1. Immediate Solution = Olmert Resigns
Mark Kleiman ,   South Florida   (06.29.07)
2.  pm doesnt think we need fortifications ?
yahn goodey   (06.29.07)
in that case then he should show us how not to care by suspending the construction of his nuclear bunker and its quick road to the airport-and why does he need bodyguards if theres nothing to worry about?
3. Offence ! NOT defence !
Name ,   City & country   (06.29.07)
Goddamn clown ! Arabs need to know the exact price for every attack. Like little children, they need to know the punishment for every misbehavior.
4. Was Mr. Olmert trying to be funny?
M.Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.29.07)
"Life in Israel involves some risks," said Olmert, "But the risks we face here are far lesser than the ones threatening Jews around the world." Hopefully, Mr. Olmert meant to say, "than in some other parts of the world. "Please, somebody tell me it's just a lousy translation. If not, boy, wait till they hear about that at the Jewish community center up the street. I bet, those Mah Jong tiles will fly out of the windows and everybody will be tearing through the door, storming the next shuittle to a less dangerous Gaza vicinity community of their choice. Come to think of it, maybe I need to move, "what with" all those synagogues, shuls, temples, not to mention the people who go there, around here. And I was worried about that occasional asshat fanatic!!. That goes to show what I know. Thanks, ynet! Now I'm really gonna have nightmares.
5. Olmert, a disgrace and existential threat to Israel
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (06.29.07)
The worst security problem for Israel is from WITHIN. Olmert pretty much says that to him, Jewish lives are cheap. What he really cares about is sucking up to the int'l media, and personally profiting by selling Am Yisrael down the river. People of Israel, I BEG YOU, get rid of this Pharaoh Olmert before he loses ANOTHER war and before more of your children die defending his regime!
6. Take the initiative. Olmert is too comfortable.
Zvi   (06.29.07)
7. Incompetence does have it's limitations
Marcel ,   Florida   (06.29.07)
The incompetent Prime Minister can only do so much. He is quite bold with his pathetic excuses to do nothing to endanger the phony peace sham of his puppeteer, President Bush. Olmert is in power ,not to serve the people and nation of Israel but to dismantle it for his president's Palestinian state of anarchy. This is why an incompetent fool is P.M. of Israel today and nothing he does seems to get him booted from office. May he go the way of Ariel Sahron and soon.
8. Olmert must go
Frank ,   Canada   (06.29.07)
Olmert and other Kadima so-called leaders are supporting "peace", e.g. doing nothing to confront Arab threat because they are not able to have a clear understanding of what's going on and what needs to be done. They may pick a new leader, nothing will change. Israel will become weaker and weaker, Israel will make more concessions for more terror and Israel will be in danger. What is wrong is their lack of vision and their tremendous incompetence. They will even let Iran get nukes.
9. Israel - how can you tolerate this ...person
(06.29.07)
10. Fortify Olmert's mouth shut.
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (06.29.07)
11. Clueless Kadima?
Yonatan Koss ,   Eilat   (06.29.07)
We just can’t bomb every arab village that launches rockets at Sderot, why not? Olmert can’t be expected to deliver a policy based on logical consequence when he fights tooth and nail to exempt himself from such a policy. His actions don’t reflect a PM’s, they are more like an old fashioned dictator Israel does not have a leader, it has an arab sycophant.
12. Israel, you used to be cool
malcolm   (06.29.07)
A putrid government that arrogantly acts as if it's executing some brilliant political mandate. The nation musters more protesters against Katsav and gay paraders than for it's own defense and security. An opposition too scared to raise their voices lest they scare voters. Lots of Taklbackers wasting their time calling for an Olmert resignation that will never come. Israel, you used to be cool. What happened? It's as if you're under a diabolical spell hurled at you from the ayatollahs. The more you twirl in delusional stupidity the more they dance in Tehran. Sad beyond words.
13. An empty head with no ideas
Bernard Ross ,   st. anns bay,jamaica   (06.29.07)
14. OLMERT IS TO TIRED TO DEFEND ISRAEL!
David ,   JERUSALEM   (06.29.07)
He would rather defend peace now and their lies, the arabs and his lesbian daughter's right to disgrace our country and city with her disgusting friends.
15. Do you walk in the rain without an umbrella?
Steve ,   USA   (06.29.07)
B"H This talk about not fortifying makes sense if you have the strength to actually defeat your enemies. But if you use an umbrella in the rain, why would you not use something stronger when it is not raining raindrops, but missiles that are deadly? Faith is one thing. But another is to not unreasonably test G-d. Why provoke G-d's courts to action? If you are not strong enough to wipe out your enemy, why not at least take steps to preserve your friend? Quote: "This is just like the demands to solve the Qassam problem by wiping out entire communities in the Gaza Strip. We can't fortify ourselves senseless because there would never be an end to it."
16. "We can't fortify ourselves senseless"
Marcell ,   Nir-Am   (06.29.07)
I'll be sure to convey your message to my four children who have been under Kassam fire for 7 years, Mr. Prime Minister.
