1. Why aren't people on the streets!!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (08.08.07)
Where are the demonstrators???? I do not understand the apathy of the people here!!!
2. Why is Olmert so despised and yet so
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (08.08.07)
stable? Look at Shas. A spineless associate. Look at Israel Beitenu, another spineless associate, look at Labor party, the same. So, instead of attacking Olmert, one should concentrate on those spineless parties forming the government. and convince the to quit.
3. #1&#2 next time, don't vote for these parties
aaron ,   ra'anana   (08.08.07)
don't vote for kadima, labor, shas or yisrael beiteinu if you think Olmert is so bad
4. Olmert
Israeli ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.08.07)
All right. We know all this. Nothing new here. The question remains, just how do we get rid of this man that is refusing to step down despite all?
5. Olmert is a disgrace to all Jews.
Gary A. MD ,   Boston MA USA   (08.08.07)
6. Olmert must go!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (08.08.07)
The problem is that the leaders & ministers from Labor, Shas & Israel Beitenu all like their Volvos & don't give a damm about Israel. They are all power hungry idiots! We will remember all of them in the next election!
7. Well done Mordechai
Michael Ben Raphael ,   tel aviv   (08.08.07)
Every word is so true. My blood boils when i think how this criminal Olmert has conned the public. He should be charged in a court for criminal charges. He has no shame. I think he is the most despised, read hated PM ever.
8. if the people are apathetic than Democracy
Michael   (08.08.07)
is in serious trouble. The core foundation to ensure the Democratic institutions remain Democratic are the people.
9. The writer is speaking the mind of the overwhelming Majority
Norman   (08.08.07)
Time for new elections
10. Why are there no protests in the streets?
Barron ,   Israel   (08.08.07)
If those the poor Holocaust survivors can protest, we should be able to do so. I simply don't understand it. There must be some organizations from the entire political spectrum who can get it together to organize not a one-time event, but get the ball rolling. We should be out there banging pots, demanding elections now and an end to this nightmare government.
11. #1 I've been asking that question for at least 6 months now.
jan ,   usa   (08.08.07)
12. Pharaoh Olmert, let my people go!
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (08.08.07)
Ways to get rid of this evil regime which is ruining Israel and the IDF from within day after day. 1. Pressure Shas, Labor, Yisrael Beitenu, etc. to pull out of this gov't NOW or lose everything in the next election. 2. Set up a tent city to hold vigil in front of the PMO, with Shoah survivors, the families of the kidnapped soldiers, teachers, evictees of Gush Katif and Hevron, supporters of the refusenik soldiers, and the long-suffering people of Sderot and Ashkelon. Make the protest snowball until he is chased out of there and the place can be fumigated. 3. Arrest him. I am serious. He has supplied milllions in cash and weapons to Al-Fatah, a terrorist group whose formal charter still calls for destroying Israel and butchering all Jews. Much of this money and ammo has already been funneled to Hamas as well. If you or I gave even one gun to terrorists (chas v'shalom) we would rightfully be arrested and jailed. WHY NOT OLMERT? He is a Jeroboam who despises both Torah and Israel - throw him out of the country and let him go live in Islamic Paris with his son. He has filthied, shamed and betrayed Israel enough. Every day that he is allowed by apathy to remain in office is a lethal danger to Israel's future. IF NOT NOW, WHEN?!?!?!?
13. Every Second olmert FUDD Stays In Office
Gabe Kaplan ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.08.07)
is an abominable crime against G-D
14. Olmert, the nightmare
Drumgoole ,   Newark NJ   (08.08.07)
Olmert has become a plague upon Israel. He is a cynical and corrupt politician, an incompetent leader without principles, and a disgrace to the nation. His cruelty towards Holocaust victims, and his total disregard for the citizens of Sderot should have inspired the Israeli people to take to the streets and demand a new government and a new form of government.
15. Barak is no better
eddie ,   London UK   (08.08.07)
Barak says that even in these circumstances, teh soliders must still obey orders. Barak is equally corrupt as olmert and sharon.
