2. A strong, intelligent man
Patricia ,   Waipahu, Hawaii, USA   (06.21.07)
I have mixed feelings regarding Mr Netanyahu but am always impressed by his intelligence and ability to express his point of view. I am strongly inclined to see him as a way for Israel to deal more strongly with the US and our demands that have weakened the Israeli position and ability to resolve the Palestinian problems based upon Israel's own self interests. The US does this all the time, we always make our decisions from our self interest and pressure other countries to make their decisions from our self interests. This has been a killer for Israel. While I may not agree with Mr. Netanyahu's brand of politics, I certainly agree with Israel having a strong leader who can say no to the US and promote what is best for Israel.
3. Right on target as usual
Jack ,   Philadelphia, USA   (06.21.07)
I read today that Syria calls on Barak to help negotiate with them. Obviously they look to the appeaser who gave up Lebanon without security for Israel and thereby led to hizzbolah and now those same leftists did it again at Gaza. Israel needs a leader, Netanyahu not an appeaser like Barak or Olmert who never should have been in the position of Prime Minister. I don't think Sharon picked him for this I think he was chosen as a middle of the road technocrat. Olmert was never intended to lead the country and that should be a direct lesson in the future of politics in Israel and the US. Thank G-d we have a Vice President in the US who we can count on G-d forbid he is ever called upon. Israel and the people of Israel needs to wise up.
4. I told you so!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YB ,   NJ   (06.21.07)
"Netanyahu said that strengthening President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction with the help of moderate Arab countries could be the key to solving the Middle East conflict" He's NOT much different then Olmert & co. They want you to beleive that Abbas & Fatah are better then Hamas..... bla bla bla What an idiot!!! I REST MY CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5. A taste of things to come
Righteous Zionist ,   Israel   (06.21.07)
1. Natanyahu will promise a tough line in the next election campaign. 2. He will win, thanks to support from the right-wing, centrist and religious camp. 3. He will then let his "moderates" do whatever they like, as did his predecessor. 4. The US will support his lies about the PLO being "moderates." 5. He will reintroduce the "concessions for peace" myth and give more land to the Arab enemy.
6. Very Disappointing, Mr. Netanyahu.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.21.07)
I hoped to hear more realistic comments from you. Egypt will do NOTHING for us - it's an enemy state observing a hudna, a temporary truce, until Mubarak's dictatorship ends, whereupon, who the hell knows what will follow. And more BS talk about "moderates" - who are you kidding, hopefully, not yourself. And even if Abbas were a moderate (which he's not), he & the Fatah movement which he heads (only a figure of speech) are complete & utter failures who can deliver absolutely nothing. I might be forced to vote for you by default but your positions are pretty disappointing.
7. to #6 Terry, vote for the Nat'l Union instead.
aaron ,   ra'anana   (06.21.07)
Netanyahu can be the leader of a right wing government, but we need to make sure that government has a strong right wing.
8. 5, 6: Agreed: very disappointing.
sk ,   USA   (06.21.07)
The only thing that might force Netanyahu to get serious is a refusal to vote for anyone. This is a long-term smart strategy, as otherwise one is always voting for the lesser of two evils as both evils become progressively worse. The problem is Iran, which does change the time table a bit.
9. To #6, 7
Amir ,   Beer Sheva   (06.21.07)
Egtypt is an enemy state. These people never learn. Even the current leader of Iraq is good US will kill more Arabs. I never seen a a dictatorship ruled by a weak person. Abbas either will be killed or he will soon start killing more Jews. He has no other choice, and he wants to live even if we and US will pay his family 5 million $$ every day.
10. Netanyahu
Avrohom ,   Brooklyn, NY   (06.21.07)
dos netanyahu realy think that Abbas is "moderat"? who are our leaders?????!!!!!!!
11. Surprising Netanyahu won't call Abbas what he really is
malcolm   (06.21.07)
Abbas is a Jew hating terrorist who signed into law payouts to the families of suicide bombers. He is a weaker more pathetic version of Arafat with a grandfatherly look in an Armani suit. He is as corrupt as Arafat and has hundreds of millions stashed away for himself and his cronies. Abbas is not a person to do business with and Fatah is even more evil with it's murderous branches like al-Aqsa and 17.

