With 8% predicted support 2-3 weeks in September wouldn't make any difference. If he cannot be ready by then, he won’t be ready by October either. The most important thing is to get rid of Olmert before the US pulls out of Iraq and the Islamists go on offensive. Israel needs to be strong and united. Shalom should examine the results of the recent statistics placing him as third far lower than Feiglin the second after Bibi. When he saw that he had not a chance to win, he opened his mouth to accuse Natanyahu of aggressive behavior. Shalom doesn`t know how to loose.

Silvin Shalom needs to learn a little about how politcs works Natanyahu wants the top job and so obviaously he wants to move the ellections to a time which is going to give him the best chance at winning them thats politcs. He also should be reminded that just because Natanyahu moves the ellections to time which are good for him doesnt mean he will defaintly win it if Likud feel he is the best man for the job then he will be ellected if they dont like him then he will loose. Politicians are not angels who only care about peace, justice and being fair and neither is Natanyahu but the idea that he is running the party like the Syrian baathists is rediculous. Somebody should also tell Shalom the result of Syrias ellections .. Assad was the only candidate and he got 100% of the votes in his favour there are other men standing against Natanyahu and neither of them are going to win by 100%\Its Olmert that wants to get close to Syria and give away the Golan to get himself a nobel peace prize.
