31. Israel needs to get tough
shelia ,   knox,tn   (08.03.07)
If the syrians had not showed their rears along with the others in 67,they would still have the golan heights.Israel didn't ask to be attact from 3 sides. I would just have to tell Syrian if they wanted the golan, they would have to fight for it.

you may have forgotten, but israel took care to protect its citizens from chemical warfare by giving masks to all and building inground shelters/bomb and chemical shelters in every apt. building and every house. as a matter of fact, you can't build anything now in israel without having a shelter against bombs and chemical warfare....from what i heard. i don't think syrians have this kind of infrastructure. so, no matter how they escqalate the war, we are protected and they know it. they are not and will suffer greatly. see you in damascus!
33. ASSAD WILL BE RESPONSIBLE OF THE DESTRUCTION OF SYRIA

IN any war with Syria Israel needs to take pre emptive action and destroy as many Syrian missle launchers as possible. Allthough Syria does have missles they are not so advanced that they can defeat the arrow and PAC 2 patriot missle defense systems so it wont be a shower of Syrian missles. Its unlikley that Assad would use his chemical weapons the man is an idiot but he is not such an idiot that he knows if he uses chemical weapons against Israel then Israel can retaliate with its own missles armed with either neuclear or chemical warheads. Syrian pilots are somee of the worst in the region and easy picking for Israeli pilots. The tanks are 20-30 years old Russian rubbish and no match for merkavas and the Syrian army in general is a badly trained one .. Iran might be giving them money to buy new toys but unless you know how to use them properly then they are worthless. In the 60s and 70s Syria might have been a major millitary power but today its a nothing and now is the time to attack wipe them out before they start modernising the army and making any future victory more costly in terms of Israeli casualties. You make Syria so weak that they are in no trouble then if Israels politicians dont act like idiotss and say we play by Syrias rules when it comes to politics then Israel with American backing will be in a better position to dictate terms to Syria. instead of the whole Golan you give them a small percentage as a prize then you tell Assad that if he accepts that and stops supporting terror then the US will remove the sanctions and help kick start the Syrian economy The majority of the Golan is then internationaly recognised ( including by thee arabs ) that the Golan is Israeli territory, All Israeli politicians need to do is recognise that Israel has more cards to play and a weaakened Syria will push the odds even more in Israels favour and if they are willing to dicate the terms and not play the good guys saying we must give land for peace then Israel can get a solution thats good for Israel not simply saying Assad wants the Golan so we must give it to him.
36. Another failure where would it lead ISRAEL RIGHT ???
M. Segal ,   Mpls America   (08.04.07)
I realize after Lebanon 2006 Israel is faced with a double and or no not nothing danger rather than a win lose scenario it is now confronted with a lose lose scenario where would that lead Israel thus war with Syria and or any kind of military adventure as like Lebanon 2006 may be more than Israel can may handle thus this is not just danger of... war with Syria... catch on... but some thing... FAR WORSE... quite a enticement for Damascus to go to war with Israel... RIGHT ??? THANK YOU... M. Segal
37. Bashar Assad's plans for war
William ,   Thomasville USA   (08.04.07)
Mr. Assad needs to beware. In the Bible, Isaiah 17:1says, "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." One day this will happen. If he is not careful, he may be the one to preside over the destruction of that great city.
38. Whose Golan?
Paul Winter ,   Sydney Australia   (08.04.07)
Four points regarding the Golan. The Golan was farmed by Palestinian Jews last century and only transferred to the French mandate in 1923. Last year Syria gave up claims to Alexandretta, lost to Turkish aggression in 1938. Israel conquered the Golan in a defensive war in '67 and repelled the Syrian sneak attack in '73. When will Syria pay for its aggression and cease to demand the unconditional surrender of Israel?
39. I've read the Quran...
Rick ,   USA   (08.04.07)
and it gives no detailed specifics concerning the future. As another poster stated...READ ISAIAH 17:1 in which the only God states that Damascus will be totally destroyed for its actions against Israel. Then read EZEKIEL 38:39 in which the only God states that Iran, Russia, and other arab nations (NOT INCLUDING SYRIA) will be supernaturally destroyed by His wrath for attacking Israel. Where is Syria in this prophecy? It no longer exists.....that is God's word...read it for yourself and keep watching.
40. return of the Golan to Syria
Jeffrey Stromberg ,   Las Vegas Nevada   (08.12.07)
Last year my family and I were 10ft from the Syrian border in the Golan three days before the war. What kind of madness is in the minds of government officials thinking that return of this hard won real estate will insure a lasting peace. The only thing our enemies understand is the occasional required kick in the teeth to remind them that what was taken with Jewish blood must never be bargained away . Dealing with criminals and liars can never result in anything good in the long term. Let them prepare themselves for what they crave a shortened life.