17. isks we face here are far lesser than the ones threatening
Marcell ,   Nir-Am   (06.29.07)
Jews in the rest of the world . . . Is there anyone that still believes this propoganda? Israel is the most dangerous country for Jews to live in today. And all thanks to a government who won't step up to the plate.
18. He is BURN OUT Already.
ben ,   singapore   (06.29.07)
Olmert is burn out ,good fellow must take a break . I see he has done enough !
19. "WE WILL NOT GIVE TO THE BLAKMAIL".??? a trully bizzare joke
Nebojsa Yitzchak M ,   Toronto   (06.29.07)
OR A TERMINAL INSENITY.
20. Olmert
roxy ,   israel   (06.29.07)
What has the man been smoking weed or what? We do need to have bomb shelters and fortifications of building in Sderot, and other boderline cities. The shelters in the North need repair, or does he expect the residents of both areas to continue to live with the boms(Sderot) and the potential for boms(the North) while he and his family and the rest of the Gov. sit in Jerusalem,Tel Aviv in their fancy state of the art building s or bomb shelters(if Iran Attacks us) while we sit either without shelters or reinforced rooms, or in shelters which are almost uninhabitable? Wake up Mr Olmert the country needs a strong leader, and needs to prepare for the drums of war are beating!
21. Olmert should hold his hypocrital tongue
Righteous Zionist ,   Israel   (06.29.07)
until every Jewish city, town, village and settlement enjoys the same security priorities as Tel Aviv. This includes everywhere from Kiriat Shmona to Eilat and all parts of YOSH. Do you think Olmert would agree to make more than a lightening visit to Sderot?
22. Here's a "good faith" concession
Marya ,   sacramanto, USA   (06.29.07)
Olmert moves to Sderot to show he he's eilling to put himself in their shoes - isn't ignoring the trauma they're doing through out of an arrogant and elitist attitude.
23. #16 Marcell
Don Saliman ,   Nahal Oz, Israel   (06.29.07)
I live on Nahal Oz and understand your helpness, when the leader of our country, tells us,I can not protect you,so fend for yourselves. I am glad my sons are now grown up and do not live in this area, but what is sad,my wife and I don't want our sons to bring our grandchildren to our home. Olmert fiddles while Southern Israel burns. Keep the faith,
24. HE BREAKS THE SOCIAL CONTRACT!
SERGIO ,   ISRAEL   (06.29.07)
A regime that admits to not wanting to assure the safety of its citizens, HAS NO RIGHT TO EXIST! If the enemy doesn't stop, THE GOVERNMENT MUST MAKE THEM STOP, AT ALL PRICE! ANYTHING EKSE IS FALSE MORAL, IMMORAL, AND LOSER!
25. Don Nahal Oz
Marcell ,   Nir-Am   (06.29.07)
Don, we do not forget the terror attacks that you suffered in Nahal Oz either, even before the Kassamim started falling in Nir-Am. Pity our government is content with us in the role of sitting ducks. Shabbat shalom ve shaked.
26. Is thre problem realy Olmert, Condi and Bush or
ilana   (06.29.07)
does the blame lie with the apathetic, almost drugged-like state of the citizens of Israel? They have moved so far from the REASON Israel is to be a united nation in it's own land that they have nothing to fight for or believe in. As long as Tel Aviv is a thriving tourist town and the misionaries are on the street corner, preaching 'trun the other cheek" and someone - anyone else but them sure can do something, they choose not to get involved. The Jews are choosing death over life. They are choosing assimilation over a an established moral way of living. They are choosing the comfort of one day at a time over the future of Jewry. I hold the Jews in the Diasporia more responsible, because they have abanandoned the path of G-d for their modern way of life. Is there ONE righteous in Israel? If not.....history shows us what should happen. May G-d open the eyes and hearts of those who can effect change, or at least show a good fight for Torah principles.
27. Maybe Israel should consider this :-)
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (06.29.07)
Congress Votes to Outsource Presidency Washington, DC (AP) -- Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced to India as of July 1, 2007. The move is being made in order to save he President's $500,000 yearly salary, and also a record $521 Billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead that the office has incurred during the last 5 y ears. "We believe this is a wise financial move. The cost savings are huge," stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). "We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash outlay." Reynolds noted. Mr. Bush was informed by e-mail this morning of his termination . Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time. Gurvinder Singh of Indus Teleservices, Mumbai, India, will assume the office of President as of July 1, 2007. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing at Niagara Falls, NY, thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month, but no health coverage or other benefits. It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference between the US and India, he will be working primarily at night, when few offices of the US Government will be open. "Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer call center," stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview. "I am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President." A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should not be a problem as President Bush had never been familiar with the issues either. Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying issue at all. "We know these scripting tools work," stated the spokesperson. "President Bush has used them successfully for years, with the result that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about." Bush will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final day of employment. Following a two week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 13 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit. Mr. Bush has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Mr. Bush may have difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his lifetime. A Greeter position at Wal-Mart was suggested due to Bush's extensive experience at shaking hands, as well as his special smile. ============================ You gotta admit, we love our presidents. :-)
