31. Not all Israelis are sleepwalking, but they are too quiet
Michelle ,   Vancouver   (07.31.07)
It's not hopeless. Read Israel National News for their reports on the Yesha people, on the Back to Homesh movement, on the determination of Jews who have learned their lessons from the expulsions and are in no mood for any more surrenders. Perhaps the typical Tel Avivian may be willing to compromise again and again in a foolish hope for peace. But there are many others who have changed their minds since Gush Katif, and still many others who will be willing to resist any further expulsions. However, other than the Back to Homesh movement and the Yesha people in general, there is an uncomfortable silence in the face of every insult that the government throws at the Jewish population of Israel. For a while one could blame it on fear or apathy.... but then we read about the big and loud demonstrations against sexual misconduct and the pro- and against the gay parade, and we were left wondering... Where are they when they are truly needed, to defend patriotic principles and to stand against the destructive policies of their government?
32. #23; Thanks for the insight.

33. hundreds out of thousands
zionist forever   (07.31.07)
Hundreds of residents signe a petition saying lets talk with Syria and of couse give up the Golan but there are around 20 thousand jews living in the Golan who dont want to do deals with the devil at the expense of the Golan. Just because a couple of hundred sign the petition doesnt mean thats the majority view and at the end of the day its what the majority want not a couple of hundred idealsists
34. Assad didnt want to talk to a US envoy
zionist forever   (07.31.07)
About 2-3 weeks ago Assad was saying that talking with a US envoy he wanted to speak to George Bush directly. When Assad things he is so important he can tell the president of the United States that he demands that he talks with him directly and not send his envoys then the man really doesnt understand how the world works.