16. We sure have had enough!!!!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (08.08.07)
I feel myself filling up with rage after reading this article. What in God's name do us Israelis have to do to rid ourselves of Olmert? He is without a shadow of a doubt the WORST prime minister this country has ever had the displeasure of. The three Stooges, Olmert, Peretz and Halutz have done untold damage to Israel, damage that can never ever be repaired, families who lost their son during these wars will never be the same and to not even know why - and the Holocaust survivors, 83 shekels a month? Isn't Olmert the one who said they should live with dignity? He is a disgusting traitor and he needs to do the right thing and step down. He disgusts me. They all do. They are all as bad as each other - FEH!
17. olmert is the most cold-hearted person in all of israel.
debra ,   usa   (08.08.07)
18. #1 - Sex
Judy Y ,   Los Angeles   (08.08.07)
The absence of a sex scandal in this situation is what keeps them at home. If Olmert had been connected with some sexy hanky panky, the mobs would be rioting in the streets. But he's free to destroy the country without a whimper from the population.
19. arrogant, corrupted, insensetive,
0ded   (08.08.07)
incomptent, anxious, and plenty of other adjectives can be attached to this gournisht, but yet he is still attached to his seat and position. previous govts. fell and were replaced for 1/10 th of what the olmert govt. had done/doing... WAKE UP PEOPLE, AND THROW OLMERT OUT!!!
20. Enough of Olmert
chaim ,   Tzur Hadassa   (08.08.07)
This is again another article, another outcry and another proclaimation to oust Olmert. Yet, he is still there. I hear nothing of having elections now to get this man out of office. He just rolls along each day doing as he pleases. Are we really tired of him?
21. #1No, he destroys the country because he tells them he won't
quit. And the Jews ,   are secular & weak   (08.08.07)
22. Zman lmoshiach (zl) blog
Michael ,   Jerusalem   (08.08.07)
I have been asking where is the public outcry on my blogspot.com
23. olmert would make a better palestinian leader than abbas
yahn goodey   (08.08.07)
he's more concerned about the pals than abbas or haniyah and has probably given the pals more guns than the other 2 and olmert appears to hate us and the idf and the holocaust survivors.olmert would appear to be a convert to muhammedism he just hasn't graduated yet to be worthy of being given his tea towel to wear-maybe he's been told by those he loves you only get that after you give us the west bank
24. But ...
Aluha ,   London, UK   (08.09.07)
May be he is corrupt, crook, dishonest, weak. But I have to agree that he is the sexiest boy alive.
25. There is one man who can help
Brooke   (08.09.07)
If anybody knows him--beg him----Gaydamak--he can rally the masses, build tent cities in front of the Knesset. Israel rise up and take back your country from murderers and liars and crooks. Stop with the same old, same old. Denounce and revoke the Oslo Accords. Annex the territories. Your lives will be easier and the elusive peace you seek shall be divined unto you. Start a petition and help inspire Gaydamak Then change your election laws. Don't trust everything you read. Your journalists and editors are biased, pushing political agendas. A disgrace to journalism. Good luck and G-d bless Israel
26. 25 - You must be joking
Mark ,   Philadelphia   (08.09.07)
That guy is flirting with the Arab vote. He and anybody else who wants to lead, must prove himself first. Being generous with his money is not enough proof of suitability.
27. After 25 consecutive, negative talkbacks...
enzo ,   london,uk   (08.09.07)
I say: I like Olmert (and I love his ties!).
28. to #26
Brooke   (08.09.07)
If you read my comments carefully, I am suggesting that Gaydamak can rally the citizens of Israel to force resignations in the knesset. I never suggested Gaydamak for any political position. Many in this talkback have voiced grave concern for the apathy of the Israelis---why are they not in the streest--protesting. Camoing out in front of the knesset? Gaydamak can make that happen. Period.
29. Where are the people
ralphsrant1 ,   USA   (08.09.07)
Read my latest post dealing with Jefferson's Ideas on dissent and democrocy. Maybe Israelis will finally take to the streets and have a national strike to force new elections. This is a puppet goverment and unelected at that. Olmert Barak Peres and the Labor Members as well as Livni were never elected to their office http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com/
