1. As a writer, this writer isn't much of a writer.

WHAT sort of crap is this article?? Is the writer equating a pardoning of 3 murderers through chicanery, with the pardoning of a harmless woman who was onvicted by an antagonistic, politically charged court, who overdid her always generous hospitality a bit. Blumenthal was arguably innocent, since she is wealthy, and has the reputation of being ALWAYS very giving, even to strangers. Peres is a scoundrel, but I'm sure he jumped at the chance to get good publicity (for a change0 by this inocuous act. This article is purely an op-ed political craperoo.
2. Don't worry, Peres lacks the courage to immitate Ben-Gurion

Ben-Gurion is one of the most courageous politicians in the history of Western civilization. He brought the state of Israel into being when everyone said it couldn't be done. He led a one-day old state through a multi-fronted war that no one expected it to survive. He stood against the Soviet Union, when few others in the free world dared to do so. He fought Nasser wihtout fear even though on paper Nasser had the power to tear Israel to smitherines. He told his people to place emphasis on their own beliefs and actions and not on the words of their enemies, even when those enemies were telling them to count their days. Peres is a delusional, senile, coward who who embraces his enemies while they kill his people and believes that foreign powers who are at best indifferent and at worst hostile to Israel to determine its fate. He is more afraid of his own army than of the enemies and his idea of countering the Iranian threat is to crack a joke! If ever there was someone who wouldn't act like Ben-Gurion, Peres is your man!
3. There is so little mercy in America, people are wrongly...

convicted by juries and executed for murders they did not commit. This happened so often in the State of Ilinois, the governor had to suspend the death penalty. Hashem is the God of Mercy or the Hebrews would have been slain by Hashem in the wilderness. ONLY by the INTERVENTION of MOSES who told HASHEM he (Moses) would give up his eternal life if Hashem slayed the Hebrews for DISOBEDIENCE and SINS WORTHY OF DEATH, that Hashem relented. Only Caleb and Joshua and their families made it into the Promised Land of those who disobeyed God in the Wilderness. Shouldn't Excellency Shimon Peres have the right to be merciful toward those who have commited LESSER OFFENSES than the Hebrews in the Wilderness?

The real question is why Ben-Gurion and the Shin Bet were so anxious to release the murderers. You can understand by yourself that the most logical answer is that they have sent the murderers themselves. This way the embodyment of the Yeshuv leadership, Ben-Gurion Weitzman etc. during WW2 was very comfortably buried as a victim, instead of being re-convicted.To learn more read Ben hecht`s Book "Perfidy" or in Hebrew כחש
