1. Concealment ... of what?
Gazan ,   Gaza, Palestine   (08.03.07)
such acts as the above where commonplace in Gaza before and after Oslo .... concealment of the identity of the commander only serves to cover the continuity of the chain of command in this 'failed' IDF operation
2. THIS IS WHY TEENAGERS ARE AVOIDING THE DRAFT
bill handel ,   brooklyn, usa   (08.03.07)
Who wants to engage in "moral trupitude?"
3. "Preserving the occupation" ????

4. What the courts should do
Mordechai   (08.03.07)
The courts shouldn't be investigating soldiers who fight the Arabs. It should be arresting the commanding officers for not defending Jews in places like Sderot. The moral decay is releasing PLO terrorists. The moral decay is destroying Jewish homes. The moral decay is not destorying the PA.
5. Morality is what Judaism is all about
Jew ,   Israel   (08.03.07)
Give it away, and you've become the enemy.
6. Ok, everybody line up.....
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (08.03.07)

During the Vietnam War, I used to cringe every time I saw one of those right-wing bumper stickers proclaiming "America...Love It Or Leave It." Somehow, though, after reading Mr. Michael's opinion pieces, in which one's own country (in this case, Israel) is made to appear as the embodiment of the Evil Empire, I can begin to understand some of the rationale behind the sentiment on those bumper stickers.
8. Judaism and morality
Johann Haefliger ,   Sion / Switzerland   (08.04.07)
to *5: Yes, Judaism is about morality, human rights: Jewish thinkers have contributes a great deal to emancipatory thought in the Western world. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for present day Zionism, which considers those who don't agree with it, as Amalecites or friends of Haman, i.e. as fair game not derserving any mercy.
9. the "occupation"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.04.07)
unfortunately, it is stories like this that keep the myth of "occupation" alive. no, not the opinion piece critical of the military courts, but the misdeeds of the soldiers in hijacking a taxi, etc. it is incidents like this that fuel the plo's anti-israeli propaganda, and allow them to incite hatred, in spite of the truth: that over 90% of palestinians live in areas under palestinian control, and that life under full israeli occupation, from 1967 to 1997, was better and more prosperous than it ever was before, or since.
10. #6 They lined up but they couldn't get them to go in!!
