1. I agree with the rabbies!
Zoki ,   Sebia   (06.19.07)
Once more they demonstrated their wisdom! What gays want is that they are accepted as "normal". That their sexual orientation is "normal". That is WRONG - normal is something that is widely practised. Normal is that you wear cloths when you go out in the street. They can protest against violating their rights (like, that they are beaten regularly because of their sexual orientation), but cannot protest and making something "normal". So they want attention here. Not fight for their rights - for you do it in courts - but they want people to watch them. And if they do not get it, then all that is futile, isn't it?
2. Denial
Israel   (06.19.07)
"and we think that most of the public supports us in protesting the parade" DREAM ON! No they don't. Most of the public believe in freedom and equal rights for all citizens
3. Aren't you afraid of the prayers of holy Rabbis?
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.19.07)
Kabbalistic prayers with a pulsa denura curse can have a serious effect on those participating in this immoral parade. Prime Minister Sharon was informed that he was cursed. He laughed it off asking when it would take effect? The end of this story, we've all witnessed.
4. #3, it isn't the paraders we need to pray about
JewishDragonfly ,   Torrance, CA, USA   (06.19.07)
We don't need to pray for something bad to happen to our fellow Jews who are doing the wrong things. We need to pray that they do Teshuva. It's the actions that are wrong, not the misguided individuals who don't understand what they're doing.
5. No Denial
Michoel ,   Baltimore   (06.19.07)
Denial, Most of the public does not feel that Jerusalem is the correct venue for a highly provocative gay rights march. That has been borne out by surveys.
6. OK...OK Rabbis...
ben ,   singapore   (06.19.07)
we dont hate the gays but we hate their sexual perversion. I dont see any provison for these homosexual abomination in my TORAH.They should not do such things in Eretz Yisrael . Why dont the gays go to other parts of the world. Thats ALL. OK...OK if you rabbis say so- we will do, we will do ; - ( ~ But I am angry Rabbis but I dont hate the gays.I hate the sexual perversion. They molest children in school too. They prey on children. Must we expose our children to this kind of perverts ? Today I received many scientific report that concluded that this gay thing is genetic. I am reading those reports but i am not convinced. I am sorry , i am old school. I dont know why I dont like them ? Even my wife scolds me ! ben singapore
7. Why they retract .
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.19.07)
They have seen that they loose much support , not many people on their manifestation , certainly not the hunderd thousand they said that would attend . Even "true" religious Israelis reject those anti State "people" . They say that their youth has'nt to see this "abomination" . Do'nt those rabbis know , that in order to fight your enemies , you have to know them ? Are they so effraid that those boys will have their true instincts revealed ? But no problem , if they want to pray , let them do it , it does not help , nor hurts anybody .
8. At last - common sense reigns
David ,   Karmiel. Israel   (06.19.07)
Well done Rabbis! And I mean it. If Gays were just left alone and allowed to live in peace and quiet there would be no need for Gay Parades. Gays don't protest against the Uttra-Orthodox. Maybe now the actions of the Rabbis, in their wisdom, will stop the hatred and cursing of Jews by Jews, and allow a policy of Let and Let Live to be the order of the day. I hope that the secular homophobics will take this as an example. Maybe, one day, two boys can hold hands in the street, like their hetro counterparts, without fear of ridicule and even assault. Long live Freedom for all, no matter what you believe in. This is what being a Jews is all about!
9. #2 - foolish one
Shalom   (06.19.07)
Every survey has shown that between 72-78% of the public are against the Parade - from all segments of Israel.
10. Shalom , where were those surveys published
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.19.07)
11. Ben: It's about time you start getting a Torah education
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.19.07)
if you're Jewish. If you want, you can start with the 3rd volume of the Torah, Leviticus, from chapter 18, where you will learn how G-d despises immorality and would restrain His wrath over everything except immorality. Genetic? Stealing and eating unhealthy foods are also "genetic". A person is born with bad traits, which he has to work on. But these immoral people have no intentions of working on themselves to behave like decent human beings. They'd much rather "get a permit" to allow this immorality and claim it's "genetic and something they were born with and there's nothing that can be done about it." That's all rubbish! If the Torah says no to such indecent behavior, then that's what it is and that's what they must work on.
12. #4 Sometimes it IS necessary to pray for something bad
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.19.07)
to happen if there's no other way for them to stop what they're planning on doing. Sharon, as I mentioned earlier, did a very bad thing. Even if he wasn't cursed, the tears of hundreds of thousands of Jews caused Heaven to respond appropriately. Here too, these immoral beings want to prove that there is no G-d, G-d forbid, and one may do whatever he wishes. And this is what they want to drill into the souls of the Jewish children and adults which is extremely dangerous - more than you can imagine. This is what the Rabbis fear, thus the curse.
13. I would be scared
Mordechai   (06.19.07)
The fact these Rabbis don't want their followers near the parade should worry its organizers. Maybe they know that something is going to happen. Perhaps a series of bombs and they don't want their followers hurt. I would be very scared if I was thinking of going to the parade
14. It's ok, ben, I don't like you either.
sk ,   USA   (06.19.07)
"But I am angry Rabbis but I dont hate the gays.I hate the sexual perversion. They molest children in school too. They prey on children. Must we expose our children to this kind of perverts ? ...I dont know why I dont like them ? Even my wife scolds me !" Yes, you simpleton, you DO hate gays. Why? Well, they molest children in school of course (for starters). BTW, why do you think I should care about your brats? Oh and remind me again why you are a yored?
