1. Legal Eagles out there, tell us about "attempted murder"
Canadian Otter   (07.19.07)
in your countries. Is it considered a "Moderate criminal activity"? Something along the line of stealing bikes, or illegal gambling, perhaps? How can the government talk of "moderate militants" who have destroyed lives, left people disabled and traumatized due to their violent acts?
2. is the justice system the govts pawn?
jack bauer ,   usa   (07.19.07)
Does olmert and company own the justice ministry as well? Has either the govt. or justice done anything at all recently to represent the will of the people of Israel?
3. Another example of Justice in Israel
Tracy W   (07.19.07)
The following is an account of how skewed is the justice system in Israel: "Two brothers on the Emergency Response Unit in Maaleh Rechavam, south of Jerusalem, spotted suspicious Arabs on the outskirts of their village. The Arabs were suspected of collecting intelligence data about the Jewish village to be given over to terrorist organizations in preparation for an attack. When Danny and Yitzhak Halamish went to distance the Arabs, more Arabs arrived and surrounded the two Jews who subsequently fired warning shots. The two brothers were arrested and face trial. The Arabs went free." As reported by Israel National News on July 17th. Available by clicking on News tab.
4. Lowest Court
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.19.07)
There is a higjher court that you evil men and women will answer to soon. This evil agenda of yours will fail. 14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. 15Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; (ROAD MAP) when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. 19From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report. 20For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it. 21For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. 22Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth. Isaiah 28 :14-22
5. Passes the court's politcal litmus test
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.19.07)
It's all politics as the court will intervene to set the route of the fence or annul decisions that it feels violates rights. Here it is clear that the release harms the rights of victims to see their persecutors serve their full terms, but since it is a "peace" move it gets a pass.
6. I love the Israeli Supreme court
Palestinian ,   Jerusalem   (07.19.07)
Wow... I like ur decisions guys..........
7. The country is in the hands of a self-selected group
Howard K ,   NYC   (07.19.07)
of people. Nothing less than a dictatorship. This is an affront to any person with ideals of democracy and justice. It just happens to be a Left-wing court. If it was a Right-wing court, the noise from within Israel and from the international media would be deafening.
8. No.2: No, we are the pawns
Rob ,   Toronto   (07.20.07)
Ehud & Co. never had to ride the bus, nor have to be in any place that could be bombed. Why should they even consider us?
9. HIGH COURT PEOPLE MUST NOT INTERFERE IN GOVERMENT DECISION.
TOM BENS ,   USA   (07.20.07)
THE COURTS ARE TELLING ALMAGOR NOT TO INTERFERE WITH GOVERMENT DECISION.HAVE THEY LOST THERE MINDS HOW CAN THEY NOT INTERFERE THERE FAMILY'S WHERE KILLED BY THESE TERRORIST.A NEW LOW FOR THE ISREAL ARAB HIGH COURTS.
10. #2 - The Courts run the country. They are nobody's pawn
Canadian Otter   (07.20.07)
The Leftist governments that ran the country in its early years left everything in place so their agenda would be perpetuated by setting up the courts and the electoral system in such a way as to make sure their Leftist values would prevail, no matter which party or coalition has a majority.
11. All of your venom and hatred for Israel & the US
Mordechai ,   Natanya, Israel   (07.22.07)
have made your words sound as clanging metal, and brass. You have dicgraced yourself and your words are empty carriers of hot air. What you say from here on out will carry no weight and will be rendered meaningless. "If you have all the gifts, yet have not love, your words have become merely blaring brass or a cymbal clanging". Ahhh, now it's time for some peace and quiet.
12. I have no special rights 2 decide what is best 4 Israel
terrorism survivor ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.22.07)
I do have the right to ask my government why they are making this decision, what value it has and who it will help. But apart from that I do not have any special expertise that assists me in second guessing the government in order to make the correct decision. I have never seen personal loss and grief listed as requirements for making State decisions.
13. #11 is meant for #4