for 60 plus years most if not all arab and muslim nations have refused to recognize israel's right to exists even though we were given our homeland, not by god (religious reason) but by the world through a legitimate league of nation. most civilized countries votes a yes, while arab muslim countries voted a no. some of the nay sayers were also given a country in the mid east just like israel was given to us....an example is jordan and lebanon, etc...yet no one denied these countries the right to exist and move on. it is only when it came to jews and israel that these same arabs whose country has been structured for them by the world, denied the jewish homeland and refused to accept it as a viable entity and refused to leave it alone in peace. no wonder as the "religion of peace", islam, doesn't much advocate for the support and love for infidels, non believers and heretics like jews and christians. it calls arabs to kill these infidels and to eliminate them....especially jews who are said to be descendants of donkeys and pigs according to the kuranic verses and the education the arabs ingrain in their schools and kids' lives is full of these beliefs. i truly believe that if french catholics were inhabiting israel proper as we know it today, there would have been no problem at all politically. after all it is more of a martyrdom feat to kill a jew than a christian. for years the arab dictatorial regimes have had their hands in the honey pot of propaganda and hate. for generations they not only feuled this hate towards the "yahood", the jew, but encouraged a total unacceptance of the viability of the jewish homeland, israel. having 22 countries of their own with vast amounts of land and rich oil was not important to them. what was important is eliminate the jew from their borders. period! the jews didn't presednt a threat to the arabs. the jews didn't present a political or military threat unless attacked by the gangs of fedayeen and falahim terrorists who wanted to murder every jew because of hate, not because of percieved threat. when israel controlled these territories, post the 1967 war, the economic and infrastructure in both west bank and gaza were wonderful compared to what is going on now.....but, after the great arab defeat in 1976, both egypt and jordan got together to MANUFACTURE A LIE. they created the "palestinian" refugees status as israeli responsibility and doing. interesting that they were not talking about a palestinian nation at all while both these territories were under arab control prior to 1967 and when both the arab countries kept these arabs under refugee status . once they became israel's responsibility after the 67 war, then the arabs invented the "palestinian nation" and the "palestinian people" as a separate distinct nation. what bogus! what a great tool to present to the world and "sensitive" media to fight the bad zionists. ha???? what a great plan of making their own brothers suffer incredibly and be used for decades against israel. what a tool of hate these arab regimes invented and what better way to wash their hands off their responsibility for these arab brothers who belong to them in the first place. it's not israel that failed these so called palestinians, but their own brothers who have never left the concept of hate alone, enticement alone, etc... instilling hate is a very powerful tool especially when you teach it to generations of uneducated youngsters. when your freedom as a nation depends on how many jews you kill and how many israelis you blow up, you arabs stand no chance at creating your own nation or becoming part of a civilized society.

I have read all of your comments, you people live on a different planet!!
15. To #13. Egypt Is Using The Gazans To.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (06.21.07)
You write :"... plan of making their own brothers suffer ...". THIS shows that Egypt is using the Gazans to deflect the Egyptians' attention away from their, i.e. Egyptians, own internal economic and social problems. Egypt knows that as long as the Gazans are firing Qassam rockets into Israel -- the population's, i.e. Egyptians, attention will be on Israel. IN THIS WAY the simple Egyptians are made to believe that they, i.e. the Egyptians, are very fortunate to be living in Egypt -- while the Gazans are unfortunate to be living in Gaza. WHY ? Because they will get attacked by Israel.
16. Right on target
Brod ,   USA   (06.21.07)
Bibi is right on target on this issue. He is not just a political leader but an expert on the problem of the Middle East and on the danger of Islamist-Jihadism. A leader with expertise and fortitude will make an excellent PM.

Talk all you want with Egypt, and Jordan. But, Iran is behind the real problem here.
20. Bibi is more intelligent than some of u give him credit
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (06.22.07)
Think about it. Gazza was part of Egypt, so we will, in effect , be giving it back to them. They then become the occupiers. The west bank and East Jerusalem to Jordan, I'd rather them than Abass. Let them deal with the pals. It lets us off the hook and AMnasty and all the other so called human rights orgs will have nothing to blame us for.
