The obstacle to strategic ties with China in this case is the US. They see China as a threat to Americana interests and so they dont want Israels strategic relationship to get to close. Certainly the US is destroying any trade agreements Israel may want to make with China over weapons ( 100% Israeli technology systems ) so in this case Israel any strategic relations Israel may have with China will have to wait untill the US sorts out its problems with China. India though is probably the greatest sucess story that has come from peacemaking outside the Middle East .. the Hindu state is probably the closest ally Israel has at this time after the US
