2. Nobel Prize IS NOT about academic work per se
(06.19.07)
Nobel's academic work led to dynamite but did Not lead to peace. BOYCOTT Those Types of Academicians ! They are but LOOTERS.

6. British Boycott
Vicky ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (06.19.07)
I thank all those that sighned the petition from my heart. People, all too often - ignore acts such as the likes of UCU and Socialist Worker. Whos sole aim is anarchy. Racism of any kind is a display of fear of the unknown. Get to know us and our Religion and you will find that its soul is about love for everything that G-d made. Just because we do not respond does not mean that we do not feel. I pity the purpetraitors of the Boycott and Applaud those that reject it.
7. I want to know who refused to sign
r ,   Banana, Republic   (06.19.07)

10. Nobel Winners for Zio Nazi Stan
J. Abramoff ,   NYC, USA   (06.19.07)
The pathetic face of the weasel leading them off the appologists. Blame Herzel for the stupid idea of robbing Palestine to create Zio Nazi Stan. There can be no peace with such people.
11. 2&10,both right, i have always wondered why Nobel the
lakshmi   (06.19.07)
inventor of dynamite became the symbol of Peace. And Theodor Herzl's Judenstaat(The Jewish State 1896) was a racist project that called for the acquisition of land and the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous people. The rest is history. The 'Nobel Laureates' who signed on are obviously in that tradition.Israel is an apartheid state that has oppressed the Palestinians.Cheers to the independent person who refused to sign on to this dubious petition.
12. #3 earned Noble prize, but are promoting apartheid and war!
(06.19.07)
13. I will not accept a Nobel Prize to sign such a Pitition
(06.19.07)
14. How is
Korem ,   New York, USA   (06.19.07)
How is condeming a boycott that can't possibly affect Israeli policy but only prevent the most left-leaning sphere of Israeli society from cooperating with other nations on the advancement of science, denote that one supports "apartheid" and "oppression"?
15. For Every Nobel Prize Winner That Signed
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.19.07)
there were two more that didn't. The only way for the people of Israel to face up to its racist culture and the apartheid policies is to boycott and shun them on every level. When no one will talk to them or buy an orange from them then maybe they will be forced to change. If Israel wants to be considered an enlightened democracy state then it should start acting like one.
16. #15, hmm where did you learn maths?
Danny   (06.19.07)
And as if we needed proof about the "intellectual" standard of boycotters you have provided - 51 did sign, one didn't. Or maybe you could provide a list of the 102 who refused to sign?
17. #4 I'll bet it was J. Carter (end)
IAK   (06.19.07)
18. Nobel prizewinners against the boycott
Joy Wolfe ,   Cheadle UK   (06.19.07)
Since when was opposing a boycott supporting so-called mythical aprtheid and war Interesting lack of Muslim names among the signatories, but then again there is an interesting lack of Muslim, Palestinian or Arab Nobel prizewinners
19. World Citizen'ss response
Joy Wolfe ,   Cheadle UK   (06.19.07)
Fortunately for the world there are not that many warped World Citizen's as this one. Israel is not an apartheid state, but many Arab states are, especially when it comes to being Jew free. Israel has done so much for the world that the mere idea of isolating her and depriving the international community of all the medical, technological, cultural and other benefits is just too ludicrous. But then bigoted anti Zionists never let the truth get in the way of their history revisionism
20. #2, quality of academics with sidenote to #18
Danny   (06.19.07)
Quick side note to #18, Steve Weinberg won his Nobel for unifying two of the four forces. He was also one of the first people to condemn the "boycott" of the UCU. His co-worker and co-winner of the Nobel was a religious muslim called Abdus Salam. Interesting we are discussing the quality of academics on either side of the fence. On the anti-boycott side we have: Weinberg, one of the creators of the standard model in particle physics Wilzcek, another one of the creators of the standard model, A. Kornberg, the guy who cracked the biochemical mechanism for DNA replication - and incidentally showed how to splice genes thus creating the biotech industry. Kandel, one of the greats of Neuroscience whose book is THE text for neurologists. These are the guys whose names immediately ring a bell. There is simply no dispute about the status of these men in their fields. On the other side, we have Jacqueline Rose, whose book "Question of Zion" had Jabotinsky making a speech in 1947 - some 7 years after his death. John Rose, a man who wrote the "Myths of Zionism". To be fair, like Ms Rose, he isn't a historian. To be less fair, his book is full of the same howlers. Sue Blackwell, hoping to get her Phd in 2003. Currently still hoping. Tom something, architect in Brighton "university". I think there is similarly no real dispute about the "quality" of these "academics". Note the utter absence of any serious historians on the boycott because knowing about the Middle East means knowing the attack on Israel is utterly unfounded.
21. #15, rather difficult to do a boycott of Israeli goods
Danny   (06.19.07)
Would involve not taking a large number of medicines, not using a PC and not using a mobile phone. As for no one talking to us, Israel currently has the highest amount of exports in its history, highest number of trading partners and highest number of bi-lateral partners. So contrary to the "boycott" mythologisers Israel is talking and selling more than ever.
22. super-duper Y NET contest:
bernie ,   france   (06.19.07)
amongst all talk-backers: who: - belongs to naturei karta (at best)? - is the fake hindu who keeps challenging the jewish sense of hospitality with pro-hamas/ hez'b al-qaeda logor..., sorry!... talk? 1st prize: NOTHING! just like 10 & 11.
23. to 15
max ,   karmi'el   (06.19.07)
You mean enlightened like Britian which is responsible for the crimes in Africa, Asia and America? What are these "enlightened" Britians doing in Iraq? Why isn't anyone boycotting them?
24. # 15 Ignorant World citizen
charles ,   Petach tilva   (06.20.07)
For you IGNORANT i will add : Petach tikva is in Israel . You wrote ...do'nt buy an orange from them ....Let me tell you that oranges are no more exported so much . 50 % of our exports are Hi Tec , to all parts of the world . If "bipedes" as you want to boycott us , you will loose . You will return to the middle ages .
25. No to the boycott
Jan Morup ,   copenhagen, DK   (08.14.07)
I commend the Nobel Prize laureates for taking a stand against this disguisting boycott.