15. Time to march in front of Miriam's house.
sk ,   USA   (06.19.07)
To bad Jews were expelled from Gaza and not from your own neighborhood, Miriam. It would have been much better.
16. Mordechai (13), you're scared because you're a coward.
sk ,   USA   (06.19.07)
These rabbis are deeply concerned that the Haredi closets will be breached because the Haredim are increasingly gay visibility within the Haredi sector. The rabbis are basically right, by the way.
17. No need to fear, the Haredim can pray and we will march
jerusalemite   (06.19.07)
The march is for those who contribute to society. Haredim and and should stay in their Yeshiva's, going out is an obvious Bitul Tora, (i.e. god won't like it). This march is for those who make Jerusalem possible, pay taxes, go to the army. Those who live off their tax money, are in danger everday of a paper cut and don't have one ONE grace in a military cemetary, should not talk about Morality.
18. About Prayers: News flash Rabbis die too.
Jerusalemite   (06.19.07)
Mirriam, I presume you realize that Rabbis die all the time. I was in the hospital and saw religious sick people, if you think Sharon had a strock because of god I pitty you. You probably believe the world was created in six days. If you were in a car accident would you prefer to be taken to the hospital or a yeshiva?
19. To #13 you should be afraid, if the Rabbis know something...
Jerusalemite   (06.19.07)
They should be arrested! Thanks for the tip, I will pass it on. It might have saved the life of Rabbi Wies (from the Badatz) grandson if someone would have told the police his father was bashing him in the head
20. to #1
Gabriel ,   Toronto   (06.19.07)
"Normal is what is widely practiced" There are far more gays in the world than there are Jews. You simply cannot govern a country properly with religious interference. If the Rabbis don't like the gay pride, then don't go. That's what democracy is about...Nobody is forcing you to watch...
21. Were were you when land given up?
Marc   (06.19.07)
I would have liked to see the Charedi community rally when holy territories were sacrificed to arabs or when missiles landed on Sderot.
22. Same exile mentality as in Europe
Shlomo W   (06.19.07)
Most if the leading rabbis of Europe told the jews to stay there and NOT go to Israel, 6,000,000 Jews followed their advice to the gas chambers. Nothing has changed, their should be no room for a public abomination in Jerusalem. The police supreme court and Army are all Ani Jewish. It’s up to the people to get out onto the streets and without violance stop this from happening, if 100,000 people just sit in the streets, it can not happen. Go back to your roots Jews follow the example on Pinchas, who took ACTION for the sanctity of G-d
23. Miriam , retarded ?
charles ,   petach tikva   (06.19.07)
And the tora , written a long time ago knows it better than today's scientists ? I knew that there were ignorant retarded people , but not such a high level . Far beyond all accepted limits of ignorance .
24. To Charles
Shalom   (06.19.07)
Sorry Charles but I would be a liar if I said I remembered - I am pretty sure that JPost came up with one of those figures. Also, I saw in some article last week that a telephone survey in Jlm had claimed 78% . That's why I gave the leeway, because I don't want to be accused of inventing figures.
25. No. 3 Miriam
NYC Girl   (06.19.07)
You mean to tell me the rabbis have it in their power to put such a curse on people and they used it on Sharon...and not Yasser Arafat? How can anybody believe such nonsense? It's no different than people sticking pins in voodoo dolls.
26. Let me get this right -- only Gays can protest
Steve ,   USA   (06.19.07)
B"H See if the "religious" are prohibited to protest because of fears of conflict, that is a victory set for the gay lifestyle. The parade is not slated to have opposition. I am really surprised to hear this from the rabbis. But then again, I did not hear it directly from the rabbis. I heard it from YNET, and so it is not as shocking. It could be a misrepresentation! I cannot make it right now to protest in any case so the point is moot for my personal action.
27. Half the world believe in Jesus, does that make it true?
Jerusalemite   (06.19.07)
Even if it were true that most Israelis were against the parade, it would still have the right to march. They should ask how many tax paying citizens support the parade. Maybe how many people whos families lost members defending the country, maybe that should be the paramater. Don't worry, the parade will happen as it has in the past 6 years. Every year the Haredim yelp and complain, but I have yet to see less Haredim die than Homosexuals.
28. #2
chuck ,   usa   (06.19.07)
before you go on babbling like the idiot you already are, why dont you look at all the poll results taken in the last few weeks and youll see! its the minority of ppl like you who support faggots in thongs marching in everyones faces!! talk about denial!!!!!!!
29. To chuck and Steve everyone has a right to demonstrate
Jerusalemite   (06.19.07)
Everyone has a right to demonstrate, some people do so violently (well that is their culture) and some peacefully (as the pride parade). Some people are just less cultured and so they throw rocks, burn garbage cans and yell and some people are cultured and support democracy by marching respectfully. I know which I prefer, then I come in the name of man and others claim to represent god.
30. #25 The problem with you and those like you
Miriam ,   Jerusalem   (06.19.07)
is you believe only what you actually see. There's much more to the world "behind the scenes" than what you're aware of.
