestyle or object to them being harrassed. My prayer is that these poor examples of G'ods law learn to behave as true human beings and Jews before they profess being the true upholders of Jewish Law.
28. Reason For Parade - Important!
John ,   Maaleh Adumim,Israel   (06.10.07)
The gay pride events are to mark the Stonwall riots of 1969: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots A lot of people who say "They can do whatever they want in their own bars and clubs, but not in public." Well, once upon a time, that is what they did, but society did not leave them in peace. The gay pride, like many symbols, is a "never again" symbol - the gay community is saying that never again will it let itself be opressed like this. Of course, I do agree that it would be wrong of them to have a parade in Jerusalem where everyone was butt-naked. Those do happen and are that's OK for where they are accepted, but in Jerusalem - as any of the bigots who protest the parade would know if they took a look - by and large, the parade is very low-key. The protest against the parade make significantly more noise than the parade itself! The parade being held in Jerusalem is not to be provocative. It is for the gay community to remind themselves and everyone else that never again will they allow themselves to be oppressed.
29. Take Curses Seriously
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.10.07)
Everyone prays at some time or another. If you pray, you assume that there is Someone who is listening to your prayer, and Who you hope will respond to your request. You are asking for that Someone to intervene and help a situation or alieviate a crisis. If you believe in prayer, believe in curses, too. They, too, are listened to. And if that Someone feels so inclined, He will act upon those cursed as you would wish Him to do for you own prayers. Do not dismiss the power of a curse.
30. # 26
Shlomo ,   Israel   (06.10.07)
Whether or not they are familiar or unfamiliar with the Tanach is not for me to say. Can you say for sure that they counseled Rabin and Barak to give the land away? Just as I'm sure & in fact I know of people in your country who advise George Bush not to be involved in encouraging our leadership to have a 2 party state. But just because he is advised by these smart people, I think that I can safely say that he doesn't always listen to them. Well the same is in my country.
