Irgun did it to end the British occupation of the land. It was the right thing to do. Without Irgun Israel probably wouldn´t exist, so we should be grateful to David Raziel Avraham Tehomi and other great fighters.

THERE ARE NO NON-VIOLENT HAMAS PRISONERS IN ISRAELI JAILS. I can´t stand these negative-type of highly educated arabs living in Europe and North-America. They use their education the wrong way, kind of like those jordanian and iraqi doctors who were caught plotting bombings in London this week. Lets get real: You couldn´t really care less about Palestinians in the Middle-East. Are you even a Palestinian? I doubt that. You just want to make all Jews look bad. That´s your main agenda.

This is exactly the two scales for one issue , in the time when Irgun did this there was nothing called Israel so which land you speake about .... and like they had the right to kill for liberating a land Hamas and Fath has the same right two so ... or all are terrorists or all are resistence but no two scales for the same action , Hamas and Fath are Palistinians and under occuation so they have the right to resist more than Irgun even ... like you are now so proud of Irgun the Palistinians will be proud too of Hams and Fath when they will be liberated .

You say "when they will be liberated". Ok, lets start with some facts first. First of all it took TWO WEEKS for Irgun to get rid of Britons. Two weeks of bombings in their military bases in the Middle-East. How long have you tried now: for almost a hundred years? Maybe after the first ten, at the latest, you should have realized that it´s not going to happen. Now, let me make myself clear on this one: I don´t hate the palestinians I bear no malice towards them, but seriously you need to get your act together and accept the current situation and accept the facts. Otherwise you are at an impasse with no way out. You ignore the fact that Israel has only got a SMALL part of what used to be a Palestine. That 25% of the land is ours and it is going to stay that way. (Gaza and West Banks of cource are disputable) But why should Jews give their tiny little land to arabs, after almost a hundred years of hard, intensive work to build everything that Israel contains now? It´s not going to happen. Lastly, what do you think Palestine was before Jewish immigration. Let me shed a little light on that: The report of the British Royal Commission, 1913: "The road leading from Gaza to the north was only a summer track suitable for transport by camels and carts ... Houses were all of mud. No windows were anywhere to be seen.... The plows used were of wood.... The yields were very poor.... The sanitary conditions in the village [Yabna] were horrible.... Schools did not exist.... The rate of infant mortality was very high.... The western part, toward the sea, was almost a desert.... The villages in this area were few and thinly populated. Many ruins of villages were scattered over the area, as owing to the prevalence of malaria, many villages were deserted by their inhabitants." Lewis French, the British Director of Development: We found it inhabited by fellahin who lived in mud hovels and suffered severely from the prevalent malaria....Large areas...were uncultivated....The fellahin, if not themselves cattle thieves, were always ready to harbor these and other criminals. The individual plots...changed hands annually. There was little public security, and the fellahin's lot was an alternation of pillage and blackmail by their neighbors, the Bedouin. Life under British rule was much, MUCH worse than it is after Jewish immigration, so Palestinians too, should show gratitude to our Great frighters of Irgun.

Something you forgoz to mention that without the help of the super power of the world you would be since more than 60 years to get rid of you too and forget this story of the briton went out because of Irgun in two weeks sound like children stories , Irgun was a terrorist group in the eyes of the world that time like you call Hamas and Fath now , no matter how lomg it takes to liberate Palastine but as long as they are not leberated the Israelians will never sleep with two eyes closed , they are fighting since more than 60 years and they didn't and they will not give up till they get at least alot from their rights back , and here is what they concider Irgun that time like you do now with Hamas . The most well-known attack by Irgun was the bombing of King David Hotel in Jerusalem on 22 July 1946. British authorities condemned Irgun as terrorist already in the 1930s.[2] However, Irgun also had considerable suppport within the Zionist movement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irgun from 1930 till 1946 is two weeks ??? come on guy you will not make the history a la carte like the french says according to your interest ... your big dream you came with it to this land are falling one after one starting from the big dream of the great Israel from the Nile till El Forat river till the dream of the safty Israel not even this dream you could make true , you increased your enemies with your brutal politic against the Arabs and soon the area will be full of neuclear arsenals and you are in danger like never before and you became weaker than before the last war of Lebanon showed how you became ... get real

