31. Waiting for the mahdi
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (07.20.07)
Isn't Mahmoud's mahdi supposed to show up sometime in August? Maybe he's going to run a little late, because either they can't find enough horses for everybody to ride from Yemen to Mecca for the occasion, or Jesus isn't having any of that playing second banana. Maybe Mahmoud's talking to Assad is a good thing. He may not be too thrilled at the prospect of having Damascus look like Beirut for the sake of some mahdi, when all he wants is just the money for throwing out the occasional "peace" or "Golan."
32. To #31, The signs of Almahdi return
Aal ,   Miami   (07.20.07)
Not only Almahdi will reappear soon, but Jesus will be with him. You Dont need to read the Islamic history to know that this is a must Fact. Please read Jewish,Christian , and Nostradamus's books to realize this fact. We already witnessed signs that happened, and waiting for the rest to happen and then you will realize this fact.
33. To "32": Jesus reappear...
Hansje   (07.20.07)
Wow! Jesus will reappear! That will be a real 'Ness', isn't it? I want to see this. But, what we rather will see is this: a burnt out and destroyed Syria and Iran. That's more likely. No Mahdi, no Jesus.
34. Divine Misinformation
Zooog ,   USA   (07.20.07)
There was an article in the Lebanese Star with the above title. Israel definitely lost the propaganda war last summer. While the military wasn't up to past performance nevertheless the army was up at the Litani river. Hizballah didn't occupy any Israeli territory. I don't think any opponent wants to end up looking like Beirut. So I think this is all talk about a summer war.
35. the real enemy sits in the cabinet
chaim schonbrun ,   brooklyn n.y   (07.20.07)
your real enemy, sits in the cabinet Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah meet in Damascus citizens of israel, please, please realize that your existential threat,is not from ahmadinejad,nasrallah,hezbollah,- hammas,or the rest of the gangsters in your neighborhood. your biggest threat for your existence and well being,is that criminally insane traitorous, pathetic, incompotent,[idiot ehud olmert if you won't get rid of him immediately, you can kiss goodbye to your beautifull g-d given country
36. to # 16 about rogue states
Yiannis Kareklas ,   Athens , Greece   (07.20.07)
I fully agree with your comment adding that arab extremists ( rogue states ) have deprived the democratic world of their basic rights such as freedom. It is only safe today to live in an arab country and it is only the arabs who are enjoying today their life in general. The democratic world has to react urgently and face harshly the different threats coming from those extremists. A lot has been sacrified for the democracy and it shouldn't be let to Iran & Syria to dictate to us what we should do and whom the world has to get rid of.
37. Is this the right time to give Syria Golan?

38. #3. Mahmood
Cy ,   Reading, Berks   (07.20.07)
You are missing the point. Nobody denies there is some sort of unholy alliance between Nasrallah and Ahmadinejad. But the question is FOR WHAT? To cause mayhem again in Lebanon, to destabilise Lebanon and to create a proxy war against Israel to satisfy Ahmadinejads lust for a confrontation with Israel? And who suffers? Looking at it from a purely Muslim point of view, Lebanon suffers. Iranians suffer - because of his massive so called generosity to support these gangsters. So think carefully Mahmood before you give succour to these people. Because most Lebanese and most Iranians DO NOT SUPPORT what is going on. We dont need the likes of you to make the position worse. STOP DEFENDING THE INDEFENSIBLE.
39. CY................................................#38
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.20.07)
Cy, you seem to be assuming too much.No attempt is made to support or oppose anyone here. Also,be aware that everyone has a right to express his view in this coloumn. What you assume to be mayhem is YOUR view,to designate resistance faction in Lebanon to be gangsters is,once again,YOUR view. The fact that, once again YOU thinking that the majority of the Iranians and Lebanese dont support this is far from the truth and fortunately, you know it. And once again, interpretation of any event, condition anywhere does not give uniformity in all cases. You are a biased person trying to keep away from reality. I,too, would suggest, exploring your brains to arrive at a proper conclusion of what exactly is going on in that area. So,please keep up to your standard and allow others to contribute their views.
40. #39 Mahmood...you are wrong!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (07.20.07)
This opinion that Iran and Hezballah are de-stabilizing Lebanon and the ME is not just mine and Cy's. There are millions of people all over the world that agree. Most LEbanese people oppose Hezballah and many Iranians oppose Ahmadinejad. We don't know an exact number b/c Iran is not free to conduct polls and such. The fact that you keep defending terror groups and rogue regimes only shows your biased opinion.
41. BY THE SAME TOKEN.................#40
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.20.07)
DR, by justifying that your views should be the one I should accept is asking bit too much.Terrorism disguised in the form of free world and democratisation is another form of terrorism.Upto few years back, many in the third world countries were unable to speak.Times have changed.Refer to USA's record in almost 24 countries. How democratic they have been?.What you are witnessing is as result of statelevel democratisation(state level terrorism,in other words) thrown back at you.But as mentioned so many times in the past, you would never be able to see it that way because you are NOT prepared to see it.Sorry, but your contention does not hold here at all
