33. #5 Churchill...
Lior ,   London   (07.07.07)
Unfortunately, Steve, the historical facts do not confirm your allegations against Churchill. He was not a member of the government before the declaration of war in the September of 1939 and had no say in British policy toward Jewish refugees. He became prime minister in 1940 - before, one might add, America joined the war against the worst tyranny the world had ever seen - and by 1945 was out of power again, defeated in the precipitously early general elections which brought Clement Atlee's Labour Party to power - and which remained the governing party until 1952. Churchill was not in a position to send refugee ships back to Hitler's Germany. He was not in government. He was not in government when the post war Labour Party mishandled so disastrously the end of the Mandate in Palestine. In fact, Churchill - much to the consternation of many in the British political class who did in fact have overt anti-Semitic sentiments - had a reputation of being very pro-Jewish and absolutely lamented the insidious leftwing, Soviet inspired, anti-Zionism of Ernest Bevin, the post war British Labour Foreign Secretary who is in fact responsible for the disasters that you so gleefully recount... at a time when mounting anti-Semitism in America was reaching unprecedented levels - and this, just after the Holocaust. You are free to dislike the British. You are free to say so. But please have your facts straight when you give your reasons. I say this only because hatred based on untruths and lies is why Britain went to war with Nazi Germany in the first place... and waited for America to join her, which she seemed very relunctant to do until she was bombed into it by the Japanese, Germany at the same time declaring war on the USA, not really giving Roosevelt much of a choice. So, you see, facts are important. You wouldn't just want to be called a racist bigot, now, would you... Or perhaps you would?
34. #30, you must be quite young
Danny   (07.07.07)
There was a Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the first intifada. There was a muslim brotherhood in the mandate in the 20's before the State of Israel. As for the UN, don't make me laugh. As an Israeli I consider a point of pride to be condemned by the UN - it is was sets us apart from Sadam's regime in the 80's, Khomeni, Sudan, Rwanda during the genocide, Chinese during Tiamen Sq, Algeria in the 80's etc, etc.
35. Dalia Itzik brought two messages from Israel. Please help
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (07.08.07)
us get our kidnapped soldiers back. Think of how their mothers must feel while they are in the hands of heartless kidnappers. The other message is: If any of your reporters submit stories we don't like, our snipers will blow their fucking brains out and there's not a thing you can do about it.
36. #35; Hamass murders reporters and everyone else.
SauidArabiaApartheid ,   American   (07.08.07)
Stupid British reporters shouldn't have gone into a war zone and hanged out with terrorists. The Idf were shooting back at terrorists and didn't know that idiot reporters were among them. Real apartheid exists in nearly all Arab/Muslim countries where "others" are treated like Blacks were in South Africa. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. Something you wouldn't know because it's been years since you've been of your basement. Why are you so obssessed with Israel, loser? If you really hated Israel you would throw away your computer, cellphones, Ipod etc.
