1. Attempts To Besmirtch This LEGAL Purchase Will Fail
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (07.03.07)
Just like the attempts to besmirtch the Jews of YeShA.
2. #1, Get over it Yishai
Dan ,   USA   (07.03.07)
They either forged the documents or purchased forged documents, either way they are squatters and must return the property to its rightful owners.
3. Law vs. Belief
Eric ,   Holmdel, USA   (07.03.07)
It is illustrative to contrast the Israeli method of settling disputes in court with the current customary local practice of using firearms to settle property and other disputes. While the facts are yet to be decided in this case, it might not be too presumptive to have an initial bias against a defendant that presents forged documents to the court. There is, after all, the common law doctrine of “unclean hands.” I can’t help but wonder the fate of a hypothetical Jew who would stay behind in a Hebron ruled by a Republic of Palestine who then filed a lawsuit against the Muslims who occupied his property and claimed it as their own. Would he even get his day before a fair and impartial court of law?
4. contradictions in Palestinian story = guilty untill proved
(07.03.07)
otherwise. then, why hiding face of the settler in the "disputed" house's photo, because he is innocent untill proved otherwise?
5. Yishai Kohen, that's a weak pathetic response
Jake   (07.03.07)
Take responsiblity for once. The success of your enterprise depends on convincing the Israeli concensus of the justice for your cause. If you cannot convince them, perhaps you should change the course of your actions instead of whining and criticizing everyone else. The settlers at large should be supported, but not renegades and apologists for renegades.
6. GEE I THOUGHT ABRAHAM OUR FATHER PAID FOR IT IN FULL

7. It is provocative ctions like this that strengthens Hamas

8. The police lied again!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (07.03.07)
9. The owner who sold was already killed by Arabs
Itzik ,   Haifa   (07.03.07)
Since the Arab who sold this property to Jews was already killed (because he sold it to Jews) the Property belongs to Jews.
10. Misleading headline
freejay ,   Israel   (07.03.07)
Its disgusting that Avrim Zino or his editor uses the headline "'Settlers forged ownership of Hebron house' Then in the first paragraph he writes: The documentation submitted by Hebron settlers as proof of their legal ownership of the disputed house in the city may be a forgery. Notice how an accusation has already turned into a "may be a forgery". This is disgusting biased reporting and Ynet should sack the editor that used this misleading biased headline.
11. Only Crooks Need to Forge Documents
Fred Farkelsteinman ,   NY, NY USA   (07.03.07)
Clearly the illegal settlers are nothing but crooks who are surreptitiously trying to take over more Palestinian land in occupied Hebron. They should be immediately removed from the property that they tried to acquire as they have no valid claim, especially given the fact that they engaged in a criminal act already by forging papers already.
12. Key Witness
Pete ,   Bat Yam   (07.03.07)
The police's key witness to the forgery was Farfur the Rat, he got the key and deeds from his grandfather before the Shabak punched him to death and made him a shahid! Oh wait wasn't Farfur's grandfather's house in Tel Arabiyeh AKA Tel Aviv? Isn't that the building President Elect Peres lives in?
13. The occupation of our lands since '48 is a steal
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (07.03.07)
The zionist enterprise is built on contempt, cheating and theft. An entire nation is displaced in all parts of the world due to their ILLEGAL occupation of our lands.
14. 13 salameh I guess youre building a beautiful country in Gaz
Simon ,   Yerushalaim   (07.03.07)
15. # 11 The completly fake Jewish last name, Mr Fraudelsteiman
Benny Goodman ,   USA   (07.03.07)
You are a fraud to identify yourself as Jewish, and condemning the actions of the Jewish people trying to preserve thier Jewish State, the homeland for every Jew in the world who can leave persacution and live in a Democracy, with fair justice and laws of decency. The Arabs attacked first, and continue to this day from 1948 to present. Even yopu Mr. Fraudelsteinman, have the right to protect yourself.
