Given how the "reforms" of the Human Rights Commission worked out, I think it is beyond redemption. Strip out a few useful agencies (e.g. WHO, UNICEF) and shut it down.

Palestinians bear no responsibility for their own actions. But the UN has taken the blaming FROLIC over Israel for the situation in Gaza.

The UN recently appointed Zimbabwe to head the sustainable development commission. We have a IAEA head who doesn't think it is his job to make Iran comply with UNSC resolutions. We have UNWRA officials who regularly as clockwork claim that Gaza is going to become a humanitarian diasaster "in the next few days" for the last year. Now we have Israel singled out over Belarus and Cuba, and being lectured on human rights by China, Algeria and Saudi.

What was the first clue? Building an Apartheid Wall inside the 1967 borders? Bulldozing civilian homes? Constructing "settler only" roads? Settlements? Occupation? Firing missiles into civilian areas? Not recognizing a democratically elected government? Taxation with out representation?

Everything old is new again. Brand new UN Council. Same results. This is why people are dying daily in Darfur....because the UN is toothless and obsessively focuses on Israel. What a joke of an organization. I'm ashamed to live in the same city as the UN.

That's right only Israel, where people are free to practice their religion, vote, sue the government, own property, have free speech, the rule of law, democractic elections, compensation, has a pluralistic society, takes in refugees, etc is the problem... Why should the US continue to support Israel? What is in it for us? This is an honest question. What has Israel given the US? I think we should let the cards fall as they may. If Israel destroys a few Arab states with it's nukes, so be it or vice versa. I'm tired of wasting our time , money, and lives in the Middle East. Will somebody just get it over with. The fact is according to their holy books Israel will not give up its land and the Arabs will never want peace. This will go on forever.