Look, the time of Irgun´s existance isn´t the same as the time of Irgun´s bomb attacks on British military bases in the Middle-East. And withdrawal from those military headquarters followed in two weeks: not withdrawal of all britons in such a short time... But theres no reason to give you history lessons, buddy. Since you carry on with the same things, same arguments. You have already decided everything in your mind and are probably incorrigible. Just put these things under your thick skull: 1. Israel has plenty of nuclear weapons for defence purposes. If we really wanted to destroy you and kill all of you, we would have done it already. 2. Israelis are not afraid of Palestinians. Or never have been. Palestinians have never posed a serious military threat to Israel.
38. Shir, what is your problem??
Khalid ,   Canada   (07.05.07)
"a murderer is a murderer. Even of those that did not directly kill anyone" Exactly. Listen, open your mind just one little bit. What you just said is exactly the way Hamas (and their supporters) view Gilad Shalit; as a murderor even if he had not directly killed anyone, the IDF has. "THERE ARE NO NON-VIOLENT HAMAS PRISONERS IN ISRAELI JAILS." Easy on the caps-lock dude, and Avinoam (post # 16) is the one that suggested he would free non-violent prisoners, so deal with him and his argument, not me. "You couldn´t really care less about Palestinians in the Middle-East. Are you even a Palestinian? I doubt that." I'm a Palestinian, I've only lived there (in Gaza) for two years of my 22, my parents, grandparents, and basically every aunt and uncle of mine still live in Gaza, in the Remal district, behind Azhar University, I really can't give you any more proof than that. Look Shir, you need to accept facts. The IDF has killed more people, demolished more homes, and destroyed more lives of innocent people, and KIDNAPPED MORE PEOPLE than Hamas ever has. And until you understand that just like Israel claims to have kidnapped "terrorists", Hamas does also, then nothing will be solved. I swear to god it's not that complicated!

You speake like a child who believe what he read in the super man magazins, you are very premier how you think and it seamed you learned the history only from zionists books , you have no idea what you are talking about till i started thinking that you are not more than 20 years old ... sorry .

First of all you get no sympathy from me, just because you are young. I am a year younger than you are. It´s easy to critizise Israeli army from there, it really is. Israel army does everything to PROTECT israeli people. All the strict security measures at the borders are there to protect israeli citizens. How does Hamas protect Palestinians? They butchered ONE HUNDRED people during one week. Thousands during months. Their own people, their own civilians. You are educated, so you are very well aware of the fact that it is insulting to compare Hamas and IDF, and that they can´t be compared. You are doing this intentionally, so you can make israelis look evil and blame them for all your (palestinians´) problems.

Avinoam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.05.07)
I understand your point. I do agree that the Palestinians do have a right to defend themselves. That does not however draw an automatic parallel between the IDF and Hamas. The IDF is the military force representing Israel. As such it is bound by national and international laws. What laws bind Hamas? You can argue that the IDF has broken laws, and in some cases I'd probably agree with you, but there is still the intent to follow the law and have some semblance of order. The same cannot be said of Hamas. Furthermore, and more importantly, is the issue of targeting civilians. This is ultimately what defines an organisation as terrorist. I can't speak for the whole of Israel, but I am pretty sure that I speak for the majority when I say that no matter the circumstances we find civilian casualties on the Palestinian side to be regretable. We don't revel in the suffering of the Palestinian people. And many of our own would make political sacrifices in order to make life easier for the Palestinians. The IDF does not specifically target civilians. Civilian casualties for us are a measure of failure and not of success. For Hamas it is exactly the opposite. Civilian casualties on our side are THE measure of their success. This is precisely why Hamas is a terrist organisation and the IDF is not. The Palestinians have a right to defend themselves. Hamas is not the means. What are the means? What is the solution to their problem? I don't know. And I also don't know why they don't have a state already. I am all for a Palestinian state living side by side with Israel. I think there are exactly two obstacles to this: beaurocracy; and the perpetuation of violence.