16. # 13,
Nathan   (07.03.07)
Israel does not have clean hands, but your For-Fathers did not establish a Nation. I feel for the postion your in, living under occupation, but the answer to end it is to drop your guns, not through RESISTANCE.
17. The court doesn't need evidence or proof
eliyahu   (07.03.07)
Let's face it. The israeli courts have never relied on legalities to throw right wing religious off legally purchased land. Even when Jordanian documents were produced supporting claims of Jewish ownership in Hebron, the courts ordered the Jews to be evicted. The fact that the absurdly left wing court is stymied is proof positive that the Jews have what would pass for a rock solid case in any other country. It seems to me that it is SOO absurd that even the Israeli court is embarrassed to throw the Jews out.
18. Judgement reserved
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.04.07)
The police have a very bad reputation for malining the Jews of Hebron. The facts are not in, and I have very serious reservations that it has taken months for the police to suddenly announce that the documents 'may be' forgeries. In any case this is a matter for the courts and moronic anti-semites need to just shut up and let the legal system do it's job.
19. They all lie. Give the house to me! :)
(07.04.07)
20. Ynet convenienttly leaves out critical facts
Marty ,   USA   (07.04.07)
it is interesting that in the Jerusalem Post they gave so much more information that was totally missing in this "story". And of course the additional info puts a whole different light on the "story".
21. Admits party transferred to third party
Steve ,   USA   (07.04.07)
B"H That is a very specific admission. Now with the serious doubt or forgeries, what about the docments make them supposedly not geniuine? That there is no proof that an admitted deal was cancelled seems to indicate serious doubt that the deal was properly cancelled. On one had there are papers showing a deal that may be authentic. On the other hand, there is no proof the deal was cancelled, no physical evidence. Physical evidence is usually more compelling to me as there can be misunderstandings or misrecollections with intangible understandings. Quote: For instance the plaintiff admits he made a deal to transfer ownership of the property to a third party, but he presents no documentation to support his claim that he canceled the deal later on.
22. Only in Israel
Hiram ,   tel-aviv   (07.04.07)
would such a court case take place......! One can look at the activity of courts of law in Western Europe...one will never find any similar situation.... does it say anything ?
23. Eric, nr 3
leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (07.04.07)
You're right, but you forgot to mention that the Arab response to any unfavorable court decision is violence.
24. If the settlers win they can sue YNet for defamation & libel
Nannette ,   London   (07.04.07)
because YNet have refused to tell the whole story, and by their sins of omission, make the whole issue look like something else entirely. It's called defamation and it's also libel. Israel's legal system is based on ours, and once the settlers win their case in the Court, they can easily win against YNet.
25. Ynet:
R.Alkalai ,   USA   (10.19.07)
We have read that you are closing out this English edition due to lack of sponsorship. The reason you do not have the income you would have liked is because of headlines such as this one. Everyone knows that there is a lot more involved here than what you are stating. Media that loses credibility, loses readership, and then loses advertisers. Then, they lose their shirts.
26. who owns French Hill in Jerusalem?
D   (10.19.07)
Are there legal documents in the hands of the present residents of French Hill and other suburbs of Jerusalem which would stand up in court any better than the documents inthe hands of the settlers? Maybe the solution would be for all the Jews to leave Palestine for within the next three months and only be allowed back in if the Internation Court can be convinced that their houses were legally purchased.
27. Hebron settlers
khader herzallah ,   amman-jordan   (10.20.07)
How can anyone ,jew or no jew,in the present time agrees with what the settlers are doing in Hebron. The police says that the documents submitted by the settlers are most likely forged ones. The law decides who is the real owners, not the settlers who took the law in their hands.Any state allowing this kind of action is a state of a jungle,a state of mafia, which must be stopped immediately, otherwise it will become the norme in israel even among the israelis themselves. You can forge reality for some time but you cannot do that all the time.At the end Israel will lose its credibility among nations if things are not corrected.
