Israel is collapsing under the weight of its most stupid government ever! Peres for president is just one of the agonizing realities of that government stupidity and idiocy.
5. The ignorance is astounding

So what if Syria's forces are in a defensive position. Thats all what the bulk is good for, slowing an IDF assault straight towards Damascus. The real way the Syrians would fight, would be basically commando's infiltrating the golan and trying to enter as deeply as they can attempting to shock troops and kill civilians along the way. Then launch missiles at central Israel. Neither of these two tactics require offensive positioning of bulk forces. The only thing I can say is that when Syrian scuds will fall on Tel-Aviv I know finally Israel will destroy Damascus. Many of you might say why? Why is it only after this attack Israel would use the proper amount of force, but when the north or the south are attacked no one cares. The answer is simple the people of Tel-Aviv are shallow, and until something destroys there way of life will they actually go out and support and DEMAND such a thing. Because in the end Israel really is two countries, Tel-Aviv and then the rest is frontier. Until Tel-Aviv feels it, the IDF is restrained. Fact the only time when the IDF took harsh measures such as operation defensive shield was when Tel-Aviv was under constant bomber threat. Mark my words when Tel-Aviv is hit, action becomes the IDF motto, but when the 'frontier' towns of Haifa and Sderot are hit, we must be patient, because it is unacceptable.
6. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!!
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.11.07)
What a relieve, knowing we are in such capable hands. Besides that we have more important things to do,like watching kochav nolad or which flatscreen to buy. For anyone who has some brain cells left, this is what we were told just before the outbrake of the second woldwar. And with Ynet on our side what could possibily go wrong.
7. #4 You stole my Post! You are spot on the money

9. rogue state syria
rj ,   england   (06.11.07)
as syria are on the list of rogue states that promote and harbour terrorists why on earth should anyone believe what syria says...as they say you know when a syrian polititian is lying becuase his mouth moves...and as for syria saying if Israel shows agression they can rely on iran...just as jordan once relied on syria when the going got tough...iran will soon desert syria when they see that they cannot gain anything from a war with Israel and iran will desert syria as syria deserted jordan many years ago...all arab and moslem countries only look out for themselves and do not give a damn about other arabs or moslems for if they did they would have helped bring peace in judea and samaria to gain a two state solution rather than fuel teh in-fighting between palestinians and encouraging attacks by palestinians on Israel...
10. #5 Excellent analysis!
Otter   (06.11.07)
And your description of Israel as city and frontier is right on. Even in countries like Canada there is the same divide between city and rural cultures, which is reflected politically at election time. Too bad that the need for survival has not unified all the population sectors of Israel. Feeling united would seem like something so obvious to do for a country under siege.
11. The return of the Golan was supposed to be
Tracy W.   (06.11.07)
part of a comprehensive peace deal with all the Arabs. Now, all of the sudden, there is this urgency to have Israel give away the Golan, while still under attack from Gaza and while passively watching the rearmament of Hizbullah in Lebanon. The Roadmap for Peace was always unworkable. The violence in Gaza made it all too obvious. So what do they do next? The ask for Israeli land, anyway. Without real peace. Without anything at all in return. No land in exchange for a piece of paper. Not now, not ever.
12. Trust Syria as Much As You Trust Iran
bobsplace ,   Boonies, Texas,USA   (06.11.07)
I'm old enough to remember what Hitler promised in 1938-39. Don't worry, I won't invade. While Assad is nowhere as smart as Hltler, he hangs with the Iranian Crazy Man. Right now Israel needs a modern day Churchill, who prepared for war while Chamberlin made nice with Hitler. The Arabs in the ME are not nice people and lying comes naturally. "In Times of Peace, Prepare for War." It applies even today !
13. YEARS....
ALAN ,   USA   (06.11.07)
IT'S 1933, IT'S 1938, IT'S 1947, IT'S 1967, IT'S 1973...... I SAY HIT 'EM, AND HIT 'EM HARD SO WE WON'T SAY IT'S 586 BCE OR 90 CE.
14. Syria and the Devil
AlbertoGA@yahoo.com ,   Houston, USA   (06.11.07)
To # 12 As per my good friend, I am close to your ideas. I will change my title just by one word. > TRUST SYRIA AS MUCH AS YOU TRUST THE DEVIL < " The Shoa " theories and all the stupid and idiotic things comming from the mouth of Iran #1 genious. A very sad situation for the Iranian people. They deserve better. Now all the rest of your notes are right on the money ! Shalom Alberto

dovdevan ,   ashdod , israel   (06.12.07)
to try to divert the people from having a critical thinking !! by promoting that kind of foolish program those who control the media knows that people won't think about the great situation of our country or anything else !! everything is done to make the people of israel good consumer whithout brain so we are in very big trouble because nobody is capable guiding the people of israel and it's dangerous with our ennemies
16. I don't believe Assad exists
(06.12.07)
In every photo he looks like a cardboard cutout. Do they have Kinkos in Syria?
17. THX NR 15 DOVDEVAN
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.12.07)
I was just very cynical in my talkback. It is good to see not everyone is braindead out there, but it is a close call. For sure Ynet will do its utmost best to keep it that way, they do not encourage critical thinking.
