I seem to remember some other demonstrations in Jerusalem. Actually I can't think of any group which has not demostrated in the city, there are plenty of right wing, Haredi, Muslim, Left wing and so on demonstrations in the city and as long as they are not violent they can happen.

The settlers GENERALLY are peaceable, and there was abundant evidence, including live video, that the police deliberately attached those conducting nonviolent civil disobedience. (I even sent in a donation to help Shlomo Wallins, who took some of the video.) The Haredim, however, are GENERALLY violent. Unlike the settlers, the Haredim have substantial political power, and so they cannot just be beaten up for no reason. Given that the clown suited ones supported the disengagment, it is outrageous now to raise the banner of Orange Israel as you do. BTW, at least the settlers contributed to holding Jewish land. The Haredim are irrelevant in this way as well.

In other words, the America-Israel connection is not at all asymmetric like the relationship between (say) secular Israel and the Haredim.
