31. Not all Israelis are sleepwalking, but they are too quiet

It's not hopeless.
Read Israel National News for their reports on the Yesha people, on the Back to Homesh movement, on the determination of Jews who have learned their lessons from the expulsions and are in no mood for any more surrenders.
Perhaps the typical Tel Avivian may be willing to compromise again and again in a foolish hope for peace. But there are many others who have changed their minds since Gush Katif, and still many others who will be willing to resist any further expulsions.
However, other than the Back to Homesh movement and the Yesha people in general, there is an uncomfortable silence in the face of every insult that the government throws at the Jewish population of Israel.
For a while one could blame it on fear or apathy.... but then we read about the big and loud demonstrations against sexual misconduct and the pro- and against the gay parade, and we were left wondering... Where are they when they are truly needed, to defend patriotic principles and to stand against the destructive policies of their government?
